Identify your TCL TV platform
The platform determines which menu to use. Check the TV’s Home screen and settings: Roku TVs use the Roku Home interface, while Google TV and Android TV have their own Home screens and app menus. If you are unsure, check your model’s documentation or TCL support before following a different platform’s steps.

Remove YouTube from a TCL Roku TV
- Press Home on the Roku remote.
- Highlight YouTube on the Home screen.
- Open the app’s options menu.
- Choose Remove app or Remove channel, depending on the label shown, and confirm.
TCL also describes removal in the Roku mobile app: open its Apps area, find YouTube, tap and hold its icon, choose Remove, and confirm. TCL warns that removing an app from a TCL Roku TV can also remove it from other streaming devices associated with the same Roku account. Uninstall YouTube from a TCL Google TV
Use Settings
- Open Settings > Device > Apps > Downloaded apps.
- Select YouTube.
- Choose Uninstall, then select OK to confirm.
Use the app details screen
On some TCL Google TV layouts, select YouTube in Your apps, press and hold the remote’s Select button, choose View Details, then choose Uninstall. The Play Store may also provide an Uninstall option. Uninstall YouTube from a TCL Android TV
- From the Android TV Home screen, go to Apps.
- Select YouTube.
- Choose Uninstall and confirm if prompted.
TCL’s general app guidance describes uninstalling an app from its app page after selecting it. The available actions and Play Store options can vary by model, software version, region, and app availability. TCL’s Google/Android TV app guidance
If you only want YouTube off the home screen
On TCL Google TV, TCL says you can go to Settings > Apps > select the app > Notifications > Off to keep an app from appearing in the Home screen’s top row. This changes visibility; it does not uninstall YouTube. TCL’s Google TV app-removal instructions

Google TV’s Apps Only mode changes the Home screen but leaves installed apps available. It does not remove YouTube or stop recommendations from appearing inside the YouTube app. TCL’s Apps Only mode guide

Do not assume every TCL TV offers the same removal action. TCL notes that menus and app availability vary. If YouTube has no Remove or Uninstall option, check the instructions for your exact model or contact TCL support rather than relying on an undocumented workaround. A factory reset is not a sensible first step just to remove YouTube. TCL describes it as a last resort for troubleshooting Roku TV apps; it erases downloaded apps, account sign-ins, settings, and preferences. TCL’s Roku app troubleshooting guide
