How to Play Hush in VALORANT: Abilities, Combos, and Duelist Entry Tips

Hush is VALORANT’s ninth Duelist, built around redirectable crowd control, anchor-based movement, and unusually long-range recovery interactions. Her basic entry pattern is to displace or blind a defender, use Flow to cross the first exposed sightline, and let teammates capitalize on the space. Telekinesis then lets her recover a dropped weapon or the Spike from a safer position.

Riot announced Hush for Season 26, Act VI on October 18, 2026. The currently reported release date is October 27, 2026. Because the available ability guide predates launch, treat exact ranges, costs, cooldowns, durations, and interaction details as provisional until Riot publishes release notes and the live client confirms them.

Hush’s role and release status

Hush is designed to start fights rather than wait for a late-round duel. Flow provides her primary space-making movement, while Flashbulb and Displacement manipulate what defenders can see and where they can stand. Suspension extends that idea to a site-wide or retake-lane disruption. Telekinesis is the unusual utility: it improves what Hush can recover after the first engagement instead of directly increasing her damage.

Riot’s October 18, 2026 update places the new Duelist in Season 26, Act VI. A detailed pre-release guide gives October 27, 2026 as the release date. Until that date, and after it if a launch patch changes the kit, do not assume a value read from a preview is permanent. No verified pick rate, win rate, damage figure, or professional-use statistic has been established.

Hush abilities at a glance

Ability Type Documented behavior Best initial purpose
Telekinesis Passive Extends the range at which Hush can pick up dropped weapons and the Spike and interact with switches. It cannot take a weapon directly from an enemy’s hands. Recover equipment or the Spike without repeating the same exposure.
Displacement E A thrown cast can be redirected toward the crosshair after reactivation. It pulls players toward its center and concusses them when they hit a surface or another player. It resets every two kills. Remove an anchor from a defensive angle or group targets for a swing.
Flashbulb Q Uses throw or prepare modes. A thrown cast can be redirected after reactivation and flashes players who are looking at it. Force defenders to turn away while Hush crosses or a teammate swings.
Flow C Creates an anchor instantly. If Hush is airborne, she briefly levitates, then propels toward the anchor after a delay. Cross the first exposed gap and arrive at a selected landing point.
Suspension Ultimate Launches a steerable forward projectile. Reactivation or another fire input detonates it, levitating players in the area. The pre-release source reports that affected players appear unable to shoot. Create a coordinated execute or retake window.

The kit rewards planning the destination and timing before the fight starts. None of the documented abilities is an instant, unconditional guarantee of safety: Flow has a delay, Displacement and Flashbulb need deliberate placement, and Suspension still depends on teammates converting the disruption.

Telekinesis: turn distance into recovery value

Telekinesis lets Hush pick up dropped weapons and the Spike from an increased range and interact with switches from farther away. The practical example reported for the ability is grabbing a gun at the default plant on Split A while standing in A Main. That changes the decision after a duel: Hush can sometimes recover a rifle or objective without walking back into the angle that killed the previous player.

What Telekinesis can do

  • Retrieve a dropped weapon from farther away than a normal pickup interaction.
  • Retrieve the Spike when its location is otherwise dangerous to approach.
  • Activate switches from the extended interaction distance.
  • Support a post-fight reset by allowing Hush to remain near cover while collecting equipment.

What it cannot do

Telekinesis does not pull a weapon out of an enemy’s hands. It also does not replace map control: the item still has to be within the ability’s actual live range, and the range has not been finalized in the pre-release material. Use line-of-sight discipline and clear communication rather than assuming every item on the other side of a site is available.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Practical recovery sequence

  1. Win or trade the first fight and identify the dropped rifle or Spike.
  2. Move to cover without crossing the original sightline again.
  3. Check that the item is inside Telekinesis range and that the interaction will not expose Hush to a second angle.
  4. Retrieve it, then call the new weapon or Spike location so teammates understand the changed plan.

Displacement: pull, redirect, and concuss

Equip Displacement and fire to throw it. Alternate fire prepares it instead. After a thrown cast, reactivation sends it toward the crosshair. The projectile explodes on impact or after a delay, pulling players toward its center. A player is concussed if the pull makes them hit a surface or another player. The ability resets after every two kills, according to the pre-release guide.

Use it to break an anchor

Place the initial throw toward a choke, behind cover, or at the edge of a common defensive position. Wait for defenders to settle, then redirect the cast toward the crosshair so its final path catches the position they actually occupy. The goal is not merely to move a target; it is to make the defender leave a comfortable angle at the moment your teammate is ready to swing.

Pull-and-swing timing

  1. Tell a teammate which angle Displacement is intended to disturb.
  2. Throw toward the likely anchor while keeping your crosshair prepared for the redirect.
  3. Reactivate once the defender commits to the position, rather than redirecting immediately out of habit.
  4. Swing as the pull or resulting concuss lands. The teammate’s rifle should be ready to punish the target’s reduced ability to hold the angle.

