Most Fortnite Item Shop cosmetics bought with V-Bucks can be refunded in one of two ways: cancel the purchase within 24 hours if you have not used or equipped the item, or return an eligible purchase from the past 30 days with a Return Ticket. Both methods remove the item and return the V-Bucks; a confirmed return cannot be undone. (Epic Games Support)
Choose the right refund option
| Option | When it may apply | Ticket cost | Key condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cancel Purchase | Within 24 hours of purchase | None | The item must not have been used or equipped in any game mode. |
| Return Ticket | For eligible purchases made within the previous 30 days | One ticket | You must have a ticket available. The item is removed and the V-Bucks are returned. |
These controls cover most eligible Fortnite Item Shop cosmetics bought with V-Bucks. They do not cover every purchase type. Check eligibility before starting, and review the confirmation screen carefully. (Epic Games Support)

How to return or cancel a purchase
In the Fortnite game client
- Open the player menu.
- Select Support and Refunds.
- Choose Return or cancel purchase.
- Select the purchase you want to reverse.
- Check the items listed on the confirmation screen, then confirm if they are correct.
In the web Item Shop
- Sign in to the Fortnite Item Shop.
- Open the player menu and select Return and Cancel Purchases.
- Choose Show Purchases.
- Select the purchase, review what will be removed, and confirm.
Epic may change menu labels or locations, so use the closest matching options shown in the current client or Item Shop. A bundle must be returned as a whole; you cannot keep part of it through this process. Once you confirm a return or cancellation, it cannot be reversed. (Epic Games Support)
How Return Tickets work
- Epic says accounts start with three Return Tickets and can hold no more than three.
- Epic adds one ticket every 365 days if the account has fewer than three.
- Using a ticket returns an eligible purchase made within the previous 30 days; each return uses one ticket.
- Cancel Purchase does not use a ticket, but is limited to the first 24 hours and requires that the item has not been used or equipped.
If you have no tickets and the 24-hour cancellation period has ended, Epic says this process cannot refund the purchase and Support cannot provide extra tickets. (Epic Games Support)
#1 Best Overall

- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
Which Fortnite purchases are excluded?
Epic lists these as ineligible for Cancel Purchase and Return Tickets:
- Passes, Pass Levels, and Premium Reward Tracks
- Gifted purchases
- Level Up Quest Packs
- Certain Save the World items
- Purchases made in developer-made islands
- Battle Pass rewards earned through gameplay
Epic says some specific cosmetics may qualify for a tokenless refund under special circumstances, but availability is limited and not guaranteed for a particular item or request. It is not a general way to avoid using a ticket. (Epic Games Support)

Where to request refunds for other payment types
The Return Ticket process is for eligible Item Shop purchases made with V-Bucks. If you paid through a console or mobile storefront whose payment system is not managed by Epic, use that storefront’s refund process; its rules determine whether a refund is granted. (Epic Games Support)

Epic Games Store game purchases use a separate refund process through the Transactions page and have separate eligibility rules. They are not handled by Fortnite’s Item Shop return controls. (Epic Games Support)
