Do not assume that a console purchase transfers to Steam. PC, PlayStation and Xbox stores issue different entitlements, so a copy bought for one platform does not establish ownership on another.
Install it

Install the verified build

Because the verification includes text legibility, the default Deck presentation is a sensible starting point for menus and subtitles. If text becomes difficult to read after changing resolution or display scaling, return to the default configuration before troubleshooting Proton or reinstalling the game.

Series X: digital and disc options
Series X can use a digital purchase. It can also install a supported Xbox One disc. After installation, the disc must remain in the drive when you launch the game because it serves as the ownership check.

Trying to use a disc on Series S
Series S cannot read discs. Replace the physical plan with a digital Xbox entitlement rather than attempting repeated installs.
Launching a disc installation without the disc
On Series X, reinstalling from a disc does not convert it into a digital license. Keep the disc inserted for the ownership check whenever you launch that installation.
Assuming Verified means a fixed frame rate
