Keen Games confirmed that respawn timers were reduced to 30 minutes, making it possible to defeat a boss or destroy a Shroud root again. That is a general timer, not a promise that every camp respawns at exactly 30:00 or awards a fixed amount of experience.
What the 30-minute respawn timer actually tells you
Keen Games stated in On Quest Progression on 9 February 2024 that it had reduced respawn timers to 30 minutes. The statement specifically explains that the change allows players to defeat a boss again or destroy a Shroud root again. It establishes a general respawn system, but it does not publish a camp-by-camp schedule, an exact unload radius, or an XP table.

In other words, killing the enemies and standing beside the camp for 30 minutes is not the intended farming loop. You clear the location, move far enough away that the game can unload it, wait while doing something else, and return later.
The timer should be treated as a target rather than a stopwatch promise. Returning too early can restart or delay the process, and another player entering the area may keep it loaded. A camp that is still empty after half an hour is usually a delayed reset, not proof that the camp is permanently one-time-only.

The repeatable camp-farming procedure
Use this sequence for a first test of any camp. It separates the parts you can control from the parts that depend on world streaming and the current game build.
- Choose a test camp. Prefer a location near a fast-travel point and outside the protected area of your active base when possible. A nearby camp reduces travel time, while keeping it outside a busy base area makes it easier for the location to unload.
- Record a baseline. Before pulling enemies, note your current experience, the camp’s enemy levels, your travel route, and any consumables you expect to use. You do not need a published XP value; your own before-and-after measurement is enough to compare routes.
- Clear every target. Kill the camp’s enemies and collect the experience and drops. If a boss, Shroud root, or other objective is part of the location, record separately whether that objective returned; the developer’s 30-minute statement covers those systems generally, but it does not prove identical behavior for every camp.
- Leave the area. Travel far enough away that the camp is no longer actively loaded. The game does not publish a universal distance, so use a practical test: leave the immediate zone, fast-travel to another activity, or move to a different camp rather than circling back nearby.
- Do not revisit during the wait. Community reports warn that checking too soon can restart or delay the timer. Avoid walking past the camp, opening it on the map and returning, or sending another player to inspect it during the waiting period.
- Use the waiting window productively. Clear a second camp, complete a quest, craft, sort materials, or travel. The goal is to keep the first location unloaded while turning the timer into useful play time.
- Return after about 30 minutes. Come back through your normal route and inspect the camp before committing to a full farming circuit. A successful reset should restore the enemies or other resettable targets.
- Verify before repeating. If the camp is populated, clear it and start the next cycle. If it is empty, leave again and give the location more time rather than forcing a precise promise. Record the delay; it may be specific to that camp, your route, a player nearby, or the current patch.
This procedure does not require logging out. The documented approach is based on clearing the location, allowing it to unload, waiting, and returning. No official statement guarantees that quitting to the menu or closing the game forces an immediate reset.

Check the whole encounter area
Walk through the camp’s normal spawn positions instead of checking only the entrance. Enemies can be distributed across tents, towers, interiors, and nearby paths. A partial group may mean the camp reset correctly but has not all converged on its usual patrol point.
Separate enemies from objectives
Enemy bodies, a boss, and a Shroud root are not necessarily the same reset event. Keen Games used bosses and Shroud roots as examples when describing the reduced timer, but the statement does not define identical rules for every object in every camp. Record which part returned when you test a location.
Allow for streaming delay
On the first visit after the wait, give the area a moment to load before deciding it failed. If the camp remains empty after you have entered, moved through the normal spawn points, and waited briefly, leave again rather than repeatedly crossing the boundary. Repeated early checks can make the timing harder to interpret.

Why a camp may not respawn after 30 minutes
You returned before the area was unloaded
The most common problem with the field method is spending the supposed waiting period close enough for the camp to remain active. Move farther away, use fast travel, and avoid a route that passes the camp on the way to another activity.
Someone else kept the location loaded
In multiplayer, another player entering or remaining near the camp can affect whether it stays unloaded. Coordinate the test so everyone leaves the area, or have the other player work at a different location during the timer.
The location has a delayed or different rule
The 30-minute figure is a developer-confirmed general timer, not a camp-specific contract. If one camp repeatedly takes longer while another resets reliably, treat that as a location-specific difference and build your route around observed behavior rather than assuming every camp is synchronized.
A patch changed the mechanic
Enshrouded’s official wiki records the 1.0 launch on 15 October 2026 and categorizes enemy camps as world locations. Respawn behavior can change with updates, so retest a route after a major patch. A method that worked in an earlier build should not be presented as permanent without checking the current version.
The camp was not fully cleared
Some encounters include enemies outside the obvious central arena. If one target remains alive, the location may look unchanged when you return because the original encounter was never completed. On your baseline run, sweep the perimeter and nearby structures before leaving.

