For the Samsung wireless remote covered by the company’s instructions, replace its batteries to reset its modes: remove the old cells, install two fresh 1.5 V AAA batteries with the polarity matched to the compartment markings, then close the cover. Samsung does not specify holding a button while the batteries are removed. Remote designs differ, so check your exact model’s manual if this procedure or the controls do not match.
Reset a Samsung wireless air conditioner remote
- Open the remote’s battery compartment and remove the existing batteries.
- Insert two fresh 1.5 V AAA batteries, matching the plus and minus ends to the markings inside the compartment.
- Close the cover and aim the remote at the indoor unit to test it.
Samsung’s Philippines support guide says replacing the batteries resets all modes on the wireless remote it covers. The guide was last updated November 23, 2023, and specifies two 1.5 V AAA cells. Why there is no universal Samsung reset-button sequence
Samsung cautions that remote designs and functions vary by air conditioner model, and directs owners to the product manual for model-specific instructions. Battery replacement is the documented reset for the wireless remote described in its consumer guide; it is not evidence of a universal factory-reset combination for every Samsung remote.

Find the exact air conditioner model number on its product label, then use the corresponding manual or Samsung support page. Samsung’s support listing for the AR-CH01E remote illustrates that documentation is model-specific. Samsung model support

Wired controller resets are different
Do not apply wired-controller instructions to a handheld wireless remote. Samsung’s Korean support page, dated December 23, 2024, documents these model-specific cases:
- AWR-WS00 and AWR-WE00: Hold Reset for five seconds. This clears the current time and weekly schedule.
- AWR-WE10 and AWR-WE10N: Samsung gives a different procedure; consult that controller’s instructions rather than using the five-second method.
- AWR-TH00 and AWR-GH02: The support page says these models have no reset function.

- Check that both batteries are fresh and seated with the correct polarity.
- Point the remote toward the indoor unit. Samsung recommends keeping it within 10 m for smoother communication.
- Check the exact air conditioner model’s troubleshooting instructions if the indoor unit displays a fault or the problem persists.
A remote reset cannot be assumed to clear a fault in the air-conditioning unit itself. Samsung’s self-diagnosis guidance cited here applies specifically to AR9500T models released after 2020; it advises contacting a service center when an information code appears.
