Samsung Sound Assistant does not appear to have been discontinued. As of October 3, 2026, Samsung’s Galaxy Store listing still shows the app as free to install and lists version 8.5.00.2, dated May 22, 2026. If you cannot find it, availability may depend on your Galaxy device, region, or software version.

What Sound Assistant features are available?
Samsung describes Sound Assistant as a set of audio controls, rather than a single system setting. The exact options you see can depend on your device and One UI version.
- Separate app volume: Set different volume levels for individual applications.
- Detailed media volume: Adjust media volume using up to 150 steps.
- Customizable volume panel: Change aspects of the panel’s layout and appearance.
- Volume-button controls: Use the buttons to control media volume or playback.
- Simultaneous app sound: Allow sound from more than one app to play at once.
- Equalizer settings: Adjust audio and save or share EQ settings.
- Per-app output switching: Use the floating volume dialog to switch an app’s sound between Bluetooth and the phone speaker.
- Sound routing options: Choose how ringtone, notification, and alarm sounds are handled when headphones or Bluetooth devices are connected.
Samsung’s support guide also lists media-app favorites, Bluetooth video audio sync, and vibration-pattern options. These are not guaranteed to appear on every model or software version; confirm against the options available on your own phone.

Why the reverse stereo option disappeared
The loss of one Sound Assistant option does not mean the whole app was discontinued. Samsung Members users specifically reported that the reverse stereo option had disappeared. A Samsung Good Lock moderator said it was no longer provided on regular smartphone types from One UI 7.0.

Samsung’s explanation does not offer a current setting for restoring it.
