To reroll in Kaiju No. 8 The Game, finish the opening tutorial and required battles, spend the summons available on the active Pickup banner, inspect what you received, then return to the title screen and choose Menu (≡) > Delete Account if the result misses your target. Deletion erases the current player data, so keep an account as soon as it gives you a featured or otherwise valuable character with workable role or weapon coverage.
Rerolling is worthwhile only while the likely improvement is worth the time. The live banner, its appearance rates, your first characters, weapon compatibility, Pickup-medal progress and the amount of time already spent should decide whether you reset—not a permanent tier list or the hope of creating a mathematically perfect opening.
The reroll loop in one view
The game does not provide a separate in-game reroll button. Each attempt uses the normal opening sequence, and the reset is an account-deletion action from the title screen. A safe loop is:
- Complete only the required introduction and battles until Gacha becomes available.
- Open the active banner and read its Appearance Rates before pulling. Check the banner name, featured units, weapon pool and any stated guarantee.
- Spend the opening pulls, record every character, weapon and Pickup medal, and compare the result with a target you chose before summoning.
- If the account fails that target, return to the title screen and select Menu (≡) > Delete Account. Confirm only after checking that you are deleting the unwanted account.
- If the account is good enough, link it and use Title Menu (≡) > Data Transfer before changing devices or reinstalling.
The official support guidance describes deletion as erasing the in-progress data on the current device. It normally cannot be restored, and the account is removed from the system after seven days. Treat every reset as permanent for practical purposes.

Finish only what unlocks the first summons
Your objective during an attempt is to reach the first usable Gacha screen, not to clear optional content. Follow the tutorial instructions and required battles until the game exposes Gacha. Do not spend time leveling, farming stages, completing side objectives or organizing a long-term team before deciding whether to keep the account. Those activities add time to every failed attempt and do not improve the opening result you are evaluating.
Once Gacha is available, pause and identify the banner type. A result from a Standard, Special or Ad gacha follows different rules from a Pickup result. The banner label matters when you later evaluate guarantees, medals and pity-like progress.
Check the live banner before spending
Banner advice becomes stale quickly because Pickup availability periods and featured lineups change. In your own game, open Gacha, select the banner, choose Appearance Rates/History, and then choose Appearance Rates. Read the current featured characters, weapon probabilities, rarity rules and any banner-specific exchange information shown there.

The same menu contains History. The official FAQ says the game retains up to six months or 100 entries of gacha history, whichever limit applies first. Use that record when you are checking what an attempt actually produced or verifying a run of weapon results. It is a record of pulls, not a substitute for reading the active banner’s rules.
Step-by-step reroll procedure
1. Set a target before the first pull
Write down a pass condition before you summon. A practical target combines the live banner’s featured value with basic team usability: for example, one featured character plus a compatible weapon or a second unit that covers a needed role. If you decide only after seeing the animation, every result can feel almost good enough and the reroll process can continue indefinitely.
Your target can be stricter for a short-lived banner featuring a unit you specifically want, or looser when the current lineup does not contain a must-have character. The game does not publish a universal “best first account”; the correct target depends on the banner available when you start.
2. Reach Gacha and inspect the rules
Complete the mandatory tutorial sequence. At Gacha, select the Pickup banner you intend to use and read Appearance Rates. Note which results are characters, which are weapons, what counts toward the Pickup guarantee and whether the exchange lineup contains an item you would actually use.

After summoning, record the names and rarities of every character and weapon. Also note how many Pickup Gacha Medals you earned. Separate first copies from duplicates, because a duplicate can have progression value while a first copy usually changes a new account’s playable roster more substantially.

