To capture an Instagram profile as one tall image, first scroll down to load the posts you want, then use Firefox’s Save full page or Chrome DevTools’ Capture a full size screenshot. A full-page command does not guarantee that an infinite feed will fetch every post on its own, so check the saved image for missing sections.
Load the posts before capturing
- Open the profile in a desktop browser and navigate to the page state you are allowed to access. A screenshot records what the browser can render; it does not grant access to content requiring login or other permissions.
- Scroll down gradually to load the posts you want in the image. Pause when tiles or images have not appeared yet. This is a practical way to let a scrolling page render more content, not a guarantee of Instagram-specific behavior.
- Use one of the browser capture methods below, then inspect the result.
Capture the full page in Firefox
- Open Firefox’s Screenshot tool.
- Select Save full page.
- Download the resulting image or copy it to the clipboard.
Mozilla documents full-page capture and the option to download or copy the image in its Firefox Screenshots guide.

- Open Chrome DevTools and turn on device mode.
- Open More options.
- Select Capture a full size screenshot.

Check the image for gaps or unwanted elements
Open the saved image and check the first and last posts you intended to include, along with the sections between them. Look for gaps, repeated sticky elements, and images that had not finished loading. If the screenshot truncates the feed or skips sections, capture shorter overlapping sections and combine them only if you need a continuous record.
When a scrolling-capture extension may help
Extensions may actively scroll or preload lazy content, unlike a basic full-page command. Their store listings describe features, not proof that a particular Instagram profile will capture completely.

- CaptureScroll: Its store listing describes local scrolling capture, lazy-content preloading, PNG/PDF output, and controls for floating headers and overlays. It also warns that very long pages may hit browser canvas limits; nested scroll regions or unusual overlays can require selected-element capture or manual cleanup. The listing showed version 1.0.2, updated 2026-08-14.
Before installing an extension, review its current permissions and privacy disclosure. A listing’s claim that processing is local is a vendor claim, not a guarantee for every version or configuration.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request can return a screenshot or PDF. Its cleanup steps can accept cookie and consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks and CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and the response identifies the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server offers take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. It is not a way around Instagram permissions, and the result still depends on what the browser can access and render.

Screenshot versus account-data download
Meta’s Download Your Data information describes a way to access and download data about how a person has used Instagram. That is an account-data route, not a documented method for creating a visual screenshot of a profile page. The article dates from 2020, so it should not be treated as current step-by-step guidance for the Accounts Center interface.

Limits to keep in mind
Browser capture tools record rendered page content; none of the cited documentation promises a complete Instagram feed capture. The available information does not establish how many posts Instagram loads, whether a private or login-gated profile can be captured, or whether a named extension will capture a particular profile completely. Do not treat a screenshot as a record of posts that were never loaded or as an archive-grade guarantee.
