To set up a Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, power it on, follow the first-run prompts for language, privacy, Wi-Fi and accounts, then choose whether to transfer data from an older device. SIM or eSIM steps appear only on supported cellular models. The exact screens can vary by model and connection type, so follow the prompts on your tablet.
Before you turn on the tablet
- Check the box for charging accessories. Contents vary by country, region and service provider. Samsung’s Gulf product listing says its travel adapter is not included; that is a regional note, not a guarantee about every retail box. Check what came with your tablet before buying a charger. Samsung recommends using the correct charger and cable. See Samsung Gulf’s product listing.
- Decide whether to add a SIM or microSD card. The Tab S10 Lite is listed in Wi-Fi and 5G variants, so cellular setup does not apply to every device. Insert a physical SIM or optional microSD card only if your model supports it and you want to use one.
- Charge the tablet over USB-C if needed before beginning setup.
Set up the tablet step by step
- Turn it on and choose a language. Hold the Side button until the screen lights up. Select your preferred language and tap Start.
- Review terms and privacy choices. Read the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, and consider the diagnostic-data options. Accept the choices you are comfortable with; agreeing to every optional setting is not required to complete setup.
- Choose whether to copy data. If you want to bring over information from another device, choose the offered Galaxy/Android or iPhone/iPad route and follow the Smart Switch or on-screen instructions. If you prefer a clean start, choose the option to continue without copying.
- Connect to Wi-Fi. Choose your network and enter its password. If the network is hidden, Samsung’s setup guidance says to add it manually.
- Complete cellular setup if prompted. Follow the on-screen eSIM instructions if your model and carrier support eSIM. For physical SIM activation or carrier settings, contact your carrier. On a Wi-Fi-only tablet, skip this step.
- Sign in to Google. Sign in or create an account when prompted. Samsung notes that a Google account provides access to the Play Store and other features.
- Set a screen lock. Choose a lock method. If you add biometrics, such as fingerprint recognition, set the required standard lock as well.
- Choose Samsung account and display options. Sign in to or create a Samsung account if you want its services, then choose Light or Dark mode.
- Finish the prompts and review updates. Once setup is complete, use the tablet’s current Settings menu or Samsung Support for update instructions. The exact post-setup screens can depend on software and model.
Samsung’s general tablet setup instructions note that steps can vary depending on whether a tablet has LTE or is Wi-Fi only. For exact-model guidance, Samsung UK lists a Galaxy Tab S10 Lite User Manual for Android 16 (version 1.1, dated 28 August 2026) as well as an Android 15 manual dated 27 August 2025. Transfer data from your old tablet or phone
Samsung recommends Smart Switch for migration. Its setup guidance covers transfers from Galaxy or other Android devices, iPhone or iPad, and other methods such as external storage. Available content and instructions depend on the source device and transfer method; do not assume every app, setting or file will transfer.

- From Galaxy or Android: Choose the corresponding source option when offered and follow Smart Switch or the tablet’s prompts.
- From iPhone or iPad: Samsung says iOS data can be transferred by cable, wirelessly or through iCloud. What transfers varies by method.
- From external storage or no source device: Use an available external-storage method if it suits your situation, or skip copying and set up the tablet as new.
What changes between Wi-Fi-only and cellular models?

Samsung’s product and support listing includes Wi-Fi and 5G variants, so check the model you own rather than assuming every Tab S10 Lite has a SIM tray or cellular setup option.
