To capture a website as it appears on an iPhone 15 Pro Max, use Safari on the phone and press and quickly release the side button and volume-up button together. A portrait screenshot matches the display’s 1290 × 2796-pixel resolution. For a whole webpage, choose Full Page in the screenshot interface when it is available.
Take a screenshot of the visible webpage on iPhone
- Open the website in Safari and position the page as you want it to appear.
- Press and quickly release the side button and volume-up button at the same time.
- Use the screenshot preview to crop, annotate, share, or save the capture. Screenshots are saved to Photos by default; the preview flow can vary with iOS version and screen-capture settings.
This captures the screen as currently displayed. It will not include the rest of a webpage that extends below the screen.

Capture a full webpage instead
For a long Safari webpage, the screenshot interface may offer a Full Page option. This creates a tall webpage capture rather than a screen-sized image.

Know which iPhone 15 Pro Max dimensions you need
The iPhone 15 Pro Max display resolution is 1290 × 2796 pixels in portrait orientation (Apple lists it width-first as 2796 × 1290 pixels at 460 ppi). For responsive layout work, its logical dimensions are 430 × 932 points at a 3× pixel scale. These are related but different measurements: points describe the logical screen size, while pixels describe the display image dimensions.
| Use case | Dimension to use | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| Describe a portrait screen-sized screenshot | 1290 × 2796 pixels | Pixel dimensions of the rendered display image |
| Configure a logical responsive viewport | 430 × 932 points at 3× | Logical screen dimensions and pixel scale |
| Preserve a long webpage | Not a fixed screen-sized dimension | A full-page image or PDF extending beyond the visible display |
Apple lists the physical display specification on its iPhone 15 Pro Max tech specs page and the logical dimensions in its layout guidance.

Preview the iPhone-sized layout on a Mac
Safari’s Responsive Design Mode lets you inspect a webpage at a chosen viewport size and pixel ratio without taking a screenshot on the phone.
- Open the webpage in Safari on Mac.
- Enable Safari’s web-developer features if they are not already enabled.
- Enter Responsive Design Mode from Safari’s developer tools.
- Select a device-size preset or set the viewport dimensions to 430 × 932 points and the pixel ratio to 3×.
Apple describes the available viewport controls in its Responsive Design Mode documentation. The presets approximate device dimensions; they do not exactly reproduce real-device layout and behavior. For a more device-specific preview, Apple documents opening a webpage with Simulator. Even Simulator remains a simulation, not a screenshot captured from the physical iPhone. See WebKit’s overview of Responsive Design Mode for its Simulator workflow context.

Set the webpage viewport for iOS
If you are developing a page specifically for iOS, Apple’s archived viewport guidance recommends setting the viewport width to device-width. For example:
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
This controls webpage layout scaling; it does not change the iPhone’s panel resolution. Apple’s archived viewport guidance explains the role of device-width.

Choose the capture method for the result you need
| Goal | Method | Result | Limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Show what is visible on the phone | Native iPhone screenshot | Screen-sized image | Does not include the rest of a long webpage |
| Keep a whole long webpage | Safari Full Page screenshot | Long image or PDF | Different artifact from the visible screen; availability may vary |
| Check a responsive layout without the phone | Safari Responsive Design Mode | Adjustable preview | Approximation rather than exact real-device rendering |
| Preview iOS-specific behavior in a simulated device | Safari’s Simulator workflow | Simulator-rendered webpage | Not a capture made on the physical iPhone |
Troubleshoot common screenshot problems
The screenshot is not the full webpage
A normal hardware-button screenshot captures only what is visible. Retake it and look for Full Page in the screenshot interface while the webpage is open in Safari. If the option is not available for that page or iOS context, the normal capture remains screen-sized.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →The screenshot dimensions do not match 1290 × 2796 pixels
Check that you are looking at a portrait, screen-sized screenshot from the iPhone 15 Pro Max rather than a resized, cropped, landscape, or full-page export. A full-page capture is taller than the display, and a responsive preview is not itself a native-device screenshot.

The Safari preview differs from the phone
Responsive Design Mode is an approximation. Browser controls, keyboard state, and iOS-specific rendering can affect what appears on a real device. Use the iPhone to capture evidence of the physical-device result, or use Safari’s Simulator workflow for a more device-specific preview.
Or skip the browser setup
For a developer who needs a screenshot from a URL, ScreenshotNeo offers a website screenshot API. One GET request returns an image or PDF; the example below saves a WebP capture of the Stripe homepage:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. ScreenshotNeo can accept cookie and consent banners and remove more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each of these steps can be turned off. Bot checks and CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses identify the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.