Displacement’s reset on two kills makes it more valuable when Hush participates in fights instead of saving it indefinitely. The exact reset timing, radius, and any launch adjustments should be checked in the live client.

Flashbulb: a redirectable flash for first contact

Flashbulb follows the same throw-or-prepare structure. A thrown flash can be redirected toward the crosshair after reactivation, and it flashes players who are looking at it. Prepared casts give you a predictable release and timing; thrown casts let you curve the final line around cover or adjust where the flash finishes.

Choose the cast mode

  • Prepare mode: Use when the team needs a repeatable flash timing at a doorway, lane, or site entrance and you already know the final line.
  • Thrown and redirected: Use when defenders may change positions or when the flash must finish around a corner, above a box, or toward a newly revealed angle.

Flash with Flow, not instead of Flow

Flashbulb creates the opportunity to cross; Flow supplies the movement to exploit it. Call the flash timing, activate or redirect it, and begin Flow’s movement so Hush reaches the exposed gap as defenders are forced to turn away. A flash that pops too early leaves the movement delay exposed; one that arrives after Hush has crossed gives defenders time to recover.

Flow: Hush’s anchor-based entry movement

Flow instantly creates an anchor. When Hush is airborne, she briefly levitates in place; after a delay, she propels toward the anchor. The documented behavior describes a direct jump with no setup beyond aiming the anchor, making Flow Hush’s main space-making tool.

Set the landing point first

Aim the anchor at a safe landing location that clears the first exposed angle rather than at the deepest part of the site. The best destination is usually behind the first piece of cover, beside a teammate’s swing path, or in a pocket created by a controller smoke. Hush should arrive somewhere from which the next decision is possible: fight, clear, plant, or retreat.

Coordinate the departure

  1. Identify the first sightline that must be crossed and the landing point that removes it.
  2. Ask for a smoke or flash if that sightline cannot be crossed safely on movement alone.
  3. Place the Flow anchor and announce the departure timing.
  4. Activate the movement as Flashbulb, Displacement, or the teammate’s utility affects the angle.
  5. Clear the next close threat immediately on arrival; do not assume the landing itself wins the site.

The available description does not grant Flow invulnerability. Treat the levitation and delay as movement behavior, not immunity. If defenders can see the departure point, they can still punish a predictable activation.

Suspension: create the coordinated kill window

Suspension prepares a forward projectile that can be steered with the crosshair. Reactivation or another fire input detonates it, levitating every player in the area. The pre-release source reports that affected players do not appear able to shoot while levitated. That specific inability-to-shoot behavior should be rechecked after launch, because it is not a finalized live-patch value.

Attacking with Suspension

  1. Steer the projectile toward a packed site entrance, default plant area, or the lane defenders must use to retake.
  2. Wait until defenders are committed and have limited escape routes.
  3. Detonate when multiple targets are inside rather than spending the ultimate on a single isolated player.
  4. Have rifle teammates swing during the levitation window; the ultimate creates the opening but does not deal the finishing damage.
  5. After the first kills, use Telekinesis if the Spike or a better weapon can be recovered without repeating the dangerous crossing.

Defending with Suspension

On defense, the strongest use is often a retake lane rather than an early solo pick. Let attackers enter a space where the projectile can catch several players, then detonate as teammates arrive from complementary angles. Because the live duration and shooting restrictions are not yet confirmed, coordinate the swing for the earliest reliable moment and do not build a plan that depends on an unverified long lockdown.

Reliable Hush combos

Smoke, Flashbulb, and Flow: safe first contact

A controller smoke blocks the first sightline. Hush throws Flashbulb, redirects it toward the defender’s expected head level, and uses Flow to cross the exposed gap as the flash pops. This sequence links teammate protection, forced vision loss, and movement. If the flash is early, wait for the movement timing; if the smoke is late, hold the anchor rather than launching into an uncovered lane.

Displacement and a teammate swing

Throw Displacement toward a common anchor, redirect it once defenders settle, and swing with a teammate as the pull or concuss effect arrives. This is most useful against a player who must hold a narrow choke. The teammate should be ready before the redirect; Displacement is not a substitute for synchronized timing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Displacement into Flashbulb

Use Displacement to force a defender out of cover or toward the center, then send Flashbulb through the exit line. The pull changes the target’s position while the flash attacks the direction they need to look. Practice the pair as a timing drill rather than assuming a guaranteed kill: no official success rate has been published.

Suspension execute

Steer Suspension into a crowded site or retake lane, detonate when defenders cannot easily escape, and have rifle players take the levitated targets. Save a clear conversion plan for the moment the effect ends; an ultimate that catches several players but receives no swing only postpones the fight.

Post-fight recovery

After the first duel, use Telekinesis to collect a dropped rifle or the Spike from a protected position. This recovery is part of Hush’s round value, not an afterthought. Tell the team what was recovered so the next player does not expose themselves to collect the same item.

