How to Review and Verify Work Produced by Google Antigravity Agents

A practical workflow for reviewing Antigravity plans, diffs, permissions, browser evidence, and test results before accepting agent-produced work.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To review Antigravity work, check the plan (when one exists), inspect the actual changed files, confirm the agent’s permissions were appropriate, and independently test the result against observable acceptance criteria. Plans, diffs, screenshots, and browser recordings make review easier; none alone proves the work is correct.

What should you check before accepting an agent’s work?

Start by turning the request into observable acceptance criteria. Write down what must change, what must stay untouched, and what evidence would show the requested result. This gives you a basis for checking both the implementation and its behavior, rather than relying on the agent’s completion summary.

  • Scope: Which files, screens, or behaviors should change?
  • Non-goals: What should remain unchanged?
  • Evidence: Which tests, manual checks, or browser observations would demonstrate the expected behavior?

Should you review the plan before execution?

When you use Planning mode, inspect the task groups and implementation plan before approving execution. Look for scope creep, unstated assumptions, risky operations, and an order of work that could affect unrelated parts of the project. Google describes Planning mode as producing structured plans and artifacts; Fast mode is intended for simple, localized tasks and executes without a dedicated planning phase. The artifact review policy determines whether a generated plan or code diff pauses for approval. Under Request review, Antigravity pauses when a plan or diff is generated; Always proceed bypasses that manual pause. See Google’s artifact review documentation for the mode and policy details.

A missing planning checkpoint does not mean the work was reviewed. In Fast mode, or with a policy that proceeds automatically, focus on inspecting the resulting changes and validating them yourself.

How do you inspect the code changes?

Review the actual diff and affected files against the request. A concise agent summary is useful context, but it is not a substitute for examining what changed. Antigravity’s CLI review materials describe auditing generated code and attaching line-level feedback.

  • Check for unrelated edits, unexpected file access, and files that were deleted or renamed.
  • Review dependency, build, and configuration changes for a clear connection to the task.
  • Compare the implementation with the plan, if there was one; investigate unexplained differences.
  • Look for code that changes behavior beyond the acceptance criteria or leaves requested behavior unimplemented.

Antigravity reviewable outputs can include plans, code diffs, architecture diagrams, visual media, and browser recordings. The specific artifacts available depend on the task and interface. Google’s CLI artifact review documentation describes code audits and line-level feedback, while the IDE overview describes agent surfaces and artifact types.

How do permissions change the approval boundary?

Check the configured settings for the operating system and installation you are using before assuming a command will prompt, that file access is limited to the project, or that a review pause will occur. Permission behavior is platform-specific.

Google documents three presets for macOS and Linux:

  • Default: Commands run without prompting within the terminal sandbox; approval is required for work outside it.
  • Request Review: Approval is required for terminal commands.
  • Turbo: Commands can run without prompting and isolation is removed.

Google says this updated system is currently available on macOS and Linux; Windows retains previous settings. Windows controls include terminal command auto-execution, access outside the workspace, and terminal sandbox mode. Review the current Agent settings documentation and verify the actual settings in your installation before delegating sensitive work.

How do you verify work an Antigravity agent did in the browser?

For a UI task, compare the requested user-visible behavior with both the code changes and the browser evidence. Inspect screenshots or a browser recording for the relevant states and interactions, then run the project’s appropriate checks and exercise the behavior yourself where needed. A recording can show what happened during that run; it does not establish that every state, edge case, or future run will behave correctly.

  1. Identify the exact screen, state, and interaction named in the acceptance criteria.
  2. Inspect the relevant changed code to see how that behavior was implemented.
  3. Review the available screenshot, recording, or walkthrough for evidence of the requested result.
  4. Run the relevant project tests or manual checks, including important states not shown in the artifact.

Google describes agents working across the editor, terminal, and browser, with recordings, screenshots, and walkthroughs offering context for review. Its launch article calls those artifacts context for reviewing and validating work, but that product description is not an independent correctness guarantee. See the Google Developers Blog overview and the Artifacts documentation.

How should you give feedback and re-review?

When you find a mismatch, make the feedback specific: identify the file, line, artifact, or observed behavior and state what should change. Antigravity supports comments and feedback on artifacts, including inline feedback; the CLI documentation also describes line-level comments. Feedback steers the agent, but it does not validate the revision for you.

The available documentation describes review interfaces and settings, not a universal test standard or a measured defect rate. Human review and project-appropriate validation remain necessary.
