You can recreate a few Sound Assistant functions with Android’s built-in sound settings, but there is no established universal Android replacement for its per-app volume sliders, simultaneous playback controls, and customized volume panel. If you have a Galaxy phone, check Samsung’s Sound Assistant listing first; on other Android phones, use the manufacturer’s sound and accessibility settings for the specific function you need.
First, identify which Sound Assistant feature you need
Sound Assistant is Samsung’s “Advanced sound utility for your Galaxy.” Its Galaxy Store listing describes individual application volume, 150-step volume adjustment, a floating equalizer, mono audio and left/right balance, routing an app between Bluetooth and the speaker, saved EQ settings, simultaneous playback, and volume-panel customization. Samsung cautions that some devices may not be supported. Check the current Galaxy Store listing and your phone’s available settings rather than assuming every feature works on every Galaxy model.

The listing includes version-specific notes: Flex Volume UI and Dual App Volume View from One UI 5, customized voice effects from One UI 6, and a version 8.x support note for One UI 8. These notes do not establish compatibility for every model or feature combination.

- Send an app to another device: this is audio routing, not an individual volume slider.
- Let more than one app play: simultaneous playback is distinct from sending audio to multiple output devices.
- Change tone or channel presentation: equalizer, mono audio, and left/right balance affect sound differently from app mixing.
- Change the volume interface: fine adjustment steps or panel customization are separate conveniences.
What Galaxy owners can use instead
Route a selected app with Separate app sound
Samsung’s audio settings guidance describes Separate app sound as a way to play media from a selected app on another audio device separately from the phone’s main audio output. This can help when you want an app to use a different output, but it does not provide general per-app volume sliders or reproduce Sound Assistant’s mixing features.

- Please note, this device does not support E-SIM; This 4G model is compatible with all GSM networks worldwide outside of the U.S. In the US, ONLY compatible with T-Mobile and their MVNO's (Metro and Standup). It will NOT work with other CDMA carriers, and it is also not compatible with their MVNO (Visible, Xfinity Mobile, US Mobile, Cricket Wireless, etc).
- Compatibility with certain third-party devices and accessibility accessories, including some hearing aids, may vary depending on manufacturer support, Bluetooth protocols, software compatibility, and regional firmware limitations. For additional hearing aid compatibility information, please refer to Samsung’s official support documentation.

The cited Samsung guidance establishes what the feature does, not a stable settings path for every One UI version. Look in your Galaxy’s sound settings for “Separate app sound”; menu labels and availability can vary by device and software version.
Distinguish Dual audio from simultaneous app playback
Samsung describes Dual audio as multi-device audio output where supported. It concerns sending sound to more than one output device; it is not the same as allowing all apps to play at once, nor does it assign a separate level to each app. Check your device’s sound or Bluetooth options for availability.

Use Dolby Atmos for sound processing
Samsung lists Dolby Atmos modes optimized for different kinds of content. This is a sound-processing option, not a substitute for app-specific volume controls or a customizable volume panel.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteUse accessibility controls for mono audio and channel balance
Samsung’s One UI accessibility guidance describes mono audio as useful for people with hearing loss in one ear, and left/right sound balance as helpful when hearing differs between ears. These controls change how audio is presented across channels; they do not mix apps or set independent app levels.

On a Galaxy phone, look under Accessibility for hearing-related sound controls such as Mono audio and left/right balance. Exact labels and menu placement may differ. On another Android phone, inspect the manufacturer’s Accessibility settings; Samsung’s guidance does not establish identical controls or paths on every brand.

The cited sources establish Samsung’s features, not a universal Android control equivalent to Sound Assistant’s per-app volume, simultaneous app playback, fine-step adjustment, or customized volume panel. Do not assume that a sound setting or a third-party app has exact parity without verifying that it supports the behavior you need. Headphones and speakers can serve as audio destinations, but buying one does not add software mixing, app-volume sliders, or volume-panel customization.