Choosing the best camp for XP per minute
The camp with the largest single-clear payout is not automatically the best farm. Your sustained rate includes the time between clears, travel, loading, deaths, healing, and the waiting period. Compare locations using the same observations each time.
- Enemy density and clear speed: More targets help only if you can defeat them quickly and safely. A compact group may outperform a larger camp spread across difficult terrain.
- Your level relative to the enemies: A camp close to your combat level can produce better sustained results than a higher-level camp that forces long fights or frequent retreats.
- Travel distance: Fast-travel access and a short approach reduce downtime on every cycle. Include the return trip in your measurement, not just the combat portion.
- Safety and terrain: Look for room to retreat, recover, and separate enemies. Falls, narrow ledges, environmental hazards, or difficult visibility can turn a theoretically rich camp into a slow route.
- Unload reliability: A camp that resets consistently when you leave is more valuable than one with a better single clear but an unpredictable delay.
- Drop value and downtime: Materials and equipment can matter alongside XP, especially if they reduce crafting or repair trips. Count the time spent sorting, repairing, or restocking when comparing routes.
- Multiplayer traffic: A popular location near another player’s base may remain loaded. A slightly less convenient camp can be better if your party can leave it undisturbed.
How to measure your real XP rate
No authoritative camp-by-camp XP table is published in the available official material. Do not assign a fixed number to a camp based on its name or enemy count. Measure the current build on your own character instead.
- Write down your XP total immediately before the clear.
- Clear the same camp using the same route and collect the experience.
- Write down the new total and subtract the starting value.
- Use a timer for the complete cycle: travel to the camp, combat, looting, departure, waiting activity, return, and any recovery time.
- Repeat for at least several cycles before comparing it with another camp. One unusually fast clear or one delayed reset can distort the result.
- Track deaths, healing or other consumable use, and failed resets. A route that looks fast on paper may be worse once interruptions are included.
Use the result as an observed XP-per-minute figure for your character and current build, not as a universal value. Enemy level, equipment, party size, difficulty settings, and future balance changes can all alter the result.
Can you chain multiple camps?
Yes, chaining is the practical way to use the timer. Clear camp A, leave its area, then clear camp B or complete another activity while A’s unloaded period passes. When you return to A, verify the reset before starting another full circuit.
A simple route has two or more camps that can be reached from fast-travel points without crossing back through a recently cleared area. The route should leave each camp unloaded while you work elsewhere. If your path repeatedly passes through camp A, you may be delaying its reset even though the clock has elapsed.

For a new route, test each camp independently first. Once you know the observed delay and travel time, combine them into a loop. Keep a note of which player is responsible for leaving each area in multiplayer so that one person does not accidentally keep a camp active.

No logout step is part of the supported repeat-farming procedure. The practical method is to leave the location unloaded for roughly 30 minutes and then return. Logging out may change what is loaded when you come back, but there is no developer guarantee that it forces an immediate respawn, and it should not be treated as a substitute for the unload-and-wait condition.

A successful result still demonstrates that enough time passed while the location was not being actively visited; it does not establish a universal logout reset rule.
Safety and efficiency during the waiting period
Use a second combat location
Clearing another camp keeps your character active and gives you a direct comparison for XP, drops, and travel. Make sure the second location is far enough away that it does not keep the first one loaded.
Turn downtime into preparation
Craft, repair, sort drops, replenish consumables, or complete a quest objective while the first camp’s timer runs. Preparation reduces the non-combat portion of later cycles and helps expose whether a route is actually sustainable.
Protect the measurement
Do not change equipment, party composition, difficulty, or route halfway through a comparison unless you mark the change. Otherwise, the XP-per-minute figure combines different conditions and cannot tell you which camp is better.

Version and evidence limits
The 30-minute statement comes from Keen Games’ 9 February 2024 progression update. Community reports supply the unload-and-return field practice, but they are not a guarantee for every location or future build. The official wiki’s record of the 1.0 launch on 15 October 2026 is a useful version marker; after a major update, verify the timer and reset behavior again.
What is established is the general reduced respawn timer and the practical need to leave the area before returning. What is not established is a universal exact countdown for every enemy camp, a fixed XP payout per camp, or an automatic reset triggered by logging out. Keep those distinctions in your notes when planning a farming route or comparing results with another player.
A quick troubleshooting checklist
- Did you clear every enemy and objective in the encounter, including nearby structures and patrol paths?
- Did you leave far enough for the camp to unload rather than waiting beside it?
- Did you avoid returning early or crossing the camp on another route?
- Did every multiplayer participant leave the area?
- Did you wait about 30 minutes and then allow the location to finish loading before judging it?
- Did you test a second time before concluding that the camp never resets?
- Did a recent patch change the game version since your last successful run?
If the answer to all of these is yes and the camp remains empty, treat the reset as delayed or camp-specific. Move on to another location, record the result, and avoid promising that the camp will return at an exact minute.
