Log in to your broker’s official app or website, complete the OTP or other second factor it requests, open the dashboard, then use your phone or computer’s built-in screenshot control. The exact capture shortcut depends on your device and operating system. Before sharing the image, inspect it and remove account information the recipient does not need.
Take the screenshot after you reach the dashboard
- Open the broker’s official app or website. Sign in with the credentials the broker requires. Avoid links from unexpected messages; use the official app or navigate to the site yourself.
- Complete the requested second factor. Enter the OTP only in the broker’s login flow. Never share the OTP or your password with someone asking you to send a screenshot.
- Open the dashboard view you need. Check that it is the intended page before capturing.
- Use your device’s built-in screenshot function. The required key combination or gesture varies by device and operating system, so use the instructions for your specific phone or computer rather than assuming one shortcut works everywhere.
- Review the saved image. Crop or redact information that is not needed for its purpose. Do not include passwords, OTPs, or unrelated account details.
Consider the broker’s privacy mode
Privacy controls can reduce what appears in a screenshot, but their coverage varies by broker, app, and page. Check the screen after enabling a mode: do not assume it hides every sensitive field.

Zerodha Kite on the web
Zerodha says Kite web privacy mode hides sensitive financial information on Dashboard, Holdings, Positions, and Funds. Its web instructions say to click the user ID and select the privacy-mode toggle.

Zerodha says the app’s privacy mode hides sensitive information on Holdings, Positions, and Funds. Disabling it requires biometric authentication or 2FA. The listed app coverage differs from the web coverage, so check the particular page you plan to capture.

Login details differ by broker
As one broker-specific example, Zerodha’s Kite app instructions describe entering a registered phone number or user ID and password, then an OTP received by SMS or email, followed by a device lock PIN, biometric, or pattern. The instructions say the second factor must be entered within five minutes of entering login credentials. This is not a universal flow for Indian brokers; follow the prompts for your own account.
Choose a safe way to share the image
- For private reference, store the screenshot somewhere you control and limit access to it.
- For support, capture the error message or relevant screen rather than sending a full account dashboard unless the broker specifically needs it.
- Before sending an image, check for balances, holdings, account identifiers, notifications, and other details that are not necessary for the recipient.
- Keep login credentials and 2FA credentials confidential. Zerodha’s terms say they must not be shared with third parties.
NSE’s My Portfolio facility is separate from a broker login: its terms describe an OTP sent to the mobile number linked with PAN for registration and make users responsible for protecting their credentials. Do not treat instructions for that facility as instructions for your broker account.
