To capture a website on a recurring schedule and store each image in OneDrive, use Power Automate: a desktop flow opens the site and takes the screenshot, while a scheduled cloud flow runs that desktop flow and a OneDrive for Business action uploads the file. In the schedule, select India Standard Time and check the next run shown by the designer. OneDrive’s old “Save screenshots to OneDrive” setting is not a website-capture scheduler.
What you need before building the workflow
- Power Automate for desktop installed and a machine available to run the browser automation.
- A browser and the target website URL.
- A Power Automate connection and an eligible work or school account if a cloud flow will start the desktop flow.
- A OneDrive for Business connection with access to the destination folder.
- If the desktop flow must run unattended, verify that your current licensing includes the required Power Automate Process plan and that the machine can create the required remote desktop session. Microsoft’s licensing and machine constraints can change; check the live requirements before deployment.
These instructions concern website captures initiated by Power Automate, not backing up screenshots you already take on your computer. Microsoft’s documentation says the former OneDrive setting called “Save screenshots to OneDrive” is no longer available in OneDrive settings: Microsoft Support.

Build the browser screenshot desktop flow
- Open Power Automate for desktop and create a desktop flow. Add browser-launch or browser-navigation actions to open the target URL in the browser you intend to automate.
- Wait for the page to be ready. A fixed delay can be sufficient for a predictable page; for variable load times, use an appropriate wait condition where available. If you capture too early, the saved image may show a loading state or incomplete content.
- Add the screenshot action. Power Automate for desktop documents an action for capturing the currently displayed webpage or a webpage element, with output saved to a file or clipboard. Confirm the action’s actual scope and configuration: do not assume it captures a whole long page beyond the visible browser area. See Microsoft’s browser automation actions reference.
- Save the image to a local path. Choose the image format and destination supported by the configured action. Give each run a distinct name, for example by incorporating the date and time, so a later capture does not overwrite an earlier one. This is an implementation choice; test your chosen filename expression in your own flow.
- Save and run the desktop flow manually. Inspect the image file before adding the recurrence. Verify that the browser reached the intended page and that the screenshot is legible.
For a site with consent prompts, popups, or content that loads after interaction, decide whether those elements should appear in the capture. The desktop screenshot captures what the browser displays; add suitable browser actions or waits if the intended page state requires them.

