On Android 12 and later, take a long screenshot of a scrollable webpage by pressing Power + Volume Down, then tapping Capture more and adjusting the crop. A fixed bottom banner may remain visible as the page scrolls, but its exact appearance in the saved image depends on the device, browser, and capture behavior—check the result rather than assuming the banner will appear once or be removed.
Take a scrolling screenshot of the webpage
- Open the website in your Android browser and bring the page to the part you want to capture.
- Press Power and Volume Down at the same time. On some phones, you can instead hold the Power button and tap Screenshot.
- When the screenshot controls appear, tap Capture more. Drag the crop guidelines to include the page content you need.
- Save or edit the image from the screenshot preview. To find it later, Google’s instructions point to Photos → Collections → On this device → Screenshots; some phones use a Gallery app instead.
- Open the saved image and inspect both the banner and the bottom edge. Android’s instructions cover most scrollable screens, not every website or browser.
Google documents this extended-capture workflow for devices running Android 12 and up. If the button shortcut does not work on your phone, button behavior may differ by manufacturer; consult your phone maker’s support guidance. Choose between a normal and scrolling screenshot

If Capture more is unavailable, take ordinary screenshots at successive scroll positions. This is a manual workaround, not a guaranteed seamless full-page capture. A fixed banner may be repeated across images, and assembling them may require cropping or manual editing. Google’s instructions do not prescribe a stitching app or promise a seamless result.
Why the fixed banner may stay on screen
A mobile webpage is larger than the part visible through the browser. Chrome’s viewport explanation distinguishes the page’s layout viewport from the currently visible area. An element styled with CSS position: fixed is positioned against that viewport, so it can remain at the bottom of the visible screen while the document content scrolls. As a result, a fixed banner can remain visible in the screen area used for capture. That browser behavior does not establish whether Android’s extended screenshot will repeat, suppress, or otherwise handle the banner in a particular way.

When Chrome’s bottom edge changes what you see
On small-screen Android devices, Chrome 135 introduced edge-to-edge drawing into the gesture-navigation-bar area. Chrome describes a dynamic bottom bar, sometimes called the “chin,” that moves out of the way as the reader scrolls. The rollout uses Chrome Variations, so availability depends on the Chrome version and rollout as well as device conditions.
In edge-to-edge conditions, a website element positioned at the bottom may be partly obscured by Android’s navigation bar after the browser’s bottom bar moves. This is a display issue in the page, not a screenshot setting. Chrome’s migration guide advises site owners to account for the bottom safe-area inset when positioning bottom-fixed content.
