Schedule the event in Streamlabs Desktop
Streamlabs’ published scheduling guide describes this flow. The guide was last updated January 31, 2024, so the scheduler’s exact placement or labels may differ in a newer Desktop release.

- Open Streamlabs Desktop and select the scheduler in the lower-right area.
- Select a date to open the scheduling form.
- Choose YouTube as the platform and enter the time for the event.
- Enter the event title and description. The scheduler guide also lists a thumbnail, category, and YouTube privacy settings among the available details.
- Save or schedule the event. Check that it appears in your upcoming streams before sharing it; Streamlabs points to the channel’s Videos area, and YouTube Studio lists upcoming streams in its Live tab.
Choose the visibility and event details deliberately. A scheduled event is what viewers can find in advance; it is not proof that a live broadcast will begin automatically at that time.

Start the broadcast at the scheduled time
YouTube documents the encoder start as a separate process. Streamlabs Desktop must be running and sending the stream before YouTube can show its preview.

Schedule in YouTube Studio instead
If you prefer to create the event in YouTube’s own interface, use Create → Go Live in YouTube Studio, choose Schedule Stream, then reuse settings or create a new event. Set the stream details, visibility, and time. At broadcast time, you still need to connect and start the encoder, check the Live Control Room preview, and go live.

The choice is mainly about where you want to manage the event: Streamlabs Desktop offers an app-based scheduling flow, while YouTube Studio provides platform-native event management. Either way, creating the event and starting the broadcast are separate tasks.
If you need the stream to run while you are away
Streamlabs Desktop scheduling is not an unattended-start feature: its documented broadcast flow still requires an encoder to be started and the YouTube Live Control Room go-live step. If you want a pre-recorded video to loop on YouTube without leaving a computer running, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It runs the uploaded video from the cloud, not a camera feed.
