You can’t turn on AirDrop on a Samsung phone: AirDrop is Apple’s feature, and Samsung has no AirDrop toggle. On supported Galaxy phones, the equivalent route is Quick Share’s Share with Apple devices setting. Samsung’s March 2026 guidance identifies Galaxy S26-series phones as supported, though availability can vary by market.
Check that your devices and software are supported
Samsung’s India support guidance, current as of March 2026, names the Galaxy S26 series as the supported Galaxy family for sharing with Apple devices. Samsung says expansion to selected flagship models is planned, but that is not a guarantee of availability on a particular model or in a particular market. Check the Quick Share settings on your phone and Samsung’s support page for your region.

For the feature, Samsung specifies Quick Share version 13.8.51.27 or later and Google Play services version 26.11.xx or later. Its listed compatible Apple devices are iPhone 8 or later, iPad (5th generation) or later, and MacBook (2020 or later). Samsung Australia’s instructions specifically cover Australian Galaxy variants and require a Galaxy S26 with One UI 8.5 or later.

Samsung’s regional instructions can differ as rollout changes. If the setting is missing, your phone, software, or market may not yet be supported; do not look for an AirDrop switch in Samsung settings.

Send a file from Samsung to an Apple device
- Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on the Galaxy phone.
- Open Settings > Connected devices > Quick Share, then turn on Share with Apple devices.
- On the receiving Apple device, open Settings > General > AirDrop and select Everyone (10 minutes only) so the Galaxy can find it.
- On the Galaxy, open Gallery or My Files, select the file, then tap Share > Quick Share.
- Choose the Apple device from the nearby-device list. The recipient must accept the incoming transfer.
Samsung notes that menu names can vary by region or software version. Its Australia support page describes this Quick Share feature as a way to share photos, videos, documents and more between Galaxy S26 and compatible Apple devices.

Send a file from an Apple device to Samsung
- On the Galaxy, open Quick Share settings and set Who can share with you to Everyone (10 minutes only).
- On the Apple device, select the file, tap Share > AirDrop, and choose the Galaxy phone when it appears.
- Accept the incoming transfer on the Galaxy.
If the Galaxy or Apple device does not appear
- Check that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on both devices, and confirm the receiving device’s visibility setting is correct.
- Samsung warns that discovery may be unavailable while Mobile Hotspot or some Wi-Fi-dependent features are in use. Turn those off temporarily and try again.
- Samsung says Wi-Fi may turn off automatically when connecting to Apple devices. If discovery or transfer stalls, reconnect to a network, restart the device, and retry.
- If the Quick Share Apple-device setting is absent, recheck the exact phone model, regional support, One UI version, Quick Share version, and Google Play services version against Samsung’s current guidance.