Schedule the capture for India time
There are two documented ways to arrange recurring execution. The established approach is a scheduled cloud flow that starts a desktop flow. Microsoft also documents a Scheduled triggers feature for desktop flows, but identifies it as preview and notes that regional rollout affects availability.
#1 Best Overall
- Easily store and access 2TB to content on the go with the Seagate Portable Drive, a USB external hard drive
- Designed to work with Windows or Mac computers, this external hard drive makes backup a snap just drag and drop
- To get set up, connect the portable hard drive to a computer for automatic recognition no software required
- This USB drive provides plug and play simplicity with the included 18 inch USB 3.0 cable
- The available storage capacity may vary.
| Route | How it runs | Availability and checks |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduled cloud flow | A recurrence trigger in a cloud flow invokes the desktop flow through its machine connection. | Requires the machine, connection, account, and licensing setup for cloud-triggered desktop flows. |
| Desktop Scheduled triggers | A scheduled trigger starts the desktop flow directly where the feature is available. | Documented as preview; availability can depend on regional rollout. Confirm it is present in your environment before relying on it. |
Recommended: scheduled cloud flow plus desktop flow
- In Power Automate, create a Scheduled cloud flow and configure its recurrence for the desired daily, weekly, or other cadence. Microsoft’s setup guidance is at Run a cloud flow on a schedule.
- Choose the time zone matching the intended business time. For India, select India Standard Time in the current time-zone selector. The designer may represent a start-time field in UTC; use the selected time zone for interpretation and review the displayed next run rather than guessing at a conversion.
- Add the action to run a desktop flow and select the capture flow, machine or machine group, and connection configured for it. Microsoft’s guide covers the cloud-to-desktop setup at Trigger desktop flows from cloud flows.
- Save the cloud flow and inspect its next scheduled run in the designer. Run it once manually if available, then confirm the desktop flow starts on the intended machine.
Alternative: desktop Scheduled triggers
If your environment exposes Microsoft’s Scheduled triggers for desktop flows, configure the recurrence and select the time zone that matches the intended business time. Choose India Standard Time for an India-local schedule and verify the next run. The feature is documented as preview, and Microsoft warns that rollout can vary by region; its requirements and current availability are described in Schedule desktop flows with Scheduled triggers (preview).
Upload each image to OneDrive
After the desktop flow saves the image, use a OneDrive for Business connector file action to create or upload a file in the destination folder. The connector supports file-management actions; the exact labels and fields can vary by designer and account. See Microsoft’s OneDrive for Business connector reference.
Rank #2
- Easily store and access 5TB of content on the go with the Seagate portable drive, a USB external hard Drive
- Designed to work with Windows or Mac computers, this external hard drive makes backup a snap just drag and drop
- To get set up, connect the portable hard drive to a computer for automatic recognition software required
- This USB drive provides plug and play simplicity with the included 18 inch USB 3.0 cable
- The available storage capacity may vary.
- In the cloud flow, add the appropriate OneDrive for Business file-creation action after the desktop flow completes, or arrange the upload within your automation design using the available connector actions.
- Select the signed-in OneDrive account and destination folder deliberately; accounts with similar names can point to different storage locations.
- Pass the screenshot file’s content and the unique filename to the file action. Ensure the local file is available to the flow and machine at upload time.
- Run a test and open the resulting file in OneDrive. Check its folder, name, content, and whether a later run creates a new file rather than replacing the test capture.
OneDrive folder backup can protect files that already exist in backed-up folders such as Pictures, but that is a separate feature: it does not visit websites, capture them, or establish a recurrence.
Validate recurrence, storage, and run mode
- Page state: the screenshot shows the expected URL and content rather than a blank page, loading spinner, sign-in prompt, or browser error.
- Capture scope: the visible region or selected webpage element is the scope you intended; check full-page requirements separately instead of assuming them.
- File naming: consecutive runs produce distinct names if you need a history of captures.
- OneDrive destination: the file lands in the intended account and folder and can be opened.
- Schedule: the next-run display and run history match the recurrence and India time you configured.
- Machine and licensing: the machine is registered and connected, the account is eligible, and the run mode is supported. For unattended desktop flows, Microsoft says a remote desktop session is created on the machine; review its current requirements at Run unattended desktop flows.
Troubleshooting common failures
The flow runs at the wrong local time
Check the recurrence’s selected time zone, not just the displayed start-time value. Set India Standard Time in the current selector and review the next-run preview. If the newer desktop Scheduled triggers feature is absent, use the scheduled cloud-flow route or verify its rollout status.

The screenshot is blank or incomplete
Confirm the browser opened the correct URL and that the page had time to render before the screenshot action. Add or adjust a wait condition, and test whether the page requires a login, consent choice, or interaction. The documented screenshot action covers the currently displayed webpage or a webpage element; verify whether that meets your desired page coverage.
The desktop flow does not start from the cloud flow
Check that the machine or machine group is registered, available, and selected in the desktop-flow action; verify the connection and signed-in account. Review the current account and licensing prerequisites in Microsoft’s cloud-trigger setup guidance.

The unattended run cannot create a session
Verify the machine’s remote-session constraints and that the account has the required entitlement for unattended execution. Microsoft’s current guidance explains the remote-session behavior and requirements at Run unattended desktop flows.

Or skip the browser setup
If you need a screenshot API rather than a Power Automate browser workflow, ScreenshotNeo returns a screenshot from one GET request; use its API when that capture-and-response workflow fits your setup. This does not by itself create a recurring OneDrive schedule: you would still need to schedule the request and store the returned file in OneDrive.
cURL example, adapting the target URL as needed:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request details. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed. It also has an MCP server with screenshot tools for AI agents. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Frequently Asked Questions
Can I schedule a website screenshot without OneDrive’s screenshot setting?
Yes. OneDrive’s former screenshot setting is unavailable, but a Power Automate recurrence can run a browser desktop flow and upload its image using a OneDrive for Business file action.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesCan Power Automate capture a full webpage?
The documented desktop screenshot action captures the currently displayed webpage or a webpage element. Check the action’s configuration and output against your full-page needs; do not assume it captures content beyond the visible area.
Can I use ScreenshotNeo for a recurring OneDrive capture?
ScreenshotNeo returns an image from an API request, but recurrence and OneDrive storage require separate scheduling and file-upload steps.
