Arthur is the safest anchor because the documented base-pool and hero-pool guarantees provide him, while no other hero has the same guaranteed path. A roster such as Arthur plus a durable frontline and dependable damage or support is usually a better stopping point than repeatedly restarting for a theoretical perfect or “S-tier” opening.
What rerolling is—and what it should accomplish
Rerolling means starting the opening sequence again so you can spend the first recruitment currency on a different set of heroes. In Last Asylum: Plague, the useful objective is not to collect the highest-looking individual rarity. It is to leave the tutorial with a squad that can survive the early campaign, activate a faction bonus when possible and transition into the progression routes described by the game’s community guides.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
That distinction matters because early heroes can be temporary. The documented free-to-play route begins with Arthur, Bella, Claire, Celia and the best available SSR, then changes to Arthur, Lucius, Claire, Celia and Harper, and later to Arthur, Lucius, Marlena, Claire and Harper. Bella and Celia are useful in the opening but are described as temporary in that route, with a warning not to overinvest in their skills. A reroll therefore needs to give you a sound starting platform, not the final five heroes you will use forever.
The practical stop rule
- Keep Arthur. The first-days guide says the base-pool guarantee and all four hero-pool guarantees provide Arthur. Restarting without him gives up the most reliable early anchor identified in the available progression information.
- Check the two sides of your formation. You need heroes who can stay in front long enough to absorb pressure and heroes behind them who can deal damage or provide support. A roster that covers those jobs is more valuable than a lone high-rarity pull with no functional partner.
- Accept a clearly playable complement. An LDPlayer search result gives Bella plus Grenwald as an example of an account worth keeping after a few attempts. Treat that as community advice, not an official tier-list cutoff or a guarantee that those two names are best on every server.
- Stop before the reset cost dominates. Exploration, recruitment tickets and Sanctuary progression accumulate on an account you keep. Endless resets throw away that compounding progress.
In practical terms, an account with Arthur, a stable frontline and a useful damage or support core meets the stopping test. Continue only when the opening lacks a workable formation or when your client’s current pool does not provide the heroes needed to build one.

Why Arthur is the reroll priority
Arthur is the only hero singled out as the dependable foundation across the documented guarantees. The first-days guide states that he appears in the base-pool guarantee and in each of the four hero-pool guarantees. That gives a new account a reliable route to him without depending entirely on low-probability luck during the opening summons.
No other hero is described as having an equivalent guarantee or farmable route at the start. This makes Arthur a better reroll target than chasing a different name that looks stronger in an isolated tier list. If your first account already has Arthur, the next question is whether the remaining heroes let you form a durable front line and a useful back line. If they do, the account has met the important requirement.
The opening heroes and how they fit together
Arthur
Use Arthur as the account’s anchor and judge every reroll around whether he is present. His value is not just his individual performance; it is the certainty created by the documented guarantee structure and his appearance in every recommended progression stage.
Bella
Bella is part of the publisher’s suggested starter five and the community’s initial free-to-play route. She can be useful while an account is assembling its first squad, but the progression guide labels her temporary and cautions against taking her skills beyond the recommended early investment. Keep her when she makes the opening playable; do not restart solely because she is not a late-game destination.
Claire
Claire appears in all three documented free-to-play lineups. That consistency makes her a sensible part of an account’s early transition plan. Her inclusion is a reason to value a coherent roster over a single flashy pull.
Celia
Celia is in the initial recommended team and the intermediate route. Like Bella, she is described as temporary, so invest only to the level needed for the current stage rather than treating her as a permanent account-defining target.
Marlena
Marlena is the only UR hero the first-days guide says accumulates for free. The same guide recommends developing her first in the suggested starter formation. That free accumulation changes the reroll calculation: you do not need to risk endless resets merely to force a UR result when the documented progression gives you a route to Marlena later.

