If you want prerecorded videos to keep playing on YouTube while your computer is off, compare cloud playout services first. StreamNeo is the first alternative to consider: it runs uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. OneStream Live also has a dedicated 24/7 feature, but its help page says that feature is YouTube-only, requires Enterprise, and is limited to 30 days per configured run. If you mean a live camera, gameplay, or other produced feed, an encoder such as OBS is a different, self-managed workflow.
Choose by what you want to stream
Continuous playback of prerecorded files and a live or produced feed are different jobs. A cloud playout service hosts uploaded videos and loops a playlist; an encoder sends a live feed from a computer or other operating setup. Decide which describes your channel before comparing plans.

- Prerecorded videos: You want a playlist to run continuously, often with your own computer turned off. Compare cloud playout services.
- Live or produced feed: You are sending camera, gameplay, or a composed program feed. An encoder workflow such as OBS may fit, but you must operate and monitor the system that produces the stream.
OneStream describes prerecorded streaming, playlists, scheduling, external encoder input, and multistreaming. Its dedicated 24/7 feature is narrower than that wider product description: the help article says it is for YouTube only.

Alternatives for a nonstop prerecorded YouTube stream
1. StreamNeo: cloud looping without a computer left running
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for keeping a channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops the content in the cloud. The same product is included on every plan; only the billing length changes. Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, playlists, 24/7 looping, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and StreamNeo team support. Your upload streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode or quality tiers.

2. Gyre: another cloud playlist option
Gyre’s official product page describes a workflow of uploading files, making a playlist, connecting YouTube, and letting the playlist loop continuously in the cloud. That makes it a relevant candidate when your priority is prerecorded playback without keeping a local computer running. The workflow description is vendor-published; it does not establish independently verified uptime or recovery performance. Check current destination support, plan limits, storage, and price directly with Gyre before choosing it. See Gyre’s official product page and its guide to streaming prerecorded video.

OneStream’s help article says its 24/7 stream is exclusive to YouTube, requires Enterprise, and can run for up to 30 days per configured run. OneStream’s public pricing page lists “24-Hours Streams” at $30/month. That page and the help article do not describe eligibility in exactly the same way: the help article says Enterprise is required, while the pricing page lists the add-on. Confirm your plan eligibility and the complete bill with OneStream before switching; the add-on price alone does not establish the total subscription cost. See OneStream pricing.
4. OBS or another encoder: for a feed you produce yourself
OneStream lists OBS, XSplit, vMix, and Wirecast as encoder integrations. An OBS-based route can suit a live or composed feed, but it is self-managed: playback and stream continuity depend on the computer or server, its power and internet connection, and someone’s monitoring and response when something fails. Hardware, electricity, hosting, and maintenance all affect cost. No specific computer specification or reliability level is established here, so choose equipment for the actual workload rather than assuming a particular mini PC will be sufficient.

Check OneStream’s free tier before relying on it
OneStream’s free-plan help article, last updated August 24, 2026, says prerecorded live streams are limited to 15 minutes, playlists are unavailable, maximum resolution is 720p, and storage is capped at 1 GB. That free tier therefore does not provide the continuous playlist workflow described in this article. See OneStream’s free-plan details.

- Enable Live and verify the channel early. Google’s YouTube live-streaming guide advises: “Enable Live on your channel at least 24 hours in advance and make sure your account is verified before you do so”. Do this ahead of your planned start; the advice is general and does not establish every requirement for every cloud prerecorded workflow. See the Google / YouTube Live Streaming Guide.
- Choose the workflow and confirm plan eligibility. For a playlist that should run while your computer is off, check cloud service limits, destination support, storage, and total price. For OneStream’s 24/7 feature, confirm Enterprise eligibility and the total subscription bill.
- Prepare the files or feed. For cloud playout, upload the intended videos and arrange the playlist. For an encoder, make sure the system producing the feed is ready and will be operated and monitored for the length of the stream.
- Use the stream key only in the intended service. Add the YouTube stream key to the selected cloud service or encoder, following its current setup instructions. Treat the key as a credential: do not publish it or share it.
- Run a private test of the full setup. Google recommends privately testing the complete stream setup, including internet connection, camera framing, audio capture quality, and lighting. Adapt the test to the chosen workflow; a prerecorded cloud playlist may not use a camera, but you should still confirm the expected video and audio reach YouTube before a public launch.
Costs and practical trade-offs
Compare the full operating cost, not just a headline add-on or computer purchase. A cloud service replaces the need to leave your own machine running for playback, but you should still check its billing period, included storage, plan limits, and what happens if a stream stops. OneStream’s listed $30/month add-on is not necessarily the full cost because the provider’s help page says Enterprise is required while its pricing page lists the add-on separately. A self-managed encoder can avoid a dedicated cloud-playout subscription, but power, hardware, hosting, monitoring, and time remain part of the cost.
