For stereo, pair two compatible PartyBox speakers of the same model using TWS (True Wireless Stereo), unless JBL specifically lists your models as an exception. For shared party playback, some supported models can connect in Party mode even when they differ, but Party mode does not separate left and right audio into stereo channels. The buttons and compatibility rules vary by model, so identify both speakers before you start.
Choose TWS for stereo or Party mode for shared playback
TWS is JBL’s wireless pairing mode for stereo with compatible speakers. JBL’s general guidance is to use two speakers of the same PartyBox model. It names exceptions, including PartyBox 200 with 300 and PartyBox On-The-Go with On-The-Go Essential; check JBL’s current guidance for your exact pair rather than assuming other models are interchangeable. Party mode is intended to play audio across supported speakers when the models differ. JBL’s U.S. guidance describes Party mode for compatible PartyBox models, but it does not provide stereo channel separation. JBL’s U.S. PartyBox TWS setup guidance
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsPair the speakers using the controls for your models
- Check both model names. Read the names on the speakers or their labels. Confirm whether the exact pair supports TWS for stereo or Party mode for shared playback using JBL’s compatibility guidance or the owner manuals.
- Place both speakers within wireless range. JBL does not establish one universal range for every PartyBox pair, so follow the specifications for your particular models.
- Use the specified pairing control on each speaker. Some models have a TWS button. For the PartyBox 310, JBL’s manual says to press TWS on both speakers; the PartyBox 710 manual also directs users to connect two speakers in TWS mode. PartyBox 310 owner’s manual · PartyBox 710 owner’s manual
- Follow the older-model procedure when applicable. Some older PartyBox models use a press-and-hold Bluetooth control instead of a TWS button. Do not apply button instructions from another generation; use the manual for your exact speaker.
- Set the mode or channels in the app if supported. The JBL PartyBox app provides TWS controls and channel assignment for compatible models. App support and available controls depend on the speaker.
Know what happens to microphones and instruments
TWS pairing does not necessarily send a live input from one speaker to the other. JBL says that a microphone or instrument connected to one speaker while TWS is active will play through that speaker alone. For live input on both speakers, JBL points to a wired connection or mixer as an alternative. JBL’s TWS Mode Capabilities and Restrictions

Use a wired link when wireless pairing is not the right fit
JBL describes RCA, AUX, and daisy-chain connections for linking speakers, including for microphone or instrument audio. The right method depends on the input and output ports on both speakers. Check the manuals and match the cable to those ports; an RCA or AUX cable is not universally compatible with every PartyBox.

If pairing does not work
- The speakers will not connect: Recheck the exact model combination and whether JBL supports it in the mode you want. Brand alone does not establish compatibility.
- You hear playback on both but not stereo: You may be using Party mode, which shares playback rather than assigning left and right channels. Check whether your exact pair supports TWS.
- The TWS button is missing: Your model may use a different procedure, such as Bluetooth-button pairing. Consult that model’s manual rather than trying steps for a newer speaker.
- A microphone or instrument stays on one speaker: This is expected when the source is connected to one speaker during TWS. Use a supported wired link or mixer if the input needs to reach both.
