Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Schedule each broadcast as a separate event in YouTube Studio, then use a clearly named OBS Profile to connect the right stream key when it is time to go live. A stream key routes OBS’s encoder feed to YouTube; it does not select a playlist. Check playlist organization in YouTube Studio rather than relying on OBS or the key.
What YouTube Studio and OBS each control
- YouTube Studio: the scheduled event, its watch page, title and other metadata, and the event’s connection details.
- OBS: the encoder connection and output configuration. Profiles save stream and output settings; Scene Collections save scenes.
YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” A key is a credential for routing the encoder feed, not a playlist selector. See YouTube’s guidance on managing live stream settings.

Schedule a separate event for each broadcast
- In YouTube Studio, choose Create, then Go Live.
- Open the Manage tab and choose Schedule Stream. Create a distinct event for each broadcast that needs its own time, title, watch page, or playlist organization. YouTube’s documented scheduling flow is described in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Enter and review the event details in YouTube Studio. You can create new settings or reuse prior settings. Reuse settings copies the prior stream’s metadata, key, and other settings; edit the new event afterward to ensure its details are correct. Choose a new event when carrying over the previous setup would risk retaining an unintended title, key, or other setting.
- Review the scheduled event editor for playlist controls. YouTube’s help documents event scheduling and metadata editing, but does not establish a playlist selector or confirm that a playlist can be assigned before the broadcast. If no playlist control is available, add the resulting video to the intended playlist through that video’s details in YouTube Studio after the stream is created. Do not expect the key or OBS to assign it.
Scheduling can make an upcoming event visible to subscribers, who may see it in their feeds and choose Notify me. You can also share the scheduled stream’s URL. See YouTube’s live-streaming guide.
Choose whether to reuse a key or keep separate keys
- Reuse one key when the same encoder destination and configuration are appropriate for multiple broadcasts. YouTube allows custom keys to be reused.
- Use distinct custom keys when separate credentials make it easier for your team to distinguish configurations or destinations. Name the corresponding OBS Profiles clearly, and treat every key as a secret credential.
- Do not use key choice as playlist organization. Either approach routes the encoder feed; playlist membership must be checked in YouTube Studio.
When using YouTube’s Reuse settings option, remember it copies the key as well as metadata and other settings. Confirm that this is intentional before using the event.

It also allows you to link HDMI devices (e.g., cameras or classroom equipment) to teaching computers or projectors for better interactivity. Enables HDMI cameras or sources to connect to computers or streaming devices for high-quality live broadcasts
- UVC to HDMI Decoder: Convert UVC cameras (e.g., USB webcams, action cameras) to HDMI signals for easy connection to conference equipment or large displays or ATEM switcher, enhancing video quality and participation. In education and training, convert UVC signals to HDMI for display on large screens
- SRT/HDMI Encoder & Decoder:SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) provides secure, low-latency video transmission with enhanced stability over challenging network conditions. ZowieBox enables bidirectional conversion between HDMI and SRT streams, allowing reliable remote production, live streaming, and video contribution workflows with high-quality transmission even across long-distance networks.
Save the configurations in OBS
- Create an OBS Profile for each reusable stream configuration and give it an unmistakable name, such as Morning stream — key A. OBS Profiles include stream and output settings. Follow the current OBS interface; the official Profiles documentation explains what a Profile stores.
- For each Profile, configure the relevant streaming service and the stream key that matches the intended YouTube event. Copy the connection information from that event in YouTube Studio, and avoid sharing or exposing the key.
- If broadcasts also need different layouts, sources, or scenes, create and name a separate Scene Collection as well. A Profile does not save scenes; OBS keeps Profiles and Scene Collections separate. See the OBS Profiles documentation for the distinction.
Connect OBS to the scheduled event and go live
- At broadcast time, select the OBS Profile for the intended event.
- In YouTube Studio, open the scheduled stream and check that the selected event and the key configured in OBS match.
- Start streaming in OBS. In YouTube’s Live Control Room, confirm the incoming preview and follow the on-screen flow to go live when required. YouTube’s encoder instructions describe connecting with the stream URL and key, then waiting for the preview before selecting Go live: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
Observe YouTube’s simultaneous stream limits
YouTube’s 2026 live-streaming help states a ceiling of 10 active streams per channel and 3 active streams per stream key; both limits apply at the same time. Multiple keys do not bypass the channel-wide limit. Check YouTube’s current live-streaming guidance before planning concurrent broadcasts, since platform limits and interface details can change.
Troubleshooting common mix-ups
- The broadcast appears under the wrong scheduled event: stop before going live and compare the event open in YouTube Studio with the selected OBS Profile and key. Change to the intended Profile and confirm the event again.
- The stream connects, but the video is not in the expected playlist: a successful key connection does not assign playlist membership. Check the event editor for an available playlist control; otherwise add the created video to the playlist in its YouTube Studio details.
- The wrong title or event details appear: review whether you used Reuse settings. It copies metadata along with the key and other settings, so edit the new event before broadcasting.
- The OBS layout is wrong even though the key is right: select the correct Scene Collection as well as the Profile. Profiles store stream/output settings, not scene arrangements.
- You cannot start another concurrent broadcast: check both the channel total and the number using that particular key. The documented limits apply simultaneously.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is to keep uploaded videos looping as a 24/7 YouTube stream, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live.
