- Create a Zap using Schedule by Zapier and choose a daily trigger time.
- Add GetScreenshot, enter the webpage URL, and set the capture options exposed in the current action.
- Add Dropbox to upload the screenshot file into the folder you want. Map the image produced by GetScreenshot into the upload step.
- Test the complete Zap, verify the uploaded file, and enable the schedule.

Or save screenshots you take yourself with Dropbox sync
If you only need to save screenshots taken manually, Dropbox’s desktop app can automatically put them in a folder named “Screenshots.” Dropbox Help says the feature is available on Mac and Windows, except Dropbox Lite. - Open the Dropbox desktop app’s Preferences and enable the setting under Screenshots.
- On Windows, use Print Screen or Control-Print Screen. Dropbox warns that screenshots taken through the Windows Snipping Tool path will not sync; if needed, turn off the setting that maps Print Screen to the Snipping Tool.
- On Mac, use Command-Shift-3 or Command-Shift-4 and ensure screenshots are saved to the desktop.
- Check the “Screenshots” folder in Dropbox for the synced file.
Dropbox Capture is not a current substitute: Dropbox says it was discontinued on March 24, 2025. Its help page points users to desktop screenshot sync for screenshots, but recurring webpage captures still require a scheduled capture workflow. Dropbox Capture discontinuation FAQ

Make the workflow dependable
- Test the actual page: Verify the first output in Dropbox, not merely that each automation step reports success. Check whether the page requires login, waits for dynamic content, or presents a consent dialog.
- Pick a cadence that matches the task: The documented Zapier examples are weekly and daily. If you need another interval or a specific local run time, confirm that the trigger offers it and that its time zone is set correctly.
- Check capture scope and output: A viewport screenshot captures only the visible area, while a full-page option aims to capture more of the document. Confirm the integration’s available settings and the resulting file dimensions and format.
- Review plan limits and failures: Scheduled runs may be subject to plan or task limits on the automation and screenshot services. Check those limits, and inspect run histories and Dropbox uploads after enabling the workflow.
- Protect access: Connecting Dropbox or capturing a logged-in page can grant services access to sensitive data. Use only the minimum account permissions needed, and do not send credentials or private page contents to a workflow unless the provider and your organization’s policies allow it.
Troubleshoot missed or incorrect screenshots
No file appears in Dropbox
- Open the automation’s run history and identify whether the schedule fired, the capture action returned an image, and Dropbox accepted the upload.
- Check that the Dropbox connection is still authorized and that the upload step points to the intended folder.
- Confirm the workflow is enabled and the next run time is correct for its configured time zone.
The screenshot is blank, incomplete, or shows a consent dialog
- Run a manual test and inspect the page at the moment the capture occurs. A page may load content after the screenshot action runs or behave differently when automated.
- Try the available full-page, viewport, or cookie-banner settings. Authentication, dynamic content, and bot defenses may require additional configuration; the cited integration listings do not establish that every such page is supported.
A multi-step Zap cannot be enabled
Check Zapier’s current plan requirements for the number of steps in the workflow. The GetScreenshot listing states that three-or-more-step Zaps require Starter, but plan rules can change.
Computer screenshots do not sync
Confirm Dropbox desktop screenshot sync is enabled in Preferences under Screenshots. On Windows, use Print Screen or Control-Print Screen rather than the Snipping Tool capture path, and check the Print Screen mapping setting. On Mac, use Command-Shift-3 or Command-Shift-4 and make sure screenshots save to the desktop.
