You can set a Bitcoin (BTC) price alert on all four exchanges by opening the BTC market or asset page, selecting the bell or alert control, choosing a trigger and target, saving it, and allowing notifications on both the exchange and your device. An alert only tells you that a condition was met; it does not buy or sell Bitcoin. Coinbase states this explicitly, and you should treat alerts on every exchange as notifications rather than automated orders.
The exact menus differ. Coinbase requires Bitcoin to be on your watchlist, Binance Pro offers the broadest documented trigger choices but limits the number and lifetime of alerts, Kraken separates browser and mobile permissions, and Crypto.com Exchange may restrict the feature in some jurisdictions.

What you need before creating an alert
Sign in to the correct exchange account and decide which BTC market you are monitoring. “Bitcoin price” is not one universal number: BTC/USD, BTC/EUR, BTC/GBP, BTC/USDT and other pairs can differ slightly because each pair has its own quote currency, liquidity and market activity. Select the pair you actually use before entering a target.

- A target expressed in the pair’s quote currency: A target of 100,000 means 100,000 units of the selected quote currency, not automatically US dollars.
- Permission to send notifications: Enable push, browser or operating-system notifications as appropriate. A saved alert can still be silent when permissions are blocked.
- A decision about direction: Use “rises above” when you care about a breakout and “drops below” when you care about a support level or risk threshold.
- A delivery plan: Decide whether you want a one-time message or repeated notifications where the exchange offers that choice. Repeated alerts can become noisy during volatile trading.
Alerts are not guaranteed to arrive at the instant a chart touches a number. Exchange matching, price-feed updates, connectivity, device sleep modes and notification settings can introduce delay. If a level is important, keep the exchange app and your phone’s notification settings configured before the market reaches it.

Only Binance publishes the numerical limits above. The other services do not establish a universal alert quota in the cited help instructions, so check the alert screen if you need many active conditions.
Coinbase: create a Bitcoin alert in the mobile app
Coinbase’s documented workflow is mobile-first and has one important prerequisite: Bitcoin must be in your watchlist. An asset that is not watchlisted will not send a Coinbase price alert.
- Find Bitcoin: Open the Coinbase app, use search, and select Bitcoin (BTC).
- Add it to your watchlist: Tap the star icon. Confirm that Bitcoin now appears in your watchlist.
- Open the alert control: On the Bitcoin page, tap the bell-plus icon.
- Choose Add Alert: Select the option to create a new price alert.
- Choose the direction: Select whether BTC should move above or below your target.
- Enter the target: Type the price in the quote currency shown for the selected market. Check the currency symbol before saving.
- Save: Confirm the alert. It should now appear with your other Coinbase alerts or watchlist notifications.
Choose how Coinbase delivers the message
Open Account & Settings > Notification Settings. Enable any combination of push, in-app and email notifications that suits you. Push notifications require permission in the phone’s operating system as well as in Coinbase. If you disable one channel, the alert can still arrive through another enabled channel.

Coinbase describes price alerts as notifications that an asset has reached a certain price and says they do not place an order for that asset. You must return to the trading screen and submit an order yourself. A price touch also does not guarantee that a market order will fill at exactly the alert target; an alert and an execution are separate events.

Binance: use Pro mobile or desktop alerts
Binance documents alert creation in Binance Pro on mobile and in the desktop interface. The Pro requirement matters: if the app is in a different mode, the Markets alert controls described below may not be visible.
Mobile steps in Binance Pro
- Open Markets: Launch Binance Pro and go to Markets.
- Find the BTC pair: Search for the trading pair you want, such as the BTC pair quoted in your preferred currency.
- Tap Alert: Open the alert icon for that pair.
- Select an alert type: Choose the condition that matches your plan: reaching a price, rising above, dropping below, percentage change or 24-hour change.
- Set the value: Enter the target price or percentage. For a 24-hour-change alert, make sure you understand that the comparison is to the relevant 24-hour reference, not a fixed price.
- Set frequency: Choose the available frequency for the condition.
- Create the alert: Review the pair, condition and value, then save.
Desktop steps
- Open the Alerts icon in Binance’s desktop interface.
- Choose to create a new alert.
- Select the market and trading pair.
- Choose the condition and time or frequency settings.
- Save the alert and verify that it appears in your active-alert list.
Binance limits and notification permissions
Binance states a maximum of 10 alerts per trading pair and 50 alerts in total. Each alert is valid for 90 days, so a long-running strategy requires periodic renewal. These are documented limits from Binance Support, updated January 6, 2026; they can change in a later interface revision.
Enable notifications in your phone or desktop operating-system settings. If Binance is allowed to create alerts but blocked from sending notifications, the condition can be met without a visible message. Check both the exchange’s notification controls and the system-level permission for the Binance app or browser.

