How to Screenshot a Website at Samsung Galaxy S24 Screen Size

Use Chrome DevTools for a repeatable Galaxy S24-like website capture, or Samsung’s Scroll Capture for a long screenshot on the phone. The S24 panel resolution is not its browser CSS viewport.

To capture a website at a Galaxy S24-like size on a computer, use Chrome DevTools’ Device Toolbar, choose or add a mobile profile, and capture either the visible viewport or the full page. Don’t enter the phone’s panel resolution and assume it matches the browser layout: Samsung lists the Galaxy S24 display as 6.2-inch FHD+ (2340 × 1080), but that hardware pixel count is not an established CSS viewport measurement. Samsung’s 2025 4Q Interim Report gives the panel specification.

Choose the capture method that matches your goal

Method Best for What it captures Limitation
Chrome DevTools device emulation A repeatable responsive-layout capture from a computer The current viewport or a full-size page Emulation does not prove identical behavior on a physical S24; use a verified profile or check the phone.
Galaxy Scroll Capture A long screenshot of a page as it appears on your phone The phone screen extended down scrollable content It captures the actual phone session, not a controlled desktop viewport; attainable length varies with content.

Understand S24 screen size versus browser viewport

Physical display resolution describes the panel’s hardware pixel grid. A CSS viewport is the coordinate area a browser uses to lay out a page. The S24’s reported 2340 × 1080 panel resolution does not establish one universal CSS viewport, so entering 1080 × 2340 in DevTools is not a reliable way to guarantee the same responsive layout as the phone.

Browser configuration, orientation, display settings and browser interface state can affect the dimensions observed in use. If the exact S24 browser layout matters, verify it on the phone or with a device profile whose dimensions you have confirmed. A desktop-site request is a separate choice: Samsung Internet’s More > Desktop version asks for PC content; it does not make the phone’s responsive viewport a particular size.

Screenshot a website with Chrome DevTools

  1. Open the target page in desktop Chrome, then open DevTools.
  2. Turn on the Device Toolbar. Select a suitable mobile profile if one is available in your Chrome installation. To define one, use the Device Toolbar’s device list and add a custom mobile device by entering its name, width and height. See Chrome DevTools device mode documentation for the emulation and capture options.
  3. Set the desired orientation: use portrait for the usual phone layout or rotate to landscape when that is the state you need to inspect. Set the emulated device type to mobile where relevant.
  4. Choose dimensions appropriate to the browser configuration you are trying to represent. Do not treat the S24 panel’s 2340 × 1080 specification as proof of its CSS viewport dimensions.
  5. Load or refresh the page after changing the profile, then inspect the responsive layout.
  6. In the Device Toolbar, open More options and choose Capture screenshot for the currently visible viewport, or Capture a full size screenshot to include page content outside it.

A viewport capture is limited to what is visible in the emulated screen area. A full-size capture extends beyond that area to include the page’s content below it.

Take a long website screenshot on a Galaxy phone

Samsung’s Scroll Capture extends a screenshot down a scrollable page; it captures the phone session rather than creating a desktop-style emulation. Samsung’s instructions are documented at Samsung Support: take a screenshot on your Galaxy phone.

  1. On the phone, go to Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder and turn on Show toolbar after capturing.
  2. Open the webpage you want to capture and press Power + Volume Down together.
  3. When the screenshot toolbar appears, tap Scroll Capture to extend the image downward. Tap again or press and hold the Scroll Capture icon to continue farther.
  4. Tap outside the toolbar to finish and save the image. Samsung says it is automatically resized and saved to Gallery; the available scroll length depends on the content.

Check Samsung Internet behavior separately

If the task is to see what a Samsung Internet user gets, test on that browser or validate the relevant behavior on the target phone. Samsung documents requesting PC content through More > Desktop version and describes testing with Chrome developer tools or user-agent switching in its Samsung Internet testing guide. Changing a user agent and setting a viewport are separate operations; changing only the user agent does not guarantee identical physical-device behavior.

Samsung Internet also supports Samsung DeX for desktop browsing, and Samsung recommends responsive design for larger DeX windows. That is a desktop-window scenario, not the ordinary phone-screen layout covered by this guide; see the Samsung Internet Web Development Guide.

ScreenshotNeo can return a website screenshot with one GET request. It accepts cookie banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; you can turn each step off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and whether it was billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents use the take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf tools.

Use the viewport parameters supported by the API to set the dimensions you want to capture. For exact S24 fidelity, use dimensions verified on the target device rather than assuming the panel resolution is its CSS viewport. See the ScreenshotNeo documentation.

Troubleshoot common capture problems

  • The layout does not look like the S24. Confirm the emulated width and height and orientation. Panel resolution is not proof of CSS viewport dimensions; validate on the handset if matching behavior is important.
  • The screenshot only shows the top portion. In DevTools choose Capture a full size screenshot rather than Capture screenshot. On the phone, use Scroll Capture and continue until the desired content is included.
  • The Scroll Capture button is missing. Enable Show toolbar after capturing in Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder, then take a new screenshot of a scrollable page.
  • The phone screenshot stops before the end of the page. Continue tapping or press and hold Scroll Capture; Samsung notes that the amount captured varies with page content.
  • A page still serves a desktop layout on the phone. Check whether Samsung Internet’s More > Desktop version is enabled. That option requests PC content rather than setting a mobile viewport.
