In Chrome, open DevTools, turn on the device toolbar, choose Responsive, and enter the CSS viewport dimensions you want to test. Use More options → Capture screenshot for the visible area, or Capture full size screenshot for the whole page. Test the Pixel Fold’s cover and inner displays as separate layouts: Google’s published panel resolutions are not CSS viewport dimensions.
Set up a Pixel Fold-sized viewport in Chrome
- Open the website in Chrome, then open DevTools.
- Click Toggle device toolbar in the DevTools action bar.
- Open the device toolbar’s Dimensions selector and choose Responsive.
- Enter the CSS width and height for the display configuration you want to represent. If your installed Chrome version offers an appropriate device profile, use it as a starting point; Chrome’s documentation does not guarantee that a Pixel Fold preset is available in every version.
- Choose portrait or landscape. Rotate the emulated view when you need to test the other orientation.
- To set device pixel ratio (DPR), open More options → Add device pixel ratio and enter the value required by your test.
These controls are documented in Chrome’s Device Mode guide. DPR is the ratio between hardware screen pixels and CSS pixels; it is not interchangeable with the viewport’s CSS width and height.

Test the cover and inner screens separately
The original Google Pixel Fold has two distinct displays. Google lists the cover display at 2092 × 1080 physical pixels and the inner folding display at 2208 × 1840 physical pixels on its Pixel comparison page. These are panel-resolution specifications, not verified CSS viewport dimensions for a particular Android and Chrome configuration.
Do not type those panel figures directly into DevTools’ CSS width and height fields on the assumption that the units match. The reviewed specifications do not establish the CSS viewport or DPR for a particular Pixel Fold configuration. For exact dimensions, inspect the target device and browser, or use a suitable device profile and verify the result on the phone.

Capture the viewport or the full page
With the device toolbar enabled, open More options and choose the capture type that matches your purpose:
- Capture screenshot records the currently visible viewport.
- Capture full size screenshot includes page content outside the visible viewport.
Use a viewport capture to check what a visitor sees at one point in the page. Use a full-size capture when you need a record of the complete page, including content below the fold.

Know what Device Mode can and cannot show
Device Mode is a convenient first-order approximation, not a screenshot produced by running the page on a Pixel Fold. Chrome notes that emulation does not execute the page on a phone; device-specific hardware or software behavior may differ. For documentation or checks where real-device behavior matters, confirm the page on the physical phone.

Troubleshooting
- The screenshot is the wrong size: check that you selected Responsive and entered CSS viewport dimensions, rather than the phone’s physical panel resolution. Check DPR separately if output pixel dimensions matter.
- You cannot find a Pixel Fold preset: Chrome does not guarantee a Pixel Fold profile in every version. Use Responsive dimensions or a suitable profile as a starting point, then verify the configuration on the device if exactness matters.
- The capture omits content lower on the page: choose Capture full size screenshot instead of the visible-viewport option.
- The layout differs from the phone: Device Mode approximates a mobile viewport from desktop Chrome. Check the site on the physical Pixel Fold for behavior affected by the actual device or software environment.
