What rerolling means in Tower of God: New World
A reroll is a fresh attempt to use a game’s early free summons until the account starts with a roster you want to develop. In this game, the documented fresh-start action is server switching. Netmarble’s Profile instructions say that changing servers creates a new account code and starts the game again from the beginning on that server. If you switch back later, the progress on the original server is preserved.
That makes rerolling different from deleting a character, clearing app data or changing a nickname. You are making a separate server-side start, not erasing the account you already played. Keep a record of which server contains each attempt so you do not accidentally return to an older result.

The complete reroll loop
- Open the Profile menu from the Main Lobby. Note the active server before doing anything else. This is your reference point when you compare attempts.
- Switch to another available server. The official guide identifies server switching as the action that generates a new account code and begins the game again. Your previous server remains available if you return to it.
- Complete only the opening requirements needed to reach summons. Do not spend premium currency, tickets or upgrade materials while testing an account unless the current onboarding screen requires it.
- Use the Welcome Summon on the new server. Netmarble says a new Regular can use this special summon once per account on each server. A server therefore represents one organized reroll attempt for this purpose.
- Apply your stopping rule. Check whether the result includes a useful carry and enough support or frontline coverage to clear early Adventure stages. Record the units, copies and resources before deciding.
- Keep the server or move to another one. If the roster is weak, switch to a different server and repeat. If it meets your rule, continue the tutorial and build that account instead of endlessly chasing a marginally better opening.
Nickname changes are not rerolls
The Profile guide lists a free nickname change separately from server switching. Renaming the account does not create a fresh Welcome Summon or a new account code. Use the server menu for a reroll; use the nickname option only when you want to change the displayed name.
Link the account after you commit
Once you have chosen a server, link the account from the Profile area when you are ready. Linking is an account-management step, not part of the reroll loop. Do it after confirming that the account you want to keep is the one currently open, and retain any account code or sign-in details shown by the game.
Set a stopping rule before you summon
Rerolling becomes wasteful when every result is judged against an imagined perfect roster. Decide in advance what “good enough” means. For an early account, the practical target is a damage dealer who can finish fights, plus complementary characters that keep that damage dealer alive and let the team handle different encounters.

Use roles, not one-name rankings

This is a decision framework, not a guarantee of progression speed. A slightly less fashionable unit that works at zero copies can be more valuable than a high-ranked unit whose intended performance depends on several duplicates.
Why there is no permanent best reroll character
Netmarble’s current summon table contains a large SSR+ pool, including Evan, Khun Edahn, Urek Mazino, Yirang Yeon, Ha Yuri, Hugo, Sharon, White, Dumas and Lefav, among many others. The available pool and rates are live-service data. A banner change can add a stronger option, remove a rate-up, or alter which unit is easiest to obtain later.
An independent guide updated May 11, 2026 orders its Normal Summon priorities by priority, but much of its character list is presented in images and is therefore patch-sensitive. Its durable advice is to prioritize SSR+ units that help at zero dupes, then use later selections to finish units you actually intend to maximize. Do not spend an entire reroll session pursuing a community label without checking the current banner and your team’s missing role.
How the summon economy affects your decision
The Normal Summon banner is a long-term account-building track rather than a reason to burn every early resource during rerolls. The 2026 beginner guide reports five free Normal Summon pulls each day. It also reports a free SSR/SSR+ choice at 100 summons and a five-unit SSR+ selection at 200 summons; the 200-summon counter resets after the SSR+ reward. Netmarble’s official summon guide confirms the 100- and 200-summon bonus milestones and states that Welcome and Friendship Summons do not charge the Normal Summon bonus gauge.

Save Normal Summon tickets for the Normal banner
The same beginner guide recommends using Normal Summon tickets on the Normal banner and not spending Suspendium there. This preserves your premium currency for systems where you have a specific current target or a better reason to spend it. The recommendation is resource discipline, not a claim that every future banner will be identical.

Use these numbers to understand the scale of an early account, not to demand an identical result. Event schedules, onboarding revisions and regional availability can change what a new player receives.
Check Xia Xia’s Climbing Encouragement
If the Xia Xia’s Climbing Encouragement system is active on your server, inspect its free and coin or Suspendium tiers before claiming rewards. The 2026 guide warns that some tiers require paid Red Suspendium. Set a spending limit first; do not assume every visible tier is free just because the system is part of onboarding.

After you keep an account, stop evaluating units in isolation. Start with the DPS unit, then add the support, debuff or utility and frontline pieces that allow that DPS to survive and deal damage. The best opening formation is the one that clears your current stages efficiently, not necessarily the one with the most SSR+ portraits.
DPS: the unit that sets your investment direction
Choose one primary damage dealer to receive the earliest meaningful investment. Check whether the unit can function at zero duplicates, whether its damage is reliable in the content you are clearing and whether your available support improves its uptime. A carry that needs several copies before becoming functional can be a poor reroll result even when its maximum potential is high.
Support and recovery
Healing, shielding, buffs and other defensive tools determine whether your carry gets enough time to attack. A support unit can be more valuable than a second damage dealer when the first Adventure stages are killing your team before it completes a rotation.

