To remove, replace, or blur your webcam background, enable the effect in NVIDIA Broadcast, then choose Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast) in your video-call or streaming app. The effect processes a live camera feed; it does not remove backgrounds from still photos.
Check whether your PC is compatible
NVIDIA’s current product page lists Windows 10 64-bit, at least 8 GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX 2060, Quadro RTX 3000, TITAN RTX, or higher. It lists NVIDIA Studio Driver R570, Game Ready Driver R570, or NVIDIA RTX Enterprise Driver R570 and above. The recommended processor is an Intel Core i5 8600, AMD Ryzen 5 2600, or higher. Requirements can change, so check NVIDIA’s current page before installing or buying hardware. See NVIDIA Broadcast requirements.
NVIDIA’s FAQ says driver 570.xx or higher and an internet connection during installation. Broadcast downloads AI models for the GPU as part of setup. Check NVIDIA’s Broadcast FAQ.
Enable background removal in NVIDIA Broadcast
- Download and install NVIDIA Broadcast. Use NVIDIA’s Broadcast download page. Keep the PC connected to the internet during installation so the required AI models can download.
- Open Broadcast and choose your camera input. Confirm that the preview shows the webcam you intend to use.
- Enable a camera effect. Choose Background Removal to remove the visible background, Background Replacement to substitute another background, or Background Blur to soften it. NVIDIA describes these as webcam effects for customizing the camera background. NVIDIA Broadcast features.
- Check the preview. Use Broadcast’s webcam preview and before-and-after comparison to inspect the processed feed before a call or stream. The result can vary; NVIDIA’s cited setup information does not guarantee perfect edges in every scene.
Select the NVIDIA Broadcast camera in your other app
Broadcast provides a virtual camera device. Your meeting or streaming software must use that device to receive the processed image; enabling the effect in Broadcast alone does not change which camera the other app captures.

- A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis
- Open the target app’s camera or video settings.
- Select Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast) as the camera.
- Check the app’s preview to confirm it shows the background effect, then join the call or start the stream.

Troubleshoot a missing or incorrect effect
- The call or stream still shows the room: Check the app’s camera setting. It may still be using the physical webcam instead of Camera (NVIDIA Broadcast).
- The Broadcast preview is blank or shows the wrong camera: Reopen Broadcast and confirm the selected camera input. Then check that the camera is available to the app.
- Broadcast will not install or the effect is unavailable: Recheck the operating system, compatible GPU, RAM, and driver requirements on NVIDIA’s current product page. Make sure the PC has internet access during installation so the AI models can download.
- The output does not look clean in your scene: Inspect the preview before going live and choose removal, replacement, or blur according to the result you need. The cited NVIDIA material does not promise flawless segmentation for every lighting, movement, or hair condition.
If the issue persists, consult NVIDIA’s current Broadcast FAQ and setup guide.

Or let it run in the cloud
NVIDIA Broadcast processes a webcam feed. If your goal is instead to keep pre-recorded videos playing as a 24/7 YouTube livestream, StreamNeo is a separate cloud service: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It does not broadcast a camera feed.
With StreamNeo, nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded video streams at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and the service automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. UPI and cards are supported in India; card checkout is available worldwide. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start your free day.
