YouTube Studio handles the first. The second needs a live-streaming workflow, such as an encoder on your PC or a cloud playlist service.
First, decide what you want to schedule
A YouTube playlist is an ordered collection of videos; making or reordering one does not set publication times. Scheduled publishing instead makes an individual video public at a specified date and time. If you want prerecorded videos to play out as a live broadcast, you need to create a live stream and supply it with the playlist.

- Separate upload calendars: use YouTube Studio to schedule each video for the appropriate channel.
- Scheduled playlist livestreams: use a local encoder workflow or a cloud service that supports prerecorded playlist broadcasts.
Schedule separate uploads for both channels in YouTube Studio
One Google Account can manage multiple eligible YouTube channels connected to Brand Accounts, so you can switch channels without signing out. Confirm the selected channel before scheduling each upload.

- Upload a video and fill in its title, description, audience, and other details.
- In the visibility or Schedule card, choose the date, time, and time zone, then select Schedule.
- Repeat for each video, switching to the other channel before scheduling its uploads.
- To change a scheduled time, open the video in Studio’s Content area and edit its scheduled visibility settings.
This schedules when each video becomes public; it does not make a playlist play automatically as a live broadcast. YouTube notes that a scheduled video may remain private during a Community Guidelines strike penalty period and need to be rescheduled after the freeze. The “Published on” date shown on the watch page is based on Pacific time, so it can differ from the Studio date when you schedule from a time zone ahead of Pacific time. Schedule prerecorded playlists as live streams
YouTube lists encoders as one method of live streaming. In a local setup, the encoder sends video from your PC to a YouTube live event. You must configure both the YouTube event and the encoder; scheduling an event alone does not establish that encoder software will launch automatically at the right time.
Local encoder workflow
- In YouTube Studio, switch to the channel that will broadcast, create or schedule a live stream, and copy the stream key for that channel.
- Set up the encoder to send the intended prerecorded videos or playlist to the event. Keep the two channels’ stream keys and event details separate.
- Configure any computer-level automation needed to start the encoder and load the correct channel’s playlist at the intended time. YouTube’s encoder guidance does not provide a Windows Task Scheduler or macOS automation recipe, so the exact steps depend on your encoder and operating system.
- For the second channel, create a separate event and configure its encoder destination and schedule. Do not assume that setting up one channel automatically schedules the other.
- Test each broadcast in advance, including the start time, video order, audio, stream destination, and what happens if the PC or network connection fails.
Switcher Studio’s YouTube integration documentation says that, for its workflow, a stream created directly on YouTube needs Enable Auto-start and Enable Auto-stop turned on if you expect YouTube to start and stop it automatically; it also documents selecting an existing scheduled YouTube stream. Cloud playlist service: Restream
Restream documents a cloud Playlist feature for scheduling prerecorded videos as a broadcast, including a YouTube event link. Its Help Center documentation says the feature requires an Upload & Stream add-on tier, allows up to 40 videos and a maximum playlist duration of 24 hours, and does not allow reordering after the playlist goes live. It also says prerecorded events cannot pair channels, so plan and configure each channel’s destination separately rather than assuming one paired event will serve both.
Restream’s documentation accessed October 3, 2026 listed its Marathon tier at $79/month and Media tier at $239/month; these vendor-listed prices can change, so check the current plan page before subscribing. See Restream’s playlist documentation.

Always-on cloud looping: StreamNeo

What to check when both live streams overlap
If two broadcasts run at once from one PC, verify the encoder can handle both feeds, that your upload bandwidth is sufficient, and that the connection remains stable. These are practical checks, not a universal PC specification or a guarantee of simultaneous-stream performance. YouTube’s help confirms encoder-based streaming, but the cited guidance does not set a single hardware or bandwidth requirement for every setup.

Troubleshoot common scheduling problems
- The video is scheduled on the wrong channel: before saving, check the channel identity in Studio. Switch to the intended channel and review the scheduled video there.
- A scheduled upload did not become public: check its visibility and schedule in Studio. A Community Guidelines strike penalty period can keep a scheduled video private; YouTube says it needs to be rescheduled after the freeze.
- The watch-page date differs from the date you chose: compare the Studio schedule and time zone with the public “Published on” date, which YouTube bases on Pacific time.
- The live event starts but no playlist plays: verify that the encoder is running, uses the correct channel’s stream key and event, and has the intended playlist loaded. Scheduling the YouTube event does not itself start local encoder software.
- A local stream stops when the PC or connection fails: local encoder streaming depends on the computer and network remaining available. Test recovery behavior before relying on unattended broadcasts.
- A cloud playlist cannot be paired across both channels: Restream documents that channel pairing is unavailable for prerecorded events. Set up separate destinations and verify the event link and channel for each.
