For a normal Fortnite gameplay glitch, report it from inside the game while the problem is still visible: open the game menu, choose the three-line menu, select Report, then Submit a report, choose A bug, select the closest reason, and accept the submission. Fortnite captures a screenshot at the moment you submit; you can retake it if the first frame is not useful. The in-game tool does not accept video.
For Creative or Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) problems, use Epic’s dedicated bug-report form and include logs whenever possible. If video is essential, use an official community route such as Reddit, Discord, or X in addition to—or instead of—the in-game form.

Report a Fortnite glitch in the current in-game menu
The in-game report is the default route for a Battle Royale or other ordinary gameplay problem. Submit it as soon as the glitch is visible so the automatically captured screenshot shows the failure rather than a later, normal game state.
- Open the Fortnite game menu. On PC, press Esc. On PlayStation, press Options. On Xbox, press Menu. On Switch, press +. On mobile, open Menu, then tap the gear icon.
- Select the hamburger menu, represented by three horizontal lines.
- Select Report.
- Select Submit a report.
- Choose A bug as the report type.
- Choose the bug reason that most closely describes what happened. Select other if none of the listed categories fits.
- Submit while the issue is on screen whenever possible. Fortnite attaches a screenshot captured when you clicked to submit. If the frame does not show the glitch clearly, retake the screenshot before continuing.
- Select Continue, then Accept to send the report.
Epic’s support guidance says, “Submitting video evidence is not supported by this tool.” A video cannot be attached through this in-game submission flow, so preserve video for a different reporting channel.

Make the automatic screenshot useful
The screenshot is most valuable when it proves the visible symptom. Open the report while the broken state, missing item, incorrect animation, stuck interface, or other problem is still present. If the first capture shows a menu, loading screen, or ordinary gameplay instead, use the retake option and capture the relevant frame.
A screenshot cannot show timing, movement, or a sequence of inputs. Add a concise written reproduction recipe in any text field the interface provides, or prepare the wording in your own notes so you can paste it where available. Explain what happened immediately before the captured frame and what the screenshot demonstrates.
Do not describe a suspected cause as a fact. For example, write “the door remained closed after the key was collected” rather than “the server failed to register the key,” unless you have direct evidence for the second statement. Separating observations from theories gives developers a testable symptom instead of an unverified diagnosis.
Details that help Epic reproduce the problem
Epic’s form automatically contributes the screenshot, but the most useful diagnostic context comes from a precise description. Include the following information in your notes or in any available report text area.

Keep the first report short enough to scan. A developer should be able to identify the starting state, follow the actions in order, and see the difference between the expected and actual outcomes without interpreting a long narrative.
Use a minimal reproduction recipe
Start with the narrowest sequence that still triggers the glitch. If the issue requires a particular mode, island, item combination, quest stage, party size, or input method, state that requirement before the numbered actions. If you cannot reproduce it reliably, say how many times it occurred and what was different between attempts.
When the failure is intermittent, record the conditions that were common to successful reproductions. “Occurred twice after changing weapons while sliding” is more useful than “sometimes happens during combat.” If a restart, a new match, or repeating the same action changes the outcome, include that result rather than assuming the issue is fixed.
Choose the right reporting route
Different channels provide different evidence and levels of public exposure. Use the in-game form for a normal gameplay glitch, a specialist form for Creative or UEFN development problems, and a social channel when a video or community visibility is important.

A social post should supplement, not replace, a reproducible description. State the mode or island, platform, timing, steps, expected result, actual result, and frequency even when a video makes the symptom obvious.
Creative and UEFN reports need project context
Creative and Unreal Editor for Fortnite issues have a dedicated Epic bug-report form rather than relying only on the standard gameplay report. Epic says including logs is “strongly encouraged.” Preserve the relevant log or crash identifier before closing the editor or affected session, then explain which project, device, or published island produced it.
Identify whether the failure occurs in the editor, during a test session, on a published island, or on a particular device. Include the island code when the problem is tied to a published experience. If another creator or tester can reproduce it, describe the shared starting state and the exact action sequence. Logs are most useful when paired with the time of the failure and the project or island involved.

Check known issues before reporting a console problem
If the problem occurs on Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5, first check Fortnite Status, the Epic Games Status page, and the relevant platform-status page. A listed outage or known issue can explain a failure that is affecting many players.
If no matching known issue appears, reproduce the problem and submit the in-game report. Epic notes that console reports contain Fortnite game logs that help developers identify and fix issues. Include your written steps anyway: logs provide technical context, while your description identifies the player-visible symptom and the conditions that trigger it.
What to do when menu labels look different
Older Fortnite clients or help pages may use a longer sequence such as Reporting → Report a Bug, player, or Island → Report a Bug → reason → Accept → Confirm. Menu wording can change with updates. If your client does not show the exact current labels, follow the closest equivalent that leads to a bug report rather than selecting a player-report category for a gameplay defect.

Choose a bug, select the closest reason, check the screenshot, and complete the confirmation step. If a category does not fit, use other and explain the symptom in your description.
If the issue disappears before you can open the menu, write down the sequence while it is fresh and submit as soon as you can reproduce it. A report made after the fact cannot receive the automatic frame of the original failure, so provide the clearest replacement context you have and state that the screenshot was captured after the event if that is the case.
Example of a report Epic can test
The following format keeps facts, steps, and uncertainty separate. Adapt it to the available text field or use it as notes before submitting.
Experience: Battle Royale, solo match
Platform/input: Xbox Series X with controller
Approximate time/region: 19:30 local time, usual region
Object: named weapon and the inventory slot it occupied
Steps:
1. Pick up the weapon near the start of the match.
2. Open the inventory and move it to slot 3.
3. Sprint, slide, and switch to slot 3.
4. Attempt to aim and fire.
Expected: the weapon equips and fires normally.
Actual: the character holds the weapon, but the aim animation does not start and no shot is produced.
Frequency: reproduced 3 of 3 times in the same match; not tested after a restart.
Screenshot: captured while the weapon was equipped and the aim animation was missing.
Observation: the failure is confirmed.
Hypothesis: a slot-switch timing issue may be involved; this is not confirmed.This example does not claim a cause, response time, or guaranteed fix. It gives Epic a starting state, an ordered test, a visible result, and the limits of what was verified.
Video, logs, and public posts: know the trade-off
Video is valuable when the defect depends on motion, timing, a sequence of inputs, or an audio cue. Because the in-game tool does not support video evidence, post the clip through an appropriate official community route and include the same written reproduction steps. A public clip can reveal account names, voice chat, party members, or other match details, so review it before posting.
Logs are especially important for Creative and UEFN reports and can also be present in console reports. Keep the relevant identifier with the project, island, device, and approximate failure time. Do not replace a plain-language symptom with a log excerpt; provide both when the specialist form allows it.
Public channels are useful for visibility but are not substitutes for a direct in-game report when the issue is an ordinary gameplay glitch. Use the route whose evidence matches the failure: screenshot for a static state, video for a sequence, and logs for editor, device, or crash diagnostics.
There is no bug-report reward
Epic’s support answer to whether Fortnite bug reports earn a reward is: “No, we do not offer rewards for bug reports.” Submit because the information can help identify and fix an issue, not because a payment, item, or other reward is promised.
