To send a website screenshot to Telegram on a recurring schedule, connect three n8n nodes: Schedule Trigger → HTTP Request → Telegram: Send Photo. The Schedule Trigger starts the workflow, the HTTP Request captures a rendered page through a screenshot API such as Browserless, and the Telegram node sends the resulting image to a chat or channel. Run it manually first to confirm the screenshot’s actual binary field and Telegram destination before activating the schedule.
What you need
- An n8n workflow and a destination Telegram chat or channel.
- A Telegram bot connected to n8n, with permission to post in the destination. For channels, add the bot to the channel; n8n notes that most message operations require this. n8n Telegram node documentation
- Access to a screenshot API. This guide uses Browserless as the documented example; its screenshot endpoint requires an API token. Browserless Screenshot API
- The page URL you want to capture and a decision about how often to send it.
Before capturing pages behind an account, consider what data the screenshot service can access and whether the Telegram chat or channel is an appropriate place to send that image.

Build the n8n workflow
1. Add a Schedule Trigger
Create a workflow and add n8n’s Schedule Trigger as its starting node. Configure a cadence that fits your use—such as hourly or daily—using the options available in your current n8n interface. Check the node’s current documentation for schedule and timezone behavior, and confirm the workflow is active when you expect recurring runs. Exact controls and behavior can depend on the n8n version and workflow configuration. n8n documentation
2. Add an HTTP Request for the screenshot
Connect an HTTP Request node after the Schedule Trigger. Browserless documents a POST request to its screenshot endpoint, with the page URL and optional screenshot settings in the request body and a token query parameter for authentication. It can return PNG, JPEG, or WebP image data. Browserless also provides an n8n integration page showing HTTP Request examples that return screenshot data as a buffer or base64. In the HTTP Request node, configure the method, endpoint, authentication, and body according to the current Browserless API documentation and your account. Put the page URL in the request body and add only the screenshot options you need, such as full-page capture or an output format. Keep the API token in n8n’s credential or secret mechanism where available; do not paste a live token into a shared workflow or expose it in screenshots of your configuration.
Set the request to return image data in a form the next node can use. The exact option labels and output shape may vary with n8n version and node configuration, so inspect the node’s execution output instead of assuming a binary property name. If the response is base64 rather than binary, add or configure a conversion step to create binary image data before sending it.
3. Add Telegram: Send Photo
Connect a Telegram node and choose Message → Send Photo. Select the Telegram credentials for your bot and set the destination using the chat ID or channel username. The operation can take binary image data, an existing Telegram file_id, or an HTTP URL; it also supports an optional caption. n8n Send Photo operation documentation

For a screenshot produced in the same workflow, binary data is usually the direct route. Enable the node’s binary-file input and enter the actual binary property name shown in the HTTP Request output (or in your conversion node’s output). Do not copy a field name from an example unless it matches your own execution data.
4. Test, then activate
- Run the workflow manually once and inspect the HTTP Request output. Confirm it contains a valid image as binary data or as a base64 value that you can convert.
- Configure Send Photo to use the correct source and binary property, then run the Telegram node or full workflow.
- Check that the image arrived in the intended chat or channel and that any caption is correct.
- Activate the workflow and verify the schedule and timezone settings in your current n8n UI.
This is documentation-based setup guidance, not a claim that a particular workflow was executed or tested.
Choose how Telegram receives the image
| Input method | Use it when | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Binary image data | The screenshot is already available in the n8n execution. | Send Photo’s binary-file setting must point to the real binary property produced by the preceding node. |
Telegram file_id |
The image is already stored in Telegram and you want to send that existing file. | Use a valid file ID available to the bot and select the matching Send Photo input. |
| HTTP URL | The image is hosted at a URL Telegram can fetch. | Confirm Telegram can access the image at that URL; a private or short-lived URL may not be fetchable. |
These are distinct input paths documented for Send Photo; choose one based on where the image lives in your workflow. Telegram Send Photo inputs

Browserless API or a browser you manage?
A hosted screenshot API avoids running and maintaining a browser environment yourself, while managing browser rendering gives you control over that environment and leaves you responsible for its setup and upkeep. Browserless is one hosted option documented for n8n, including an integration template. The cited documentation does not establish comparative pricing or service-level performance, so compare providers on their current terms rather than assuming a cost or reliability advantage. Instead of configuring a browser-rendering request yourself, use ScreenshotNeo, a website screenshot API with an MCP server. One GET request captures the requested page; this cURL example saves the image response:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

For setup details and API options, see the ScreenshotNeo documentation. You can adapt the request to your target URL, then pass its image output into your workflow’s Telegram Send Photo step. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before the shot; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and the free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for free ScreenshotNeo access.

Telegram sends a message but no image
Check whether the HTTP Request returned binary data or base64. If it returned base64, convert it to binary before Send Photo. If it returned binary, inspect the execution output and set the Telegram node’s binary input to that exact property.

The Telegram node cannot post to a channel
Add the bot to the channel and confirm it has permission to post. n8n’s Telegram documentation notes that most message operations require the bot to be added to the channel. n8n Telegram node documentation
The screenshot API request fails
Check the endpoint, HTTP method, requested page URL, JSON body, and token query parameter against Browserless’s current endpoint documentation. A missing or invalid token, or a malformed request body, can prevent the capture request from succeeding. Browserless Screenshot API

The screenshot is blank, incomplete, or captures too early
Review the target page’s load behavior and the screenshot settings. Browserless supports optional capture settings; choose settings appropriate to the page and verify the resulting output in a manual run before relying on the recurring workflow. A page that loads content after the initial render may need different timing or capture options.
The workflow does not run when expected
Confirm the workflow is active and review the Schedule Trigger’s current configuration and timezone behavior in the n8n UI and documentation. Timing controls can differ by version and configuration; do not assume a particular timezone or exact execution time without checking those settings. n8n documentation

The workflow runs a capture request each time the schedule fires, so choose a cadence that matches the monitoring need rather than capturing more often by default. API pricing, limits, and any service performance commitments depend on the provider and plan; the cited Browserless materials do not establish comparable prices or service-level figures.
Keep both the screenshot API token and Telegram bot credentials out of workflow text that may be shared. A screenshot can contain account details or other sensitive page content, and the image is delivered to the Telegram destination you configure. Check that the page, API provider, and destination are appropriate for the data being captured.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can n8n send a website screenshot to a Telegram group as well as a channel?
Yes. Use the group’s chat ID as the Send Photo destination; for a channel, use its username or chat ID and ensure the bot has been added with posting permission.
Can I include a caption with the screenshot?
Yes. The Telegram Send Photo operation supports an optional caption.