Attack and retake plans

Five-step attacking round

  1. Scout the first sightline: Decide which angle prevents entry and where Flow can land beyond it.
  2. Assign support: A controller smoke or teammate flash should cover the movement delay when the angle is otherwise open.
  3. Disturb the anchor: Use Displacement to pull or concuss the defender who can stop the entry.
  4. Cross and clear: Pair Flashbulb with Flow, then clear the immediate landing pocket before chasing deeper space.
  5. Stabilize: Plant, hold the exit lanes, and use Telekinesis for a safe weapon or Spike recovery if the first fight leaves equipment exposed.

Retake plan

Retakes reward patience. Keep Flow for the lane that must be crossed, use Displacement to break a planted-site anchor, and reserve Suspension for a moment when attackers are grouped or trapped by the retake route. Flashbulb should arrive with the teammate swing, not several seconds before it. Telekinesis can retrieve the Spike after a winning trade without forcing Hush to walk through the same angle alone.

How Hush differs from a conventional Duelist

Use these five questions when deciding whether Hush fits a map or team composition. They are decision criteria, not published rankings.

Comparison question What Hush offers What to watch for
Can she cross the first sightline reliably? Flow provides anchor-based propulsion and can be paired with Flashbulb or a smoke. The movement has a delay and the source does not document immunity.
Does utility create a killable target? Displacement can pull and concuss; Flashbulb denies vision; Suspension can levitate several players. Each effect needs a teammate or a prepared rifle swing to convert space into kills.
How self-sufficient is the entry? Redirectable abilities let Hush adjust after defenders reveal their positions. Her strongest sequences depend on timing with smokes, flashes, and swings.
What happens after entry? Telekinesis improves weapon and Spike recovery from distance. Recovery range and live interaction rules must be confirmed after release.
Where is the kit strongest? Coordinated attack executes and retakes where several players occupy predictable lanes. Unplanned solo pushes waste the timing and leave the movement delay exposed.

Riot’s quoted design description is that there is “a lot of room to make Hush feel like your own.” In practice, that means the kit supports several personal rhythms: fast Flashbulb-and-Flow entries, patient Displacement traps, or ultimate-led team executes. It does not mean every combination is equally safe or equally useful on every map.

Common mistakes and fixes

Launching Flow before support is ready

Symptom: Hush levitates or travels while the defender still has a clear rifle angle. Fix: call the departure, wait for the smoke or flash, and place the anchor behind the first cover rather than deep in the site.

Redirecting Displacement immediately

Symptom: The pull lands where the defender was expected to be, not where the defender actually settled. Fix: use the initial throw to create uncertainty, then reactivate after the position is confirmed.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Flashing without a swing

Symptom: Defenders turn away, recover, and hold the same angle because no one contests the timing. Fix: announce who is swinging and activate Flashbulb only when that player is ready.

Treating Suspension as damage

Symptom: Several players are levitated but survive because the team waits. Fix: pre-assign rifle players to the affected lane and detonate only when the team can act immediately.

Assuming Telekinesis reaches everything

Symptom: Hush exposes herself trying to retrieve an item outside the live range. Fix: verify the interaction distance in the client and use ordinary movement only when the route is actually safe.

Building around preview numbers

Symptom: A lineup or timing fails after launch. Fix: recheck the live ability descriptions and Riot’s release notes for range, cost, cooldown, duration, and interaction changes.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Practice routine before ranked games

  1. Map the anchors: In a custom game, mark Flow landing points that clear the first exposed angle on each site entrance you use.
  2. Drill the delay: Practice activating Flow with a metronome-like call so your movement begins when a smoke or flash reaches the angle.
  3. Test redirection: Throw Displacement and Flashbulb from different distances, then redirect toward a fixed crosshair position and a moving target position.
  4. Rehearse the swing: Have a teammate hold the rifle angle and practice the exact call for pull, concuss, flash, and swing.
  5. Validate recovery: Drop a weapon and the Spike at common plant locations, then measure the live Telekinesis interaction distance without stepping into the exposed lane.
  6. Run the ultimate drill: Place several practice targets in a retake lane, steer Suspension into the group, and rehearse the first rifle burst during the levitation window.

What to verify when Hush goes live

The pre-release material establishes the ability concepts, not a permanent balance sheet. On or after October 27, 2026, check the live client and official patch notes for:

  • Displacement’s pull radius, concuss condition, delay, and two-kill reset behavior.
  • Flashbulb’s flash duration, travel behavior, and whether prepared and redirected casts have different limits.
  • Flow’s anchor range, travel delay, landing restrictions, and whether any damage protection exists.
  • Suspension’s projectile range, area, levitation duration, escape options, and whether affected players can shoot.
  • Telekinesis’s exact pickup and switch-interaction range and any line-of-sight requirement.
  • Credits, charges, cooldowns, and ultimate-point requirements.

Until those values are published, avoid presenting a lineup as universal or a timing as guaranteed. Hush’s dependable fundamentals are the documented relationships: manipulate position with Displacement, deny vision with Flashbulb, cross with Flow, create a coordinated window with Suspension, and recover equipment with Telekinesis.
