In SingleFile, open the extension’s options and enable both Fonts > remove unused fonts and Fonts > remove alternative fonts. These settings clean up font rules and alternatives, but SingleFile’s documentation does not promise to remove every embedded font from every saved page.
Turn on both font-cleanup options
- Right-click the SingleFile toolbar button and choose Options or Manage extension to open its options page. The available route can depend on the browser’s extension menu. SingleFile project overview
- Find the Fonts settings.
- Enable Remove unused fonts and Remove alternative fonts. SingleFile recommends checking both options. SingleFile help
What the two settings remove

SingleFile’s help says each option should not alter the document and may considerably reduce the saved file size. That describes the intended behavior, not a guarantee that every site will look identical or that a particular amount of space will be saved.

What “without embedded fonts” does—and does not—mean
SingleFile is designed to save a complete webpage, including fonts, in one HTML file. The two font options are selective cleanup controls; the documentation does not say they strip all font data or ensure that no font resource remains. If you need a file guaranteed to contain no embedded fonts, these settings alone do not establish that result.

There is another reason a font or other resource may seem unexpected: SingleFile’s FAQ says it can save resources present on the page even when they are not displayed or are already cached. SingleFile FAQ

Save only after the page has loaded
Wait until the webpage is fully loaded before saving it. Content or resources that have not arrived yet can affect what SingleFile captures. The project overview gives this as part of its recommended workflow. SingleFile project overview
Troubleshoot font rules that remain
- Confirm both options are enabled. Check the options page for the profile actually used for that save.
- Check the effective profile. SingleFile supports profiles, and the selected default profile applies across tabs. If you use another profile or a page-specific auto-settings rule, verify that the font options are enabled in the settings that apply to the page. SingleFile help
- Wait for loading to finish, then save again. This follows SingleFile’s documented save workflow.
- Distinguish leftover resources from unused rules. The options target specific font CSS rules and alternatives; they are not documented as a universal font-resource remover. A remaining resource does not, by itself, show that either setting failed.
