First find out where the images disappear: on the webpage before saving, in the saved PDF on screen, or only on paper. Those are different failures and call for different checks. If an existing PDF is incomplete, reload it and open another PDF; if only one file fails, compare it in another browser or a desktop PDF app before concluding the file or its source is at fault.
Find where the images go missing
Check the page and document in sequence. Open the webpage in a browser and confirm whether the images appear there. Then save or print it as a PDF, open that PDF on screen, and, if relevant, print a paper copy. Note the first point at which an image disappears:

- Missing on the webpage: the PDF may simply reflect a page that did not load or display the image.
- Visible on the page but absent in the PDF: the issue arises during saving, PDF creation, or document rendering.
- Visible in the PDF but absent on paper: focus on the print path rather than webpage capture.
- Present in one viewer but absent in another: compare the viewers and the document before changing settings.
This is a practical way to narrow the problem, not a universal checklist that identifies every cause of webpage-to-PDF image loss.

If an existing PDF looks incomplete on screen
Reload it and test another PDF
Reload the document, then open a different PDF in the same browser. Adobe recommends this comparison: if another PDF displays correctly, the target file may be damaged or there may be a problem with the site hosting it. Adobe’s browser PDF troubleshooting steps include these checks.

Compare browsers and desktop viewers
Open the same PDF in another browser or in a desktop PDF application such as Acrobat. Adobe includes trying a different browser among its general PDF viewing remedies. Mozilla also recommends checking whether printing works in another browser. If the document behaves differently between viewers, that comparison helps isolate the problem; it does not by itself prove which viewer or file is responsible. If the PDF displays correctly but printing omits images
First establish which software’s print command you used. The following alternatives are specifically for printing through the Acrobat browser extension; they are not general fixes for images missing from a webpage PDF.

- Open the PDF in Acrobat desktop and print from there.
- Alternatively, try printing from an incognito Chrome or Edge window.
Adobe notes that corrupt content in a PDF can cause printing problems even when it appears normal on screen. Its suggested alternatives address that Acrobat-extension printing scenario. Adobe’s PDF printing guidance gives the details.

If the Acrobat browser extension itself is not working
Adobe’s extension troubleshooting guidance includes changing PDF-document handling settings in Chrome or Edge, then reloading the PDF. Follow that guidance when troubleshooting the extension; do not assume the setting change will restore images omitted while creating a webpage PDF.

Use the instructions for your browser in Adobe’s Acrobat Chrome extension troubleshooting page, then reload the document and check it again.
When the source PDF or website may need attention
If the same PDF alone remains incomplete after reloading and fails in multiple browsers or a desktop viewer, the source file or the site serving it may need correction. Adobe’s troubleshooting advice identifies a damaged target PDF or a hosting-site problem as possibilities when another PDF works. Contact the document owner or website if you need a corrected copy; the viewer comparison narrows the issue but may not identify its exact cause.
