Record the exact Z Flip generation, browser, orientation, device posture, and browser-reported viewport for every capture. A display’s pixel resolution is not its CSS viewport, and results from one Z Flip generation do not automatically describe another.
Use this workflow for repeatable Galaxy Z Flip screenshots
- Label the test setup. Note the exact Galaxy Z Flip generation, browser (such as Chrome or Samsung Internet), OS or software version if available, orientation, and whether the phone is open, closed, or partly folded.
- Start with emulation. Use Chrome DevTools device mode or a Samsung foldable emulator to check responsive layout changes. Samsung’s testing guidance documents Android Emulator 30.1.1 and later and lists a Z Flip-like 6.7-inch horizontal fold-in configuration. Emulation is useful for controlled layout checks, but does not prove identical rendering on every physical model or browser. - Capture representative states. Take screenshots of the initial load, a long page after scrolling, open navigation, and any relevant form, keyboard, dialog, or sticky/fixed interface. Keep URL, content, scroll position, and interaction state consistent when comparing captures.
- Inspect layout and usability. Check for clipped content, horizontal overflow, awkward line breaks, cramped controls, browser or system UI overlap, cropped images, broken sticky elements, and dialogs that do not fit. In a partly folded posture, also check whether text or controls land inconveniently near the crease.
- Check screen transitions when relevant. For models and browser states where cover and main screens are involved, see what happens to the page when moving between them: does the browser resize, reload, or preserve the page state? Samsung’s design guidance says, “If the user is viewing scrollable content, keep the scroll position the same when switching to a different screen.” That guidance concerns foldable design; for a website, verify actual browser behavior rather than assuming app behavior applies. - Validate on real hardware if the check requires it. An owned phone or Samsung Remote Test Lab can reveal the actual browser, browser chrome, system scaling, and model-specific viewport. Keep those captures clearly labeled apart from emulator screenshots; Samsung describes Remote Test Lab as a real-device testing option in its testing guidance.
Samsung Developer’s foldable testing checklist asks, “Is the app to be shown responsively by the screen width, ratio, and size?” The checklist is written for app testing; for websites, use the question as a practical adaptation and check multiple realistic widths and aspect ratios rather than one nominal resolution.

Record the viewport, not just the display resolution
A device’s display pixel dimensions do not state the browser’s effective CSS viewport. Viewport behavior can depend on the model, system scaling, orientation, browser interface, system UI, and software build. Read the viewport from the browser or test environment and report it alongside the model and browser used.
For historical context only, Samsung announced the original Galaxy Z Flip in 2020 with a 6.7-inch, 2636 × 1080-pixel main display and a 1.1-inch, 300 × 112-pixel cover display. Samsung notes that rounded corners and the camera hole reduce the actual viewable area. For current model identification, consult the relevant regional product listing. Samsung’s Saudi Arabia business page, for example, identifies the Galaxy Z Flip8; check specifications for your own region rather than applying one listing universally.

Use emulation for repeatable iteration and real-device testing when browser, system, or model fidelity matters. Samsung recommends checking responsive layout, screen filling, continuity, orientation, cover and main screens, and partially folded use where applicable; what you can test depends on the particular model and browser.

Make captures easy to compare
- Match browser zoom, orientation, device posture, page state, and scroll position.
- Use the same URL and content, and wait for the same relevant page state before capture.
- Compare at realistic responsive widths and aspect ratios, not only at a screen’s nominal pixel resolution.
- Name each file with the model and browser, and add posture, orientation, and viewport to the filename or test notes.
- For long pages, compare the same scroll position; for interaction states, record which menu, form, or dialog is open.
