The full-size option captures a page taller than the visible screen; it is not a screen-sized screenshot. The saved image’s pixel dimensions can also depend on DevTools and browser capture behavior, so check the resulting file rather than inferring its exact dimensions from the CSS viewport.
Use CSS viewport dimensions, not the display specification
A phone’s screen dimensions and the browser’s CSS layout viewport are different measurements. For the Galaxy Z Fold7 unfolded in portrait, Effective Viewport reports device dimensions of 750 × 832 CSS pixels, but measured Chrome layout viewports of 749 × 654 CSS pixels with expanded browser UI and 749 × 750 CSS pixels with collapsed UI. The page states the measurements were taken with Android 16 and Chrome 134.0.6998.135. These are measurements for that device and browser configuration, not a manufacturer guarantee or a preset for all foldables. (Effective Viewport: Galaxy Z Fold7 unfolded)
For context, the same source lists a folded portrait device size of 412 × 960 CSS pixels and measured browser viewports of 411 × 814 and 411 × 870 CSS pixels, again with different browser-UI states. Those cover-screen figures are not the inner-screen target. (Effective Viewport: Galaxy Z Fold7 folded)

For another foldable, browser, orientation, or display setting, measure or verify that configuration rather than copying these values.
Set device pixel ratio only when density matters
Chrome defines device pixel ratio (DPR) as the ratio between physical screen pixels and logical CSS pixels. The cited Galaxy Z Fold7 measurements list a DPR of 2.625. To expose the DPR setting in DevTools, open More options → Add device pixel ratio, then select the value you want. (Chrome DevTools Device Mode)
Recommended Free Tools
Set DPR when testing density-sensitive rendering or when matching a target device’s pixel density is part of the task. It is not a substitute for setting the correct CSS viewport. Because DevTools and browser capture behavior can affect output dimensions, verify the saved image’s actual pixel size.
Test responsive breakpoints and foldable posture
Check nearby widths and orientations
Turn on Show media queries in the device toolbar to inspect breakpoints, then test around the target width rather than relying on a single screenshot. If the site must work in landscape too, set and test a separate landscape viewport; portrait measurements do not establish landscape behavior. (Chrome DevTools Device Mode)
Emulate posture or display segments when the layout uses them
A custom responsive width and height is generally enough to test an ordinary unfolded viewport. If the site changes layout based on folded posture, hinge position, or multiple display segments, also use the foldable posture or display-feature emulation available in your DevTools version. Chrome documents continuous and folded posture controls for supported devices, and the DevTools Protocol Emulation domain includes device-posture and display-feature concepts. Available controls depend on the tool version and supported device configuration. (Chrome DevTools Device Mode; Chrome DevTools Protocol: Emulation)

Know what a DevTools screenshot does—and does not—prove
Chrome calls Device Mode “a first-order approximation of how your page looks and feels on a mobile device.” It simulates a mobile experience from a desktop and cannot reproduce every mobile-device characteristic. A screenshot proves how the page rendered at the emulated settings; it does not prove real-device hinge behavior, touch input, performance, or browser behavior. If any of those matter, check the page on a physical foldable. You can use remote debugging to inspect a page running on a connected phone. (Chrome DevTools Device Mode)
Microsoft Edge’s Chromium-based device-emulation guidance describes the same general approach—responsive numeric dimensions, optional DPR and device type, posture where supported, and visible or full-page capture—and likewise cautions that desktop emulation is an approximation. (Microsoft Edge device emulation)

-
The page does not match the phone’s layout. Confirm that the Dimensions mode is Responsive and that you entered CSS viewport dimensions, not a physical display specification. Check media queries around the chosen width.
-
The screenshot is much taller than the screen. You selected Capture a full size screenshot. Use Capture screenshot for only the visible viewport.
-
The content height differs from the phone. Browser UI state changes the available layout height. Test the height appropriate to the state you want to represent; the cited Z Fold7 measurement is 654 CSS pixels with expanded UI and 750 with collapsed UI.

- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[4]
- As stunning as it is strong: Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s ultra-durable composite back is lighter, stronger, and designed to be nearly impossible to crack[5,6]; and with scratch-resistant glass and an all-new hinge, it’s 3x stronger[5]
- Unfold the fun: Drift away into immersive entertainment on the brighter-than-ever 8-inch screen[2]; take it into tabletop mode for hands-free streaming of your favorite content
- Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones
-
Image dimensions do not match your expectation. CSS viewport size and output image pixels are not interchangeable. Check whether DPR is set as intended and inspect the saved image’s actual dimensions.
-
A hinge-aware layout still looks wrong. Width and height alone do not emulate posture or display segments. Enable supported foldable posture/display-feature controls, then verify on the actual device if behavior matters.
-
The emulated result differs from the phone. Device Mode is an approximation. Validate with a physical foldable and remote debugging for device-specific behavior.

ScreenshotNeo can return a screenshot or PDF from one GET request. Its capture flow accepts cookie and consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each of these steps can be turned off. Bot checks and CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. It also provides an MCP server for AI agents, with take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools. Learn more at ScreenshotNeo.
