Once the page shows that choice and its corresponding price, capture them together with the product name if possible. That records what the page displayed at that moment—not a promise that the price or availability will stay the same.
Why the price may change after you choose an option
A product can have different prices, images, or availability for different variants. Some stores show a price range before selection; others update the product details dynamically after you choose an option. Google describes both single-page product pages, where details change without a reload, and setups where variants have separate pages. Wix, for example, documents per-variant prices and an optional “From” price range. These are examples of store behavior, not a guarantee about how any particular retailer works.

Shopify’s developer guidance says product media and price should reflect the newly selected variant (Shopify variant guidance). If a price has not appeared, confirm that the exact option is selected and allow the page to update before capturing.

- Open the product listing in a browser and scroll to the product details.
- Select the exact size, color, or other option you need. If the seller or purchase option affects the displayed price, select that too.
- Wait for the selected option and price to appear. Some pages update dynamically without reloading.
- Frame the image so the product name, selected option, and price are legible together. Close unrelated notifications and keep personal details out of the capture where practical.
- Take the screenshot using your device’s built-in capture control.

These commonly used shortcuts are general guidance; controls can vary by device model and operating-system version. Check your device maker’s current instructions if they do not work.

When the product details do not fit on one screen
Use a full-page or scrolling screenshot if your browser or device supports it. If not, take sequential captures as you scroll, with a small overlap between images and the same zoom level throughout. Overlap helps show that the images belong to one continuous page; consistent zoom keeps text and prices easier to compare.
What makes a useful price screenshot
- Variant clarity: The selected size, color, or other option is visible.
- Price clarity: The relevant price is legible in the same image.
- Product identity: The product name or another clear identifier is included.
- Page context: Include the seller, purchase option, or price label if it is needed to interpret the amount.
- Coverage: Use one full-page capture when it covers the needed details; otherwise preserve the sequence with overlapping images.

- The price still has not appeared: Check that you selected an actual variant rather than only hovering over or opening the option menu, then wait for the product details to update. Some products display a range or “From” price instead of a single selected price.
- The screenshot shows the wrong price: Recheck the selected variant and, where relevant, the seller or purchase option. Wait for the visible price to match before capturing.
- The variant is selected but not visible in the image: Reframe the capture to include the option label, or take an additional overlapping capture that preserves the page context.
- The screenshot shortcut does not work: Device controls differ across versions and models. Use the screenshot command or instructions for your specific device.
