In Firefox, open the page, choose Menu → Print…, select Save to PDF under Destination, check the preview, then click Print. This is Firefox’s documented desktop workflow; it is not unique to Windows 11.
Save a Firefox webpage as a PDF
- Open the webpage you want to save.
- Open the Firefox menu and choose Print…. Firefox opens a print preview.
- Under Destination, select Save to PDF.
- Check the preview. Change the page settings if the layout needs adjustment.
- Click Print to save the displayed preview as a PDF. If Firefox or Windows asks where to save it, choose a recognizable filename and location.
A separate physical printer is not required for this workflow: the destination is a PDF file.

Check the preview and adjust the output
A webpage may print differently from how it appears on screen. Mozilla notes: “Web pages can set themselves up to appear different on paper to how they look on screen, so don’t be surprised if you see some changes.” Review the preview before saving so you can catch missing sections, awkward page breaks, or unnecessary blank pages.
Useful print settings
Depending on the page and destination, the preview settings include orientation and page selection. Open More settings for options such as paper size, scale, pages per sheet, margins, format, headers and footers, and background printing. Not every control is necessarily available in every situation.

Simplified format and backgrounds
If Firefox offers Simplified format, it can produce a less cluttered print layout. Simplified format cannot be combined with print backgrounds, so choose the setting that better suits the document you need. The option is not available for every page.
PDF saving is different from saving a webpage file
Use Print → Save to PDF when you want a PDF version of the page. Firefox’s Save Page As command is for saving webpage files, with formats such as web page complete, HTML only, text files, and all files; it is a different task and does not follow the PDF workflow above.

If “Save to PDF” is missing or the result looks wrong
- The PDF layout differs from the screen: inspect the preview and adjust orientation, scale, margins, or page selection before saving.
- The page is cluttered: use Simplified format if Firefox offers it. Remember that it disables print backgrounds.
- The preview omits something: the webpage may use a print layout that differs from its screen layout. Check the preview and available settings rather than assuming the PDF will match the browser view exactly.
- Save to PDF is unavailable: on Windows, Microsoft Print to PDF has been suggested as an alternative destination in older Mozilla forum guidance from 2019. That is dated volunteer advice, not the current documented Firefox route; use it only if it appears among the available destinations.
Or skip the browser setup
If your goal is to capture a clean webpage image through an API rather than save a PDF from Firefox, ScreenshotNeo provides a one-request screenshot endpoint. This example saves a WebP screenshot; it is not the Firefox PDF workflow.

Before capture, it accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; those steps can be turned off. Bot checks and CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and each response identifies the page verdict and billing status.
