Buy V-Bucks only through Fortnite or Epic’s official stores, or redeem an official card from an authorized retailer. Before paying, check which Epic account is signed in, how many V-Bucks you need, and whether the platform you play on can use the balance. On Nintendo Switch, Epic-account-balance V-Bucks cannot be spent in Fortnite on the console.
Where to buy V-Bucks safely
Epic lists four authorized routes: the in-game V-Bucks store, the Epic Games Store, the Fortnite Item Shop at fortnite.com, and an official V-Bucks card purchased from an authorized retailer. Epic says, “Epic Games does not partner with any third-party V-Bucks sellers.” Its guidance on unofficial sellers warns that they may take your money without delivering currency, and sharing account details can put your account at risk. Epic Support says it cannot refund or grant V-Bucks for purchases made through unauthorized sellers.

Which V-Bucks bundle should you choose?
The US Epic Games Store listing showed these packs and prices when checked on October 4, 2026. They are live listing prices, not a guaranteed or permanent price schedule.

Check the current Epic Games Store V-Bucks listing before buying: prices and offers can change. At the time checked, the page advertised 20% Epic Rewards on qualifying purchases through Epic’s payment system, subject to its terms.
Match the pack to what you plan to spend
Start with the price of the item or purchase you actually want, then compare it with the V-Bucks included in each available pack and the cash you would pay. A larger pack means a larger upfront spend; it is not automatically the right choice for someone who only needs a smaller amount. The best fit depends on your intended purchase, budget, and platform—not on a universal value ranking.

Check where the V-Bucks will be usable
Before choosing a checkout route, make sure the resulting balance can be spent on the platform where you play. In particular, do not buy V-Bucks through Epic account balance expecting to use them in Fortnite on Nintendo Switch: Switch does not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, and those V-Bucks are not usable on the console. Epic says they can instead be spent in the web Item Shop or on a connected Shared Wallet platform, including PlayStation, Xbox, PC, mobile, or cloud gaming. Items purchased with V-Bucks are available across connected platforms. The Epic Store listing also says its V-Bucks are not redeemable or usable on Nintendo Switch.
Fortnite Gift Card or V-Bucks card?
These are different products. A Fortnite Gift Card adds funds to your Epic account balance. Eligible purchases using that balance include V-Bucks, Fortnite Crew, and Packs. A V-Bucks card—an older card type that may still be available in some regions or local shops—redeems for a stated amount of V-Bucks directly. Check the card type before you buy or redeem it. Epic says Fortnite Gift Cards are available physically and digitally in the regions it lists. The card’s currency must match the currency of the Epic account balance. If a card does not cover the full cost, an eligible purchase may be completed with another payment method; split payment is not supported for subscriptions such as Fortnite Crew.
For V-Bucks cards, confirm that the card’s purchase country or region matches the country or region on your Epic account. Epic may reject a card because of territory restrictions; check its territory-restriction guidance before buying one for yourself or as a gift. Keep the receipt until redemption is complete.

Redeem a V-Bucks card to the intended account
- Sign in to the Epic account that should receive the V-Bucks. Check the display name and linked platform before continuing.
- Enter the card PIN on Epic’s V-Bucks card redemption page and select the platform where you play.
- Review the account, selected device or platform, and the displayed new balance before confirming.
- If redemption generates a secondary Sony or Microsoft code for PlayStation or Xbox, redeem that code to the console account linked to the intended Epic account.
Use Epic’s V-Bucks card redemption page rather than a third-party redemption site.

Protect your Epic account and payment details
- Enable two-factor authentication on your Epic account.
- Use only a payment method you own or are authorized to use, and enter accurate billing details.
- Do not give an unofficial seller your Epic password, account credentials, or payment information.
