“Reverse screen mirroring” can mean three different things: showing one screen on another, sending a display’s interface back to a phone, or flipping an image left to right. Those are separate operations. Choose the one that matches what you want to do; duplicating a screen does not flip its image.
Which kind of screen mirroring do you mean?
- Show the same computer screen on a TV or projector: use Duplicate mode or wireless projection, depending on your setup.
- Show an iPhone or iPad on a TV or other receiver: use AirPlay Screen Mirroring with a compatible receiver.
- See or control a projector or conference display from a phone: this is sometimes called reverse screen mirroring, but the steps depend on the specific product.
- Flip the image left to right: that is image reversal, not ordinary mirroring or screen rotation. The general Windows and Apple procedures covered here do not provide a universal way to do it.
Show a Windows PC on a TV or projector
For a wireless connection, the receiving TV, projector, or display must support Miracast, or have a suitable Miracast receiver connected. Having Wi-Fi alone does not guarantee that a display can receive a Windows projection. Microsoft documents these steps for Windows 11 and Windows 10.

- Make sure Wi-Fi is on and the Miracast-compatible receiver is ready.
- On the PC, press Windows key + K.
- Select the wireless display from the list.
- To choose whether the PC duplicates or extends its desktop, press Windows key + P and select the display mode you want.
If the target is another Windows PC, Microsoft says to install and launch the Wireless Display feature on that receiving computer. If the display does not appear, check Wi-Fi and confirm that the receiver supports the required wireless display connection. A Miracast dongle or adapter plugged into the display is another possible receiver route.
Duplicate a Windows desktop or extend it across displays
Press Windows key + P to open Windows display modes. Choose the mode based on whether you want the same picture or more workspace:

Duplicate is the right choice when you want the same desktop on the computer and a projector, for example. It does not mirror the picture left to right; it repeats the displayed content.
Mirror an iPhone or iPad to a compatible display
Apple’s AirPlay instructions cover sharing an iPhone or iPad screen with an Apple TV, an AirPlay-compatible smart TV, or a Mac. Connect the Apple device and receiver to the same Wi-Fi network, then follow these steps:

- Open Control Center.
- Tap Screen Mirroring.
- Select the compatible receiver.
This sends the Apple device’s screen to a display. It is not a documented way to send a TV or projector’s interface back to the phone, and it does not flip the image horizontally.

Some manufacturers use “reverse screen mirroring” for a product-specific phone connection. In the examples below, the display or projector’s interface is viewed or controlled from a phone; that is different from casting the phone’s screen to the display.

Hikvision WonderCast conference display
The WonderCast Operation Manual, Version 2.3.0, dated June 1, 2022, describes iOS screen mirroring to a conference panel. It says the iOS device and server should be on the same LAN, AirPlay Visible must be enabled in the server settings, and the user selects the panel from Control Center > Screen Mirroring. These instructions apply to that product setup; the manual’s terminology does not establish a universal reverse-mirroring feature.
KODAK LUMA 350 projector
The LUMA 350 Quick Start Manual describes reverse mirroring as viewing the projector interface on a phone and navigating it. Its steps are to get the KODAK LUMA Companion App, connect the phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the projector, and pair through the app. Because the manual is older, check current app availability and compatibility for the particular projector before relying on this route.

Can you flip a mirrored image left to right?
The documented Windows and Apple instructions cover duplication, extension, wireless projection, AirPlay mirroring, and screen orientation. They do not establish a universal operating-system setting or shortcut for horizontally reversing a mirrored image. Windows screen orientation changes how a display is arranged for portrait or landscape use; it is not a left-right reflection.

Windows 10 support status
Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. The projection instructions above cover Windows 10 and Windows 11, but that date matters if you are deciding whether to keep using a Windows 10 PC.
