Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →To keep a prerecorded-video stream running without leaving a computer on, use a cloud streaming service that uploads your videos, loops a playlist, and sends an encoder feed to YouTube. You create the YouTube broadcast, connect it to the service with authorization or a stream URL and key, then start the stream and check it in YouTube Studio. The cloud service—not your home PC or internet connection—must remain responsible for sending the feed.
Before you start: confirm your channel can go live
- Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, according to YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements.
- First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours. Enable it ahead of your intended launch rather than assuming it will be available immediately. See YouTube’s activation guidance.
- Prepare videos you have the right to broadcast. Replaying a playlist does not exempt a channel from YouTube’s Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, copyright rules, or monetization policies.
Set up the cloud stream
- Create the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Open Create → Go Live, then create a stream or schedule one. Set the title, privacy, and archive options in YouTube. YouTube’s encoder setup guide describes the standard workflow.
- Connect the cloud encoder to YouTube. Depending on the service, authorize your YouTube account or enter the server URL and stream key shown for the broadcast. A stream key is a credential: use it only with a service you have chosen and trust. YouTube documents the URL-and-key method in its encoder instructions.
- Upload your videos and arrange the playlist. Check the service’s accepted media formats, storage and upload limits, playlist behavior, and scheduling controls. Confirm that the videos are suitable to repeat and that their audio and picture are correct.
- Start the service’s broadcast and verify it in YouTube Studio. Check the Live Control Room preview and status, then confirm the public watch page behaves as intended. YouTube still receives an encoder feed; the cloud service is the encoder that keeps sending it.
- Decide how you will handle interruptions and archives. Ask the provider what happens after a connection drop, restart, or stopped broadcast, and how it handles stream rotation. YouTube Help states, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That is an archive rule, not a promise of uninterrupted streaming, and a broadcast running longer than 12 hours should not be assumed to produce one complete archive. Keep your source files and plan how to preserve content you need.

Other approaches to evaluate
- Gyre: Its site describes uploading videos, creating looped playlists, scheduling, and cloud streaming. It advertises a seven-day trial and plans with different storage and stream limits. Those are vendor statements; check current plan limits, formats, stream counts, and prices directly.
- LiveGoLive: Its service page describes a cloud encoder for uploaded media and connection through either Google authorization or a stream key. The page directs visitors to a waitlist, so check availability before treating it as a currently purchasable service.
- Google Cloud Live Stream API: Google’s documentation describes managed live encoding billed according to active-channel time and resolution, with additional charges for distribution outputs. This is infrastructure for a technical setup, not necessarily a ready-made creator workflow. Estimate total costs before configuring an always-on channel; Google says an active channel can incur charges even when it has no input stream. Stop resources when they are not needed.
Settings and checks that matter
Use a secure ingest connection when available
YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a server URL and stream key. Google describes RTMPS as RTMP carried through an SSL connection; its RTMPS guide specifies a valid YouTube RTMPS ingestion endpoint and port 443. Prefer RTMPS when both your provider and encoder support it.
Check limits before uploading or paying
- Confirm the video formats accepted by the service and whether you must convert files before uploading.
- Check storage and upload limits, supported resolutions and frame rates, playlist and scheduling controls, and how many simultaneous streams the plan allows.
- Find out whether reconnecting is automatic, whether the service restarts a stopped YouTube broadcast, and what you need to do after a stream-key change.
- Compare recurring plan terms and any usage-based infrastructure charges. With a self-managed cloud server, you also own encoder configuration, monitoring, updates, and recovery.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload your recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. Videos stream at the quality you uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.

The preview appears, but the public stream is not behaving as expected
Check the event’s privacy and schedule in YouTube Studio, then verify the public watch page. Make sure the correct broadcast is selected in the cloud service and that its playlist is active.
The video will not upload or play
Check the service’s supported formats, file-size or storage limits, and any media preparation requirements. Confirm the playlist contains the intended videos and that each file’s picture and sound are usable.

The stream stops or an archive is incomplete
Check both the cloud service’s broadcast status and YouTube Live Control Room. Ask the provider whether it reconnects automatically and whether it restarts a stopped broadcast; do not infer an uptime guarantee from a reconnect feature. YouTube automatically archives streams under 12 hours, but a longer broadcast should not be relied on as one complete archive. Preserve the original media separately.
Copyright and channel-policy checks
Before making a playlist public, confirm you have the rights and permissions needed to broadcast every video and its music, images, and other included material. YouTube’s live-stream rules require compliance with its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines; the platform can restrict live-streaming access. Repeated playback does not itself establish that content is original, permitted, or eligible for monetization. Review StreamNeo’s copyright safety checklist before streaming. For planning uploads, use the upload-time calculator; to compare a cloud service with a home-PC setup, use the cloud vs PC cost calculator.
