Open the document in Google Docs, choose File > Print, review the destination and settings in Chrome’s print window, then click Print. Check the preview before sending the job; you can also save a PDF instead of printing on paper.
Print a Google Doc from Chrome on a computer
- Open the document in Google Docs.
- Click File > Print. You can also open Chrome’s print flow with Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac.
- In the print window, select the destination printer and review the available settings.
- Check the preview, then click Print.
Google Docs supports printing through browsers including Chrome and Safari. The printer and settings you can select depend on what is available in Chrome’s print window. For printer setup, follow the printer manufacturer’s instructions. Google Docs Editors Help · Chrome Help

Check the preview, especially for pageless documents
Pageless documents can reflow when prepared for printing: images adjust to fit the page width, and wide tables may be squeezed to fit. If the document was previously in pages format, headers, footers, watermarks, or footnotes may still print even if they are not visible in the pageless view. Inspect the preview for layout changes before printing. If you need more control over the printed layout, Google says to switch the document back to pages format.

For a digital copy or a way to print later, use either available PDF route. Google Docs’ print flow downloads a PDF automatically; open that file in a PDF viewer if you want to send it to a printer separately. Alternatively, select Save as PDF as the destination in Chrome’s print window. You do not need a physical printer to save the document as a PDF.

Print from Chrome on Android
Android uses a separate flow: open the file in Chrome, tap More > Share > Print, choose a printer or Save as PDF, then tap Print. Chrome Help
If the printer you want is not listed
Confirm that the intended destination is selected in Chrome’s print window. For setting up a printer or resolving a device-specific issue, consult the printer manufacturer’s instructions; the steps can vary by printer.