4. Compare the result with the pass condition
Evaluate the account in this order:
- Did you obtain the featured character or the specific unit that motivated the reroll?
- Does the roster cover a usable damage role and at least one complementary role?
- Can the weapons you received be equipped effectively by those characters?
- Did the pulls create meaningful Pickup-medal progress toward an exchange you would use?
- How much time would another complete attempt cost compared with the improvement you expect?
5. Delete only an account you have rejected
Return to the title screen, open Menu (≡), select Delete Account, review the confirmation, and accept it only when you are certain the result is not worth keeping. The operation affects the current player data. It is not a temporary logout, cache clear or banner refresh.
6. Secure a result you keep
For an account that meets your target, link it before moving to another device. The official transfer route is Title Menu (≡) > Data Transfer. Follow the prompts shown by the game and verify that the transfer method is available before you erase the original installation or start playing elsewhere.
How Pickup mechanics change a reroll decision
Pickup medals are persistent, but the shop lineup is not
Every pull performed in a Pickup gacha grants one Pickup Gacha Medal. The medals themselves do not expire. They can be exchanged in the Shop for eligible ★5 characters and ★5 or ★4 weapons, but the exchange lineup is time-limited. A saved medal therefore has continuing value only if a future or current exchange lineup contains something you want; do not assume that every item will remain available indefinitely.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →When comparing two borderline accounts, count medals as progress rather than as an automatic reason to keep a weak roster. A few medals may matter if they bring you close to an exchange you would use during the current lineup. They should not outweigh a missing core character when your stated target requires that character.
Nine consecutive Pickup weapon results trigger a character guarantee
In the Pickup gacha type, nine consecutive weapon results make the next Pickup pull a guaranteed ★4-or-higher character. The rule applies whether those pulls are singles or part of 10-pulls, and the sequence can continue across different Pickup Gachas. If you are tracking it, count only consecutive weapon results in Pickup banners and consult the in-game history when uncertain.
This guarantee is not a general account-wide pity counter. It describes the next Pickup pull after the nine-weapon sequence. A result from another gacha type does not satisfy the condition.

Standard, Special and Ad pulls are separate
Standard, Special and Ad gacha results do not affect the nine-weapon Pickup guarantee. Do not merge all summon history into one total when deciding whether an account is close to the guaranteed character. The banner type shown at the time of each pull determines whether it belongs in the sequence.

Duplicates still have conversion value
A duplicate character is converted into progression materials rather than being entirely worthless. Depending on rarity and acquisition count, duplicates can produce Encounter Stones, Talent Shards and, after enough copies, Apatite Petals. For a new account, however, a first copy normally adds more immediate roster coverage than a duplicate of a character already obtained. Consider the duplicate’s specific conversion benefit only after checking whether the account has the roles and equipment needed to progress.
Featured units can return
Official notices give each Pickup a defined availability period and state that featured units may return. A reroll does not need to obtain every desirable unit immediately. If the current banner is not aligned with your preferred role, you can choose a lower stopping threshold and play, or set a firm target and wait for a future opportunity rather than treating the current lineup as permanent.
What makes an account worth keeping?
Stop immediately when the main objective is met
Keep the account as soon as it contains the featured character you specifically wanted, provided the remaining roster is workable. “Workable” means you can form a team that can enter normal progression without relying on a second rare result you have not obtained. Do not delete a successful target merely because another attempt could theoretically add a duplicate or a slightly better weapon.
Keep and play with a strong, usable opening
An account with one strong featured or high-rarity character, a compatible weapon or useful second unit, and enough resources to begin progression is usually a sensible stopping point. The value is practical: playing advances the account while another reroll repeats the tutorial. If the account covers your immediate combat needs and you would be happy to spend resources building it, the time saved can be worth more than a marginally cleaner opening.
Continue only with a defined target
Reset when the account misses the current banner objective, has no usable damage or support coverage, or lacks a character you would otherwise spend resources pursuing. Before the next attempt, set a maximum number of attempts or a time limit. That limit is a personal safeguard, not an official guarantee of success; the game publishes banner rates and rules, not a promise that a desired result will appear within a chosen number of resets.
A comparison framework for two candidate accounts
When two results both look acceptable, score them on the same axes instead of relying on the excitement of the newest animation.

| Criterion | Questions to ask | How it affects the decision |
|---|---|---|
| Featured-unit value | Is the unit featured on the live Pickup, or is it the specific character you wanted? | A direct hit can justify stopping even if the rest of the account is modest. |
| Role coverage | Can the roster perform the damage, support and survival tasks needed for early progression? | Broader coverage reduces the need to spend later resources filling an immediate gap. |
| Weapon compatibility | Does a received weapon suit a character you will actually field? | A weapon that cannot be used effectively should not be valued like a compatible one. |
| Pickup-medal progress | How many Pickup medals are recorded, and is the current exchange lineup useful to you? | Medals are lasting currency, while the items available for exchange can change. |
| Time already spent | How long would another tutorial, pull sequence and reset take? | The longer the sunk time, the stronger the account must be to justify another reset. |
Use the Appearance Rates screen again whenever the banner changes. Rates, featured units and exchange eligibility are live data, so an old reroll checklist cannot establish today’s best target.
Account deletion: risks and recovery expectations
The reset command is destructive. The official support statement says that deleting an account erases the in-progress data on the current device and means you can no longer play with that current account data. Deletion normally cannot be restored. The account is removed from the system after seven days, so do not use the command as a casual way to switch between two accounts.