Debuff and utility
Utility units contribute control, debuffs or matchup tools that raw damage cannot replace. Keep at least one option that helps when an enemy resists or punishes your default damage pattern. The exact priority depends on the current roster and stage requirements.
Frontline and protection
A frontline unit absorbs pressure, interrupts threats or creates space for the back line. If your account has a powerful carry but no way to keep enemies away from it, the roster is incomplete. Coverage matters even more as you begin preparing for content that requires more than one team.
Understand Shinsu Link before spending heavily
Tower of God: New World advances characters through Shinsu Link slots. Netmarble describes the system as eliminating the grind of leveling new characters: a new character can be placed into a developed slot and immediately become a powerful teammate. Conowen summarizes the system as, “In this game you don’t level up your units, you level up the slots that make up your team.”
This changes the value of a reroll. A later unit does not necessarily start from zero if your slots are already developed. You can invest in the account’s shared progression while keeping the roster flexible.
Keep one link ahead when possible
Conowen recommends keeping one link about 20 levels above the others when possible. That lets you control which unit becomes the highest-attack character for team effects that depend on attack ranking. Do not force the gap when it prevents the rest of the formation from surviving, but use it deliberately when you understand which character should receive the highest-attack designation.

Prioritize the partially built Yihwa recommendation carefully
When the guide’s new-player reward system is active, its dated recommendation is to prioritize the partially built SSR+ Healing Flame Yihwa Yeon first, then use your roster and current EX or banner availability to fill other roles. This is a guide-specific recommendation for that reward environment, not a universal rule. If your live server offers different units or a different event, reassess the team rather than following the old order automatically.

Do not lock one formation and assume the same arrangement works everywhere. The beginner guidance advises reacting to the battle flow and changing positions or teams when a matchup is poor. Move fragile damage dealers away from the enemy’s opening pressure, give your frontline access to the threats it must interrupt, and test whether a support’s range or timing changes when its position changes.
When a stage fails, identify the cause before spending resources. If the carry dies first, improve protection or reposition. If the team survives but times out, strengthen the carry or remove a defensive slot that is not contributing. If one enemy counters your main damage type, bring utility or a different damage option instead of repeating the same formation.
A practical first-day account plan
- Record the server and summon result. Screenshot or note the units, copies and any guaranteed selections so you can compare attempts without relying on memory.
- Finish only the tutorials that unlock account systems. Reach the Normal Summon, reward and Shinsu Link interfaces before making broad spending decisions.
- Choose one carry and assign a team role to every other useful unit. Mark each character as damage, support, utility or frontline; gaps become obvious immediately.
- Spend Normal Summon tickets on the Normal banner. Follow the cited guide’s recommendation to avoid using Suspendium there, and track progress toward the 100- and 200-summon milestones.
- Level the shared links, not every character independently. Keep the strongest link about 20 levels ahead only when doing so supports your intended highest-attack unit.
- Claim time-limited onboarding rewards. Check the active reward track, including Xia Xia’s Climbing Encouragement, and distinguish free tiers from paid Red Suspendium tiers.
- Test the team in Adventure stages. Use failures to diagnose role, positioning or matchup problems before replacing the account.
- Link the account once satisfied. Confirm the correct server and profile first.
Keep or restart: a fast decision framework
Use this four-part check after the Welcome Summon and initial rewards:

For example, keep a modest SSR+ carry with a healer and frontline if it clears stages and leaves your tickets for the 100/200-summon track. Consider restarting an account with a celebrated damage unit if it has no protection and repeatedly fails before that unit can act. The second account has a better headline pull but a worse playable foundation.
Common reroll mistakes and fixes
Switching servers without noting the original
Symptom: You cannot remember which server contains the account you liked. Fix: Write down the server name and result before every switch. Returning to the original server restores its progress; it does not merge attempts.
Expecting a nickname change to refresh summons
Symptom: You renamed the profile but the Welcome Summon is already used. Fix: Use server switching for a new account code. Nickname editing is a separate profile function.
Counting Welcome pulls toward Normal milestones
Symptom: The 100-summon counter is lower than expected. Fix: Welcome and Friendship Summons do not charge the Normal Summon bonus gauge, according to the official summon guide.

Spending Suspendium during every attempt
Symptom: You reach the chosen account with no premium currency for a current target. Fix: Use Normal Summon tickets on the Normal banner as the cited beginner guide recommends, and reserve Suspendium until you have a defined purpose.
Following an old tier list literally
Symptom: A unit ranked highly in an older guide performs poorly in your current team. Fix: Check the live pool and rates, judge zero-dupe usefulness, and fill role gaps first. Live-service banners make permanent rankings unreliable.
Assuming every new account receives the same rewards
Symptom: Your ticket total differs from a guide’s numbers. Fix: Treat the listed 2026 totals as guide figures. Verify the active event, region and onboarding track on your server.
Version and documentation caveat
Netmarble notes that some guide pages were written on a test environment and may change. Before committing resources, verify the live server’s Welcome Summon availability, summon table, rates, event rewards and any regional restrictions. The reroll mechanism—server switching with preserved progress—is the stable procedure documented for this process, while exact character priorities and reward totals are more likely to move with patches.
