To give your Twitch VOD a different audio mix from your live stream in Streamlabs Desktop, enable Twitch VOD under Settings > Output, then choose which audio sources feed the VOD track in Advanced Audio Options. The default VOD track is Track 2. This controls Twitch’s VOD audio; it is separate from local multi-track recording.
Set up the Twitch VOD track
- Make Twitch the destination. Select Twitch as your streaming platform. If you use Dual Output, make sure one destination is Twitch. Streamlabs says the Twitch VOD feature is not currently available for multistream. See the Streamlabs Twitch VOD Track guide, last updated March 17, 2026.
- Open the output settings. Go to Settings > Output.
- Enable the feature for your output mode.
- In Simple output mode, turn on Advanced encoder settings, then enable Twitch VOD.
- In Advanced output mode, enable Twitch VOD directly.
- Choose the audio sources for the VOD. In the audio mixer, select the gear icon to open Advanced Audio Options. For each source, check the selected VOD track if you want that audio included in the Twitch VOD; uncheck it to exclude that source. Track 2 is the default VOD track, but you can change the selected track.
- Check the result on a VOD. The source assignments determine the VOD mix, separately from the live mix. After streaming, review the VOD to confirm the intended sources are present or absent.
What “separate Twitch VOD track” means
This feature routes selected audio sources to Twitch’s VOD output. For example, you can exclude a music source from the VOD while keeping it in the live mix. It does not create editable audio stems in a local file. Streamlabs describes the feature and its source assignments in its Twitch VOD setup guide.

When you need separate audio in a local recording
Local multi-track recording is a different workflow: it saves audio inputs on separate tracks in a recording file so they can be handled separately in an editor. Streamlabs documents configuring this under Output > Recording in Advanced output mode, then assigning sources in Advanced Audio Settings. Its documented workflow supports up to six audio tracks. The Streamlabs Desktop recording guide was last updated September 22, 2026.
Configure a local multi-track recording
- Open Settings > Output and switch the output mode to Advanced.
- Open the Recording section and choose the number of audio tracks to record, up to six.
- Open Advanced Audio Settings and assign each audio input to the track or tracks you want it recorded on.
- Choose a recording format that supports multiple audio tracks. Streamlabs says FLV does not support multiple audio tracks and advises MP4 or MKV.
- Record a short test and check the file in your editing software to confirm the tracks are available as intended.
These recording assignments affect the local file, not what Twitch saves in its VOD. For Streamlabs’ multi-track instructions, see How to use multi-track recording in Streamlabs Desktop, last updated April 25, 2025.

Troubleshoot a VOD that has the wrong audio
- The Twitch VOD option is missing: confirm Twitch is the selected destination and check whether you are multistreaming. Streamlabs says Twitch VOD is not currently available for multistream. In Simple mode, enable Advanced encoder settings to expose the option.
- A source is audible in the VOD when it should be excluded: reopen Advanced Audio Options from the mixer gear and uncheck that source’s selected VOD track.
- A wanted source is missing from the VOD: check that source’s VOD-track assignment. The VOD track defaults to Track 2, so verify the selected track matches the one enabled for Twitch VOD.
- You expected separate tracks in your recording file: Twitch VOD routing does not create local stems. Configure local multi-track recording under Output > Recording instead, and use MP4 or MKV rather than FLV.
Or let it run in the cloud

- Add your YouTube stream key once.
- Go live; StreamNeo loops the video from the cloud.