- Do not delete an account while you are still deciding whether its character, weapon or medal progress is valuable.
- Do not assume uninstalling the app, clearing local storage or signing out performs the same reset; the documented reroll action is the title-screen account deletion flow.
- If you keep an account, link it and verify the Data Transfer route before changing devices.
If you accidentally begin deletion, stop and read the game’s confirmation and support instructions rather than creating more accounts or assuming that reinstalling will restore the old data. The published guidance does not promise a normal restoration path.
Efficient reroll habits
Use a written checklist
Keep four lines for each attempt: banner name, characters, weapons and Pickup medals. Add a pass/fail note tied to your preselected target. This prevents confusing two results and makes the time cost visible.
Do not chase an undefined “perfect” roll
There is no official success-rate study that establishes how many attempts a player should expect. Because the banner and rates are live, a claim that a perfect opening takes a fixed number of resets would be unsupported. Decide what improvement would materially change your early play and stop when an account reaches that standard.
Separate banner progress from general luck
A high-rarity result from Standard, Special or Ad gacha may be useful, but it does not advance the Pickup weapon sequence. Record it as roster value while keeping the guarantee calculation limited to consecutive Pickup weapon results.
Re-evaluate after a banner change
When a Pickup period ends, revisit your target. A unit that was the right reason to reroll yesterday may no longer be featured, while a returning featured unit may create a new opportunity later. The game’s notices define availability periods and indicate that returns are possible, so your stopping rule should follow the live lineup rather than a permanent ranking.

Practical stopping examples
You receive the featured character and a usable weapon
This meets the strongest stopping case: keep the account, link it and begin progression. Additional resets would mainly chase extras instead of fixing a roster problem.
You receive a high-rarity character but no compatible weapon
Check whether the character can still fill a needed role with the equipment already available. If another unit covers the missing role and the account has useful Pickup-medal progress, keeping may be rational. If the character cannot form a functional team and your target specifically required weapon compatibility, reset under the rule you set before pulling.
You receive several duplicates but no first copy for a needed role
Count the Encounter Stones, Talent Shards or eventual Apatite Petals as progression value, but compare them with the missing role. For a new roster, a first useful character generally changes what you can play more than another copy of an existing one. Keep only if the duplicate conversion and current team are worth more to you than another attempt.
You have nine consecutive Pickup weapon results
The next Pickup pull is guaranteed to be a ★4-or-higher character under the stated rule. If the account otherwise meets your threshold, use that information before deleting. Make sure all nine results were from Pickup and that no Standard, Special or Ad pull was accidentally included in your count.

Answers to common reroll questions
Is rerolling required?
No. It is an optional way to shape the opening roster. A playable account with one valuable unit and adequate coverage can be more useful than spending hours repeating the introduction.
Does Pickup pity carry over?
The documented rule is specifically about nine consecutive weapon results in Pickup and the next Pickup pull; it works across single pulls, 10-pulls and different Pickup Gachas. Standard, Special and Ad results do not count. Track the sequence in the game’s history rather than assuming every gacha shares one counter.
Do Pickup medals expire?
The medals do not expire, but the Shop exchange lineup is time-limited. Their future usefulness therefore depends on which eligible characters and weapons are available when you exchange them.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesCan a deleted account be restored?
The official deletion guidance says current data is erased, cannot normally be restored and is removed from the system after seven days. Treat the deletion as irreversible unless official support gives you different instructions for your specific case.
Where do I transfer a kept account?
From the title screen, open Menu (≡) > Data Transfer and complete the game’s linking or transfer prompts before changing devices.
Quick Recap
The decision rule
Use the live Appearance Rates and banner lineup to define a target, then judge the account on featured-unit value, role coverage, compatible weapons, Pickup-medal progress and time spent. Stop at the first account that satisfies the target you would be willing to build. Reset only when the result fails a clearly stated requirement, and use the title-screen Delete Account command with full awareness that the current data is being erased.
