Save the page while you’re still online. On a computer, use the browser’s Save page option to create a local file; on a phone or tablet, use the browser’s offline download or Reading List, or save a PDF if you need a fixed document. The right method depends on your device, browser, and whether the page needs to remain interactive.
Choose the format that fits what you need
- Local webpage file: Best when you want a copy you can open in a desktop browser. Chrome and Firefox document saving webpages to your computer. Page behavior or externally hosted content may not be included.
- Reading List or browser download: Convenient on mobile, where the item stays managed in the browser. The available features vary by browser and platform.
- PDF: Useful when you want a fixed, portable document. A PDF may not preserve interactive page behavior.
None of these methods is documented as saving an entire website. They are for keeping an individual page available.

Save a page on a computer
Google Chrome
- Open the page while connected to the internet. Chrome says, “You must be online to save a page.”
- Choose More → Cast, save, and share → Save page as…
- Choose where to save the file and confirm.
- To use it offline, open the saved file in your default browser.
Chrome’s menu labels can change between versions. If the listed path differs, look in the browser menu for the page-saving option.
Firefox
Firefox lets you save a webpage to your computer for offline access. Open the page, use Firefox’s save-page command, then enter a filename and choose a location in the save dialog. Menu labels may vary by version. Open the local copy before you lose your connection to check that it contains what you need.

Mozilla’s iOS support describes a Reading List for later viewing in a clean, reader-friendly mode, and also documents saving full-page screenshots as PDFs. These are different outcomes: a Reading List is for reading within the browser, while a PDF or screenshot is a fixed document.
Check the saved copy before going offline
A local copy may not reproduce every interactive or dynamic feature, content behind a login, or material hosted elsewhere. The browser help pages do not guarantee that those elements will be captured or work offline. While you still have a connection:
