3. Use the no-number share form when the visitor chooses the contact
If your page should let a visitor select a recipient instead of directing every click to one business number, omit the number:

6. Set expectations about the handoff
Click-to-chat works on phones and WhatsApp Web. A phone with WhatsApp installed may switch directly to the app. A desktop visitor may be taken to WhatsApp Web, while another device may show a browser handoff first. The exact screen depends on the device, browser, and installation state, so describe the action as “Open WhatsApp” rather than promising one identical screen for everyone.
Plan the destination before you write code
Decide whether every click belongs with one account or whether the visitor is sharing content with a contact of their choice. If your iOS app checks whether WhatsApp is installed with canOpenURL, add the scheme to LSApplicationQueriesSchemes in Info.plist:
