Attach the keyboard to its matching Combo Touch case, open the kickstand, and start typing; the iPad connects to the keyboard through the Smart Connector on the cited 10th-generation model, so that variant does not use a Bluetooth-pairing step. Detach the keyboard for viewing, and use the built-in trackpad and shortcut row for navigation and common controls. Combo Touch versions differ, so check your exact iPad model and keyboard variant before buying or troubleshooting.
Attach the keyboard and choose a position
Combo Touch is a detachable keyboard case. Logitech describes four ways to use it, depending on whether you are typing, watching, drawing, or reading.

Typing
Attach the keyboard to the case, open the kickstand, and adjust the screen angle. Logitech’s general viewing-position instructions describe an angle of 20–60 degrees; the 10th-generation iPad specification also gives that range for its named variant. Check your model’s specifications rather than assuming the same range applies to every generation. Logitech’s 10th-generation specifications and position instructions describe the supported modes.

Connect and start typing
On the cited Combo Touch for iPad (10th generation), the Smart Connector both connects the keyboard and supplies its power. This is not a Bluetooth keyboard pairing process. Other Combo Touch variants may differ, so use the setup guide for the exact model rather than applying the 10th-generation detail universally. Logitech’s Combo Touch setup guide is the product-specific starting point.

Use the trackpad
Logitech documents the following gestures for its trackpads. The gesture page does not identify every Combo Touch generation, so behavior can vary by model or iPadOS version. If a gesture is missing, consult support for your exact keyboard. Logitech’s trackpad gesture guide provides the documented controls.
- One finger: Move the pointer and click. iPadOS also offers an optional tap-to-click setting.
- Two fingers: Swipe to scroll vertically or horizontally; tap with two fingers for a secondary click; pinch in or out to zoom.
- Three fingers: Swipe up to close the current app, swipe farther up to show all apps, or swipe left or right to switch between apps.
With the keyboard connected, you can adjust trackpad direction, cursor speed, and tap-to-click in iPadOS settings. The exact settings labels or location can vary by iPadOS version.

Use the shortcut and media keys
The shortcut row provides quick access to common iPad and media controls. Logitech’s general key-function page lists these functions, but the physical row varies by Combo Touch model. Check the symbols printed on your keyboard or the support page for its exact variant. Logitech’s shortcut-key guide describes the listed controls.

- Decrease or increase iPad screen brightness
- Open the onscreen keyboard
- Search
- Decrease or increase keyboard backlight
- Previous track, play/pause, and next track
- Mute and decrease or increase volume
- Lock
For example, the 10th-generation specification lists Dictation and Screenshot and does not list Lock in its shortcut-row excerpt. Logitech’s older specification for the 7th- and 8th-generation iPad, 3rd-generation iPad Air, and 10.5-inch iPad Pro includes Lock. Do not expect every function above on every keyboard. 10th-generation specifications and older-variant technical specifications show these model-specific differences.

Check compatibility before buying or troubleshooting
Combo Touch compatibility is model-specific. Logitech’s cited specifications cover particular variants—including one for iPad (10th generation) and another for iPad (7th and 8th generations), iPad Air (3rd generation), and iPad Pro 10.5-inch—not a universal compatibility list. Confirm both the exact iPad model and generation and the Combo Touch variant before purchasing or diagnosing a fit or connection problem.
- On the iPad, open Settings > General > About and identify the model name and generation. If the generation is unclear, use the model information shown there to confirm it with Apple’s device details.
- Compare that iPad with the compatibility information on the exact Combo Touch product listing or Logitech support page.
- Check the keyboard’s shortcut row and documented features against the same variant’s specifications; layouts and supported details can differ.
For example, Logitech’s 10th-generation product specification names a specific iPad generation, while its older technical specification names different iPad generations and sizes. These are examples of model-specific fit, not a complete list of every current Combo Touch option.
