There is no confirmed Raven Rock-specific checklist yet. Bethesda has announced a Fallout 76 map expansion aimed toward the Capital Wasteland, but has not said what level, quests, build, gear, or supplies players will need. For now, keep the game updated, follow Bethesda’s announcements, and treat ordinary live-game activities as optional—not prerequisites.
What is Raven Rock in Fallout 76?
Bethesda describes Raven Rock as a map expansion extending Fallout 76 toward the Capital Wasteland in the game’s southeast. Its story centers on “a cold war” between two derelict Enclave operators. Bethesda says the setting offers a view of the region almost 200 years before Fallout 3 and precedes the Lone Wanderer’s journey. That is a relative chronology; the announcement does not identify an exact in-universe year. Bethesda’s September 30, 2026 directors’ letter closes its Raven Rock section with: “The Enclave will not rest until stability is restored.”

When is Raven Rock coming to Fallout 76?
Bethesda’s September 30, 2026 announcement says Raven Rock is “Coming next year,” which points to 2027. It does not give a month, season, or launch day, so there is no confirmed date to plan around.

How should you prepare while waiting?
Keep Fallout 76 current and watch official updates
Install the game on the platform you intend to use and keep it updated. Bethesda’s official Fallout 76 news and game page lists Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Check official announcements for access details when Bethesda releases them.

Play current content if you want to stay active
You can continue with activities already in the live game, but none has been identified as Raven Rock preparation. For example, Bethesda’s June 2026 notes describe Infestations as challenging encounters for experienced dwellers, recommend an Exploration Public Team when searching for them, and say defeating the boss guarantees a four-star legendary weapon or armor piece. Those details apply to Infestations only; the notes do not connect the activity or its rewards to Raven Rock. Read Bethesda’s official update notes.
Do not farm for an unannounced checklist
There is no announced Raven Rock requirement to reach a particular level, complete a quest, raise faction reputation, use a specific build or weapon, wear particular armor, or stock a certain amount of stash space or crafting materials. Avoid spending time or caps on a supposed mandatory loadout unless Bethesda confirms one.

What has Bethesda not confirmed?
- The exact release date in 2027.
- The playable boundaries of the expanded map and how players will access it.
- Any quest or character-level prerequisites, recommended build, or required gear.
- The update’s download size, pricing, or complete platform availability for Raven Rock itself.
Bethesda has described some earlier updates, including Burning Springs, as free, but that does not establish Raven Rock’s price. The September 2026 announcement does not say whether this expansion will be free or separately priced.
What should new or returning players do?
If you already play Fallout 76, there is no announced Raven Rock task you need to complete in advance. If you are considering starting or returning, choose your platform from Bethesda’s supported-platform list and play at your own pace; do not assume that buying the base game guarantees a particular Raven Rock access method or price. Wait for Bethesda to explain entry and purchase terms before making plans based on them.
