You can keep Sai Baba bhajans live on YouTube around the clock by sending a continuous playlist through an encoder—or by using a cloud service that plays uploaded videos. Before you schedule the stream, clear the rights to every recording, enable YouTube Live well ahead of time, test the complete signal path, and plan a separate way to preserve recordings: a broadcast longer than 12 hours may not be archived by YouTube.
1. Clear the rights to every bhajan recording
Make a track-by-track rights list before assembling the playlist. A bhajan can involve separate rights in the underlying composition, a particular performance or arrangement, and the sound recording. Devotional subject matter, an old composition, or a recording being publicly available does not by itself establish that you may broadcast that recording.

YouTube’s Live Stream Terms and Conditions place responsibility on the broadcaster to have the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers and other royalty participants. 2. Enable YouTube Live and create the broadcast
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube’s computer livestreaming guidance says the channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. If this is your first time enabling live streaming, activation can take up to 24 hours. Complete this step before your planned launch.
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create and configure the live stream there, including its title, visibility and scheduled start time. Choose the visibility that suits your audience and test privately or unlisted before relying on a public broadcast.
- Copy the stream connection details. Put YouTube’s Live server URL and stream key into your encoder’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: do not share it publicly, and replace it if you believe it has been exposed.
- Check the preview before going public. Confirm that the intended video or still image appears, the bhajan audio is audible and in sync, and YouTube reports a healthy incoming signal. Check the actual public watch page and mobile playback during the test.
3. Choose a way to send the playlist
Software encoder on a computer
A software encoder can send a playlist with a still devotional image or video, and it gives you control over overlays, audio and other sources. YouTube supports software encoders; a dedicated hardware encoder is not a blanket requirement. For a straightforward prerecorded playlist, software may be sufficient, but the right choice depends on the equipment, network and amount of production control you need.
The trade-off for a 24/7 broadcast is that the computer, encoder software, power and network connection must continue working. A restart, sleep setting, software failure or loss of connectivity can stop the outgoing signal. Disable sleep and automatic shutdown, ensure the machine can remain powered and cooled, and arrange monitoring and a restart procedure if the stream is unattended.
Dedicated hardware encoder
YouTube also supports standalone hardware encoders. Consider one when the production has multiple inputs, external audio or video equipment, more complex overlays, or operational needs that justify dedicated gear. YouTube does not identify a particular device as necessary or universally best, and hardware does not remove the need for reliable upload capacity, rights clearance or monitoring.
Cloud playback for uploaded videos
A cloud service can play uploaded videos without relying on a home computer to remain on. This can suit a prerecorded playlist when the priority is continuous playback rather than a live camera feed. Confirm that the service supports YouTube, your intended video formats and the stream setup you need; do not assume a cloud player clears music rights or guarantees YouTube uptime.

4. Set encoding and network capacity
Choose encoder settings that your equipment and upload connection can sustain. YouTube’s technical guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1 video options; AAC or MP3 audio; constant bitrate encoding; and a recommended two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. Available settings and labels vary by encoder. Match the resolution and bitrate to the source and connection rather than increasing them without need.
- Bitrate and headroom: YouTube recommends leaving about 20% upload headroom above the total outgoing bitrate. For example, if your selected audio-plus-video stream bitrate is B, plan for available upload bandwidth of about 1.2 × B or more. This is a planning margin, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
- Shared connection: Other devices and uploads on the same connection reduce the capacity available to the encoder. Test while the network is being used as it will be during the broadcast, and avoid competing heavy uploads where possible.
- Keyframes and rate control: Use constant bitrate where the encoder offers it and set a two-second keyframe interval, staying at or below YouTube’s four-second maximum recommendation.
- Audio and video: Check that the audio is clear and continuous and that the picture is appropriate for the playlist. A still image may be enough for a simple audio-led stream, but make sure you have the rights to that image too.
Test with content that has similar audio and visual movement to the scheduled playlist. A test using a silent still frame may not reveal the same encoding or network behavior as the actual material.
5. Plan continuity and archive separately
Continuous access for viewers and a complete replay are different goals. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Do not promise that one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast will produce a complete YouTube replay.
Keep a local recording or source-file backup and decide how recordings will be divided, named and checked. YouTube’s guidance does not guarantee an archive for a stream over 12 hours. During tests and operation, verify that any local recording is present, continues to grow and plays back correctly.

YouTube recommends ongoing monitoring. For an unattended schedule, assign a person or escalation contact to check stream health, audio, video, chat and copyright warnings; document how to restart the encoder and restore the playlist. This is an operational safeguard, not a YouTube staffing rule or a promise of uninterrupted 24/7 uptime.
6. Preflight checklist before the first public broadcast
- Live streaming is enabled, the channel is verified and eligibility has been checked.
- Every recording and visual has been cleared for the intended use, and any required Content ID allowlisting is complete.
- The playlist order, transitions and repeat behavior have been tested.
- The encoder has the correct YouTube server URL and stream key, and the key is kept private.
- A test with representative content appears correctly in Live Control Room and on the watch page, including on mobile.
- Available upload bandwidth can sustain the total stream bitrate with YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom.
- A local recording or other source backup is available, and recording files have been checked.
- A named person knows how to monitor alerts, restart playback and respond to a rights or stream-health problem.
Common problems and what to check
You cannot start a live stream
Check that the channel is verified, has no live-streaming restriction within the previous 90 days, and has completed live enablement. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so resolve this well before the scheduled start.
YouTube shows no signal or the encoder will not connect
Recheck the server URL and stream key in the encoder, confirm that the correct stream is selected in Live Control Room, and inspect the encoder’s connection status. If the key may have been exposed or entered incorrectly, replace it in YouTube and update the encoder securely.

The stream buffers or loses quality
Compare the encoder’s total outgoing bitrate with available upload capacity, leaving the recommended headroom. Check for other network use, then lower the bitrate or resolution if the connection cannot sustain the chosen settings. Test again with representative playlist material.

The picture or sound is missing or incorrect
Inspect the encoder’s selected video and audio sources, then compare them with the Live Control Room preview. Confirm that playback is continuing and that the selected encoding settings are supported by the encoder and equipment. Repeat the test on the actual watch page, not only in the encoder preview.
A copyright warning interrupts the broadcast
Review the warning and the affected recording. Confirm that the licence covers the specific use and that any required channel allowlisting has been completed. A licence alone may not prevent interruption if allowlisting is required; remove disputed material until the rights issue is resolved.
The 24-hour broadcast has no complete replay
This is consistent with YouTube’s archive guidance: streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. Use a separately verified local recording and a deliberate session/archive plan rather than depending on YouTube to preserve the full broadcast.