Web procedure
- Open Kraken’s Market Alerts area.
- Enable browser notifications when the browser asks for permission. If you previously selected Block, open the browser’s site-permission controls and change notifications to Allow.
- Select Create new alert.
- Choose the BTC market and enter the price condition offered by the current alert form.
- Save the alert, then confirm that it is listed as active.
Mobile procedure
- Allow push notifications for Kraken Pro in the phone’s operating-system settings.
- Open Kraken Pro and enable push notifications in the app’s own settings.
- Go to Market Alerts and create the BTC alert.
- Review the saved alert in the active-alert list.
Kraken says the price-alert notification setting is on by default once you create the actual alert. That default does not override a device-level block, battery-saver restriction or browser permission denial.
Spot versus futures links
A spot-market alert can link back to the relevant market. Kraken notes that a futures alert may not link to the proper markets page, so use the pair and market type shown in the alert itself rather than assuming that a notification link will open the intended futures contract.
Crypto.com Exchange: set a one-time or repeating alert
Crypto.com Exchange offers alert creation on the web and in its app. Its help documentation, published May 29, 2025, warns that the feature may not be available in certain jurisdictions. If the bell or Price Alerts option is missing, regional availability may be the reason rather than an account error.
Web steps
- Sign in to Crypto.com Exchange and open Trade.
- Click the bell icon and choose Enable Now if prompted.
- Select the BTC trading pair.
- Choose Price rises above or Price drops below.
- Enter the target price in the pair’s quote currency.
- Choose Once only or Repeat.
- Save the alert and check that it is listed.
App steps
- Open Market and tap the bell icon, or open Trade > … > Price Alerts.
- Select the BTC pair.
- Set the rise-above or drop-below condition and enter the target.
- Choose whether it should run once or repeat.
- Save, then verify the active alert.
Allow browser notifications and operating-system notifications. On a phone, check both the Crypto.com app permission and the system’s notification category for the app; on a computer, check the browser’s site permission and any desktop focus or do-not-disturb mode.

How to choose a useful BTC alert condition
The best condition depends on what decision you will make after receiving the message. Set the condition first, then choose a target that is actionable rather than placing alerts at arbitrary round numbers.
Breakout notification
Use “rises above” or a Binance upward percentage condition when you want to investigate momentum after BTC clears a level. A single alert avoids repeated messages while you decide whether to review the chart.
Downside notification
Use “drops below” for a support level, a portfolio-risk threshold or a price at which you plan to reassess a position. Do not assume that receiving this alert gives you enough time to exit at the target; fast markets can move through it.

Range or volatility monitoring
Binance’s percentage and 24-hour-change conditions are useful when the absolute BTC price is less important than the size of the move. For example, a percentage alert can notify you about an unusually large move regardless of whether BTC is trading in dollars, euros or another quote currency.

One-time versus repeat
Choose a one-time alert when the event should trigger one review. Choose repeat only when you genuinely need reminders after the condition continues or recurs. Crypto.com Exchange exposes these choices directly; other exchanges may use their own frequency controls or expire an alert after it fires.
Notification troubleshooting
The alert saved but no message arrived
- Confirm that the target pair and quote currency are correct.
- Check the exchange’s notification settings.
- Check the phone, browser or desktop operating-system permission.
- Disable Do Not Disturb, Focus or a battery setting that restricts background activity.
- Check that the alert is still active and has not expired. Binance alerts expire after 90 days.
- Look for an in-app alert history or notification center if push delivery was delayed.
The alert control is missing
- On Coinbase, add Bitcoin to the watchlist first.
- On Binance mobile, switch to the documented Pro experience and open Markets.
- On Kraken, open Market Alerts rather than relying on a general market page.
- On Crypto.com Exchange, check whether the feature is available in your jurisdiction and whether you enabled it from the web Trade menu.
The notification opens the wrong market
Check whether you created a spot or futures alert and whether the selected pair matches the intended quote currency. Kraken specifically notes that futures alerts may not link to the proper markets page. In that case, navigate manually to the contract shown in the alert details.
You have reached an alert limit
On Binance, remove unused conditions when you reach 10 alerts for one pair or 50 overall. Also account for the 90-day validity period when planning recurring monitoring. For Coinbase, Kraken and Crypto.com Exchange, no universal cap is established in the cited help instructions; use the current alert screen to determine availability.
Operational and security practices
- Use a named plan: Label or document each target by its purpose, such as breakout review, downside review or portfolio check.
- Verify the pair: BTC/USD and BTC/USDT targets are not interchangeable.
- Keep alerts separate from orders: An alert does not reserve liquidity, submit a limit order or protect a stop-loss.
- Review after major market changes: A target that was useful at one price level may become irrelevant after a large move.
- Protect account access: Use the exchange’s supported authentication controls and never treat an alert email or push message as proof that a login request is legitimate. Open the exchange directly rather than following an unexpected link.
- Test permissions with a low-impact condition: If you are unsure whether push or browser delivery works, create a temporary alert at a nearby level, confirm receipt and then remove it.

Whichever exchange you use, create the alert on the exact BTC market you follow, save it, and then verify the complete notification path from the exchange to your device. That final permission check is what turns a configured condition into a message you can actually see.
