Where to start today
Suikoden I&II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars brings the first two games together. Konami announced its release for March 6, 2025. Its product information lists PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Windows, Steam, and Epic; a separate current official listing also names Nintendo Switch 2. The remaster covers I and II, not the complete series. Treat III, IV, and V as separate games; their current digital availability was not verified title by title here.

What about Suikoden spin-offs?
The numbered five are not the whole franchise. Konami’s 2025 corporate report says the series began in 1995 and had eleven titles released by that point. Other releases include Suikoden Tactics and Suikoden Tierkreis, along with side and portable games. Their placement depends on whether you mean original release order, in-world chronology, or simply the main numbered games. A complete, authoritative release-date sequence for every spin-off and regional edition is not established here, so this guide keeps the practical numbered route separate rather than mixing entries into it. Is Suikoden STAR LEAP part of the order?
Konami’s franchise portal confirmed a global release for Suikoden STAR LEAP in a December 2025 announcement. That notice does not establish a release date or confirm that the game is already available, so it should not be placed among released games in a play order on that basis alone. Release order or chronology?
This sequence answers the question for the main numbered games in release order. A chronology-based route is a different question, and side games make an all-franchise sequence more complicated. If your goal is simply to play the core series, start with I and continue through V; add spin-offs only if you want to explore beyond those five.