Lucius and Harper
Lucius replaces Bella in the intermediate route, while Harper appears in the intermediate and later routes. Their presence shows how the account is expected to transition as additional recruitment and progression become available. A reroll should leave room for that transition rather than overinvesting in every temporary opening hero.
Grenwald and other complementary pulls
Grenwald is mentioned in the community example of a keeper account paired with Bella. The source does not establish a universal tier ranking for Grenwald, so use the pair as a practical illustration: a complementary pull that makes the Arthur-led opening function can be enough.
The documented team paths
The following routes are useful benchmarks when deciding whether an opening has a future. They are progression examples, not a promise that every server will offer identical timing or availability.
| Stage | Documented lineup | How to use it when evaluating a reroll |
|---|---|---|
| Initial free-to-play route | Arthur, Bella, Claire, Celia and the best available SSR | Keep an account that can field Arthur with a frontline and a useful damage or support complement; the best available SSR fills the remaining slot. |
| Intermediate route | Arthur, Lucius, Claire, Celia and Harper | Temporary opening heroes can be replaced without invalidating the account; evaluate whether your roster can transition toward this shape. |
| Later route | Arthur, Lucius, Marlena, Claire and Harper | The free Marlena path and later recruitment reduce the value of restarting for a perfect first summon. |
| Publisher’s suggested starter five | Arthur and Bella in front; Marlena, Claire and Celia behind | This is the clearest example of a functional early formation and a reason to value role coverage over isolated rarity. |
The starter five also benefits from faction synergy. The first-days guide says all five Warriors receive the full faction bonus, and the community wiki records that a full same-faction lineup receives 20% more health, attack and defence. That bonus is a concrete reason to prefer a compatible group when two reroll results are otherwise close.
How to reroll safely when the client’s reset options vary
A reliable, version-specific reset walkthrough is not established in the available guides. Server stage and client version can change the heroes shown and the controls available, so do not assume that a button, menu name or guest-account behavior from an older video still exists. Use the following loop as a safe decision process, adapting the actual labels to your current client.
- Confirm the server and client version. Before spending time on a reroll, check the server or region you selected and note the client version shown by your device. Hero availability can differ by server stage and version.
- Play only far enough to unlock the initial recruitment. Complete the opening tutorial and any mandatory battles needed to expose the first recruitment currency. Do not spend time upgrading optional buildings or clearing extra content until you know whether the opening is worth keeping.
- Claim every available opening reward. Collect the recruit tickets and other currency the current client gives during the tutorial. The exact amounts and reward locations can change, so verify the present in-game mail, mission and event screens rather than relying on an old checklist.
- Recruit and record the result. Note whether Arthur is present, which heroes can stand in front, and whether you have at least one useful damage or support option. Take a screenshot or write down the result before resetting so you do not accidentally abandon a keeper.
- Apply the stop rule. Keep Arthur plus a functional complement. If the account resembles the documented starter route or has a clearly playable pair such as the community’s Bella-and-Grenwald example, move on to progression.
- Secure a keeper before deleting anything. Bind or otherwise secure the account using the current client’s account option before leaving the guest state. Make certain the binding succeeded and that you can sign back in.
- Reset only through the option your client currently provides. If the game exposes a reset, sign-out, server-switch or account-management control, read its warning carefully and use it only after the account is secured. If no reset control is visible, do not delete application data or uninstall blindly; you may lose an unbound keeper.
If the client offers no safe reset path, the practical alternative is to keep the first account that meets the stop rule and contact the game’s support channel for account-specific instructions. The absence of a documented reset menu is itself a reason to avoid repeated experiments with an account you have not secured.
How to judge a pull in seconds
Use this checklist immediately after recruitment. It keeps the decision tied to what the opening can do rather than to uncertain tier-list labels.

- Anchor: Is Arthur present?
- Frontline: Can at least two heroes occupy the front without collapsing immediately?
- Backline function: Do you have a dependable damage dealer, support hero or both behind them?
- Transition: Can the roster move toward Arthur, Lucius, Claire, Celia and Harper, then Arthur, Lucius, Marlena, Claire and Harper, as new heroes arrive?
- Faction value: Can you approach a same-faction formation and its recorded 20% health, attack and defence bonus without forcing weak investments?
- Investment risk: Are you relying on a temporary hero only at the skill level needed for the current stage?
- Time cost: Would another reset delay exploration, tickets and Sanctuary unlocks more than it improves the formation?
A “yes” to Arthur and role coverage is normally enough. A “no” to Arthur is the strongest reason to reroll, while a “no” to a perfect late-game roster is not.

Why endless rerolls lose value
Exploration rewards are finite time you cannot bank across resets
The community wiki records 153 exploration steps containing 145 recruit tickets. Those tickets are attached to the account that completes the exploration. Every restart postpones the next set of recruitment opportunities and the materials obtained along the same path.
Additional squads depend on Sanctuary progress
The second squad unlocks at Sanctuary level 8 and the third at Sanctuary level 20. Repeatedly returning to the tutorial delays those thresholds. Once multiple squads matter for the campaign, an account that started one or two tries later but has real Sanctuary progress can be more useful than an account with a marginally better first pull.
Later recruitment changes the opening roster
The documented routes deliberately replace temporary heroes. Bella and Celia can serve at the beginning, Lucius and Harper enter the intermediate plan, and Marlena has a free accumulation path. Because the roster is designed to evolve, spending hours to remove every temporary hero from the first summons has a poor payoff.
When a reroll is actually justified
You are missing Arthur and have no clear guaranteed route
If your account lacks Arthur and the current client does not show the documented guarantee path, restarting is reasonable. Verify that you are on the intended server and that the current pool is loaded before deciding that the guarantee is absent.
Your opening cannot form two usable sides of a team
Restart when the available heroes leave you without a durable front or without any meaningful damage or support behind it. This is a functional failure, not a rarity judgment.
A client or server change invalidates the assumption behind the account
If a server stage or version changes the available hero pool, reassess from the beginning. A guide written for one stage cannot establish what a different client currently guarantees.

