To send bhajans from a Windows player into OBS, capture that player with Application Audio Capture on supported Windows versions, then disable OBS’s global Desktop Audio to prevent duplicate sound. If that capture option does not work with your player, select the intended playback device in OBS or use the documented VB-Cable workaround. Check the Audio Mixer meter and listen to a short test recording before starting your stream.
Choose one audio capture route
First identify the Windows application playing the bhajans and the playback device it uses. The right OBS setup depends on your Windows version, player compatibility, and whether you want to capture only the bhajan player or all sound from a playback device.

Set up Application Audio Capture
- Open OBS and add an Application Audio Capture source to the scene you will stream.
- Select the application that plays the bhajans.
- Open Settings → Audio and set global Desktop Audio to Disabled. This prevents the same player sound from reaching OBS through both the application source and desktop capture.
- Start playback and watch the Audio Mixer. The source meter should move while the bhajans play.
OBS documents per-application audio capture for Windows 10 version 2004 or later and Windows 11. If you are on an earlier Windows version, or the player does not appear or is not captured correctly, use another route below.
Use a playback device or scene-level capture instead
Capture the global playback device
If capturing the selected Windows playback device is acceptable, open Settings → Audio and choose the intended device for Desktop Audio. Play the bhajans and check that its mixer meter responds. This route can also include other sound sent through that device, such as notifications, so silence or disable unwanted Windows sounds before leaving the stream unattended.

Capture a device in the scene
To scope device capture to a scene, add an Audio Output Capture source and select the playback device used by the player. If that same device remains selected as global Desktop Audio, OBS may capture it twice and produce echo. Disable the duplicate global device in Settings → Audio.
Use VB-Cable if the player is incompatible
OBS documents a virtual-cable workaround: route the application’s output to CABLE Input, then add an Audio Input Capture source in OBS and select CABLE Output. This is a fallback for an incompatible application, not a required component of every setup.

Set monitoring and check the level
In OBS, the Audio Mixer monitoring control plays a source through the monitoring device configured in OBS settings. Turn monitoring on if you want to hear the OBS-routed source locally; leave it off if you do not. Monitoring is for your own listening check—it is not what routes the source to viewers.

- Play the bhajans and confirm the appropriate Audio Mixer meter moves.
- Listen to the source where possible, then listen through OBS monitoring to check the captured mix.
- If the signal is missing, too quiet, or too loud, check the Windows system and per-application volume sliders as well as the selected OBS device.
- Adjust the source level first, then make any needed adjustment in OBS, and verify by listening back.
Headphones or another monitoring output can make it easier to hear the mix, but they are not required to route audio to the stream.

Test the scene before starting a continuous broadcast
- Use the intended scene and start the player.
- Make a short OBS recording or test stream.
- Listen back. Confirm the bhajan is audible, is not doubled, and is not accompanied by unwanted Windows or application sounds.
- Correct the capture route, duplicate sources, or volume settings and test again if needed.
The OBS Project’s Quick Start Guide encourages a brief test before going live and listening to a recording. A successful check confirms the audio path at the time of the test; it does not guarantee that a PC, connection, or stream will stay online continuously.
Audio settings this setup does not determine
This audio-routing procedure does not prescribe an audio bitrate, encoder, or other output value. Those settings depend on the destination platform, which is not specified here; check that platform’s current requirements before changing OBS output settings. Likewise, the exact player and Windows configuration are unspecified, so choose the capture route that matches your system rather than assuming one route works for every application.
