To reduce printing with a Glock 48 carried inside the waistband (IWB), first identify which part of the holstered setup shows through your clothing. A grip that stands away from your body may respond to a compatible holster wing or claw; a muzzle end that tilts away may respond to a wedge. Make one reversible adjustment at a time, then reassess in ordinary movement.
What printing looks like on a Glock 48
Printing is the visible outline of a concealed firearm through clothing. GLOCK describes the G48 as a Slimline concealed-carry pistol; its January 2, 2018 announcement lists a 10-round magazine capacity, an approximately 1-inch minimal profile, and a 6.85-inch slide. Those are manufacturer descriptions and specifications, not a promise that the pistol will disappear under every outfit or body shape. Locate the outline before changing your setup
Check the holstered setup in a mirror while wearing the clothes you normally use. Notice where an outline appears during ordinary movement: the grip, the muzzle end, or another area. PHLster, a holster maker, describes a “Poke and Check” approach: gently press at the visible area of the holstered setup and observe how it shifts. This is a practical diagnostic technique, not a standardized test.

- If the grip rotates inward when pressed, grip rotation may be the adjustment to investigate.
- If the muzzle end moves away from your body, the setup may need more inward tilt or support at that end.
- If another part shows, check the holster’s position, fit, and stability before adding an accessory.
Match the adjustment to the printing point

These options address different mechanics rather than competing as universal fixes. PHLster explains that keeping the gun close to the body can let clothing flow around it and reduce printing; that is the manufacturer’s guidance, not an independent measurement of how much concealment any accessory provides. Make one change and recheck it in motion
- Start with the observed problem. If the grip is the part that protrudes, check whether your holster supports a wing or claw. Consider a wedge only when the muzzle end’s tilt or gap is the issue.
- Confirm compatibility. Check that the holster is listed for your exact Glock 48 variant and any optic or light you use. Do not assume a holster made for another model or configuration fits.
- Change one variable at a time. Adjust the wing, claw, or wedge in small, reversible steps, following its manufacturer’s fitting instructions. A change that helps one area can create a new outline elsewhere or reduce comfort.
- Check belt support. See whether your existing belt holds the holster in a stable position. A specialty belt is not automatically necessary; consider different support only if the current belt is unstable.
- Reassess ordinary movement. Check the result while standing, sitting, bending, reaching, and walking in your usual clothing. Repeat the adjustment cycle if needed, and consider comfort and access as well as the outline.
There is no measured reduction or universal ranking for wings, wedges, belts, or clothing changes established by the cited guidance. Results depend on the fit of the whole setup and can change with movement and clothing.

Concealment adjustments do not replace safe handling, the owner’s manual, or compliance with local carry laws.