Do not reroll merely because another player posts a different “god roll.” The available sources do not provide a complete, version-specific summon probability table, so precise odds-based claims would be unreliable.
When you should stop immediately
Arthur plus a stable opening formation
Once Arthur is present and you can place durable heroes in front of useful damage or support, start exploring and building Sanctuary. The account is now earning the tickets and unlocks that future recruitment depends on.

If a new hero gives your Arthur-led team a workable front-to-back structure, keep it even if the hero is not named in the later route. The Bella-and-Grenwald example illustrates this threshold: community advice considers that combination good enough after a few tries, but it is not an official ranking.
A faction lineup with the recorded bonus
When your available heroes can form the same-faction five used by the suggested starter formation, the recorded 20% health, attack and defence bonus is a concrete benefit. Keep the account if achieving that bonus does not require wasting resources on heroes the progression route tells you to replace.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Investment rules after you keep the account
- Develop Marlena first when following the suggested starter plan. The first-days guide specifically prioritizes her development and identifies her as the only UR hero that accumulates for free.
- Use Bella and Celia as bridges. Raise them enough to clear the current content, but follow the community guide’s warning against investing beyond their recommended skill levels.
- Save room for Lucius and Harper. Their appearance in the intermediate route means resources spent on temporary heroes should be measured against the next transition.
- Keep the best available SSR in the opening slot when needed. The initial free-to-play route explicitly leaves that position open for the strongest SSR you currently own, rather than prescribing a single name for every server.
- Build around formation performance. A team that survives and advances generates more recruitment and Sanctuary progress than a bench full of untrained rarities.
Common reroll mistakes and recovery
Following an old reset video word for word
Menu labels and account controls can change with client versions. Treat videos and posts as orientation only. Check the controls in your own build, and never erase local data until a keeper is bound and tested through a fresh sign-in.
Chasing an undefined S-tier list
The available material does not establish a complete probability table or a permanent, version-specific tier ranking. An S-tier label without a server, version and role context cannot tell you whether the hero improves your actual opening. Use Arthur, role coverage and transition potential instead.

Ignoring faction synergy
A roster of individually attractive heroes can underperform a compatible same-faction group. The documented full-faction bonus is 20% to health, attack and defence, so include that measurable benefit in close decisions.
Forgetting the account’s progress cost
Each reset sends you back before the 145 recruit tickets earned across 153 exploration steps and before the Sanctuary 8 and Sanctuary 20 squad unlocks. If your current account already clears content comfortably, continuing to reroll has a real opportunity cost.
A simple keep-or-reroll decision card
| Result after the opening recruitment | Decision | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Arthur plus a durable frontline and useful damage or support | Keep | Meets the functional stop rule and can transition through the documented routes. |
| Arthur plus Bella and another complementary hero such as Grenwald | Keep | Matches the community’s good-enough example after a few tries; not an official tier guarantee. |
| Arthur but no workable frontline or backline function | Consider one more attempt | The anchor is present, but the opening cannot yet cover both formation roles. |
| No Arthur and no visible route to the documented guarantees | Reroll | You have lost the most reliable early anchor identified by the guides. |
| A strong-looking single hero with no supporting formation | Usually keep rerolling only if Arthur is absent | One isolated pull does not solve the opening’s role and progression requirements. |
| A complete late-game lineup is not available immediately | Keep if the opening is functional | The documented progression replaces temporary heroes as recruitment and free Marlena accumulation continue. |
Is restarting for an S-tier hero worth it?
Usually no. The evidence supports a guaranteed, Arthur-led start and a progression path that supplies or replaces several early heroes. It does not support a universal S-tier threshold, a complete summon-odds calculation or a claim that one lucky opening dominates every account on every server.

Restart only when the account fails a practical requirement: no Arthur where the guarantee should apply, no durable front line, no useful damage or support, or a server/version mismatch that changes the available pool. Once those requirements are met, exploration tickets, Sanctuary levels and later recruitment have more dependable value than another speculative reset.
What is established—and what you must verify in your client
The following points are supported by the dated community guides and official game copy available for this title:
- Arthur is included in the base-pool guarantee and all four hero-pool guarantees.
- Marlena is identified as the only UR hero that accumulates for free in the first-days guide.
- The suggested starter five is Arthur and Bella in front, with Marlena, Claire and Celia behind.
- A full same-faction lineup receives a 20% health, attack and defence bonus according to the community wiki.
- The exploration route contains 153 steps and 145 recruit tickets.
- The second squad unlocks at Sanctuary level 8 and the third at level 20.
What is not established is an exact, current reset sequence that applies to every server and client, or a complete summon probability table. Before deleting or abandoning an account, confirm the reset control, current hero pool and account-binding behavior in your own installation.
